[Secretly facepalms herself, I then realised that there's only one ^^;;] Welcome XxTigerxXLilyXx, wolfjmk2 to Herbology. Let this greenhouse be the classroom and the plants your allies. I'm afraid there are no planets to play with here. Yes, Heart, that's correct! Let's talk about dittany. *She walks over to a dainty plant with small pink flowers* What potion could be made from dittany and what are its properties?

After so long an absence, Ciara slowly walked into the greenhouse, although still slightly awkward in her slow movements, she was more determined than ever to get the most out of her stay at Hogwarts. Her time away for the holiday, spent with her father's family in America, reinforced her desire to grow into a person more like her muggle cousins.
She listened intently to Professor stars-hime's question and paused, racking her brain for the healing properties of such a plant.
She raised her hand, although the appendage was trembling slightly, it remained in the air until she had gotten her professor's attention.
"White Dittany Dictamnus albus and Dittany of Crete Origanum dictamnus. Both plants have medicinal value against digestive ills, and White Dittany also secretes an oil which has some anti-inflammatory properties." she said, slightly disappointed that a small quiver remained persistent in her voice.

 Harmony eyes the new girl, Ciara. Slightly happy she does not have that title anymore...
"Yeah, and white dittany holds oil that are flammable but can be used for anti-imflammatory purposes. How utilitarian.
You can make a Wiggenweld Potion with shredded dittany and other ingredents." Harmony yawns, a sign of her All-Nighter.

At the sensation that someone was staring, Ciara turned her head to meet Harmony. She greeted her with a small and somewhat nervous smile

Bemused by the scene, the professor briefly reminisces about her days at Hogwarts, then speaks.
"Ciara, that's correct, don't worry, you can breathe now. I didn't expect everything answered by one pupil. Harmony, also correct.
So, the name of this plant 'Dittany' comes from the Ancient Greek δίκταμνον, supposedly Δικτή, meaning Dicte. Dicte is a mountain the plant grew on. (from http://harrypotter.wikia.com/wiki/Dittany)
This is a very useful, but much-sought after plant as its has powerful healing ability. It can make a wound seem just several days old after applying.
Enough of that though, we're going to look into how we could nurture plants, so if we did need something like dittany, we would know how to look after it.

Stars walked over to the front table with dozens of pots, soil and some oddly-shaped roots sat, and placed a pair of earmuffs over her head and waited.

Ciara took a deeper breath, not having realized she was on the brink of hyperventilating.
While Professor stars-hime spoke, she bussed herself with taking notes. She chewed on her lower lip, an act that had become something of a nervous habit, when the professor mentioned partners.
Ciara turned to Harmony and fiddled with her hands. "Would you like to be partners?" she ask, her voice a bit shaky.
