Cedric smiled that she seemed at least a little nice to him. He took the girls arms. "Nice to meet you. I'm Cedric Hickman." He commented back. "I'm going to work on getting my doctorates degree in music. It's really all I really know. The only other subject I'm good at is speaking horse and English." He joked a bit. It was a true story too. He didn't do well with much other subjects.

Syla smiled as he followed through with the hand shaking, or arm. She couldn't really tell. "It's a pleasure to meet you too Cedric." The green haired girl was a little confused on what he meant by he could speak horse, but he made is like a joke so she chuckled a bit at it. "If you are good at music, as it sounds you are, then you can do great in it." She said with a smile. Music was a sketchy degree to go into thought, seeing as the job choices were limited, but it was still fun. "You can speak... Horse? That seems an odd language to speak." He said tilting her head a little bit, showing that she was confused. Then she realized that she was at a magical school, and that he was probably a different race. "Oh, I'm a dryad by the way." She said with a smile, just deciding to tell him what she was to get out any other confusions that might come up.

Yvette sighed as she looked at the latest dressed her father had gotten her with the help of her mother. She just prayed the the next one wasn't a wedding dress. It didn't feel right when someone like her mother only did stuff to please her father. It was like her mother wanted her father to have an affair, not that Yvette wouldn't mind, but he could at least divorce his current wife first. Yvette didn't plan to go to any balls or dances. She wanted to avoid people at the moment. Instead the girl started to sing sweet melodies just because she was alone.

The name is Caesar.

School would be starting soon, he knew, but Caesar still wished that his family had waited a few more days before sending him to this island. Granted, he would be recieving a wonderful education, and he had a wonderful room...but he didn't have his family here. He couldn't look after his younger brother or sisters from the island, nor could he make sure his parents weren't overworking themselves.

Lost in his worrying, Caesar walked around the campus, choosing to at least do something positive with the few days he had left before the term started. He could at least map out the campus in his mind, and explore the buildings he might need to know the location of. As he walked, he hummed lowly beneath his breath, allowing his gaze to wander across the ceiling and walls of the grand building he was in. Slowly, his mind cleared of his worries, and he found himself stepping into a large hall, the likes of which he had only seen before in the palace of his home. Surprised that the school even had such a nice ballroom, he ventured further in, quieting himself. After a few more seconds, he was able to hear another's voice, though it was obvious that it belonged to a female, and that she was singing for her own pleasure.

Usually, Caesar would leave, not wanting to interrupt where he was unwelcome, but before he turned, he was able to catch a glimpse of the girl. Quickly, he took another step, his brow raised as he noticed first her skin color, then her hair. The two features made him recall the exotic girl he'd seen months ago, and a small smile formed as debated the idea of making his presence known. There was still the chance that this was not Yvette, as he had yet to see her face, but he was curious...

"Hey, chica." he finally spoke up, repeating the same line he'd told the girl he had met months ago. Taking a step to the side, he did his best to see her face, allowing his smile to grow larger when he realized that this had to be Yvette, or a girl who looked exactly like her. "I feel as if we've met before. Truly, this time." he teased, trying to get a response from her.

Whoever came up on her as she sang was Spanish speaking. Chica was a Spanish word and that made Yvette want to moan in displeasure. She was a princess and a princess was someone who was always in the spotlight and always with fans having their eyes on her. The girl turned her head and looked at the boy. He too looked familiar, but that didn't mean much. He could be one of the guards from her father's palace that the meant sent to watch her and take care of her. This was not something that the girl really wanted.
"A lot of people say that." she responded as she got up. She turned her full body towards him. "If you must know I'm in several pictures around the school. I always appear with the Vice Principal's son. We're part of the freshmen class representatives." The girl added trying to slowly walk away. She looked at a poster that was pasted against a board declaring that the school was going to do a musical. Maybe she would look into it.

The name is Caesar.

As she turned completely, Caesar was able to finally get a full view of her face, which unfortunately held contempt. He rose a brow for a moment, trying to discern what he's done wrong. "It can't be pictures around the school that cause me to recognize you. I'm new, you know? I haven't much of a chance for exploration." He paused, moving his hands behind his back as he noticed her dress. It was beautiful, and he told her as much, despite the warning from his parents that not all people came from such a flirtatious society such as his. "This floral print is nice on you." He smiled a half-smile, pushing the hair from his eyes as he asked lightly, "Yes, I'm sure I've met you, exotic one." Taking a step back, he leaned against the nearet wall, continuing to tease this girl as he said, "It was only a few months ago. Believe me, because I don't often forget the face of someone who is so pretty. Nor do I forget those that I cover for." He was refering to the minutes after her departure from their lunch, during which guards had come looking for her, though Yvette had clearly not wanted to be found. Caesar had said he didn't know her, but he wondered often why she was outside of the palace, since her trips to Spain were rare. "In any case, I'm Caesar Valdez." he added after a moment, giving Yvette a polite bow, though he refrained from mentioning her lineage just yet; it seemed like she wasn't too fond of always being spoken to as a princess.

Yvette turned away from the poster. Rent. That was the play they were putting on this year. She should try her hand at it. She could sing. Her favorite character in the movie was the flirty Mimi, though her favorite actress Idna Menzel. The girl didn't directly look at the boy as she looked around the room. "My parents give me dresses, jewelry, but never what I truly want. I bet if I was to walk down the shopping district of Capital and just said something about a outfit in a window then I would get it the next day." She commented about the dress. That was something she hated about her life.
After a bit she turned to him and looked at him. "I have many names to different people. Today someone called me b***h, but I prefer Yvette. People mistake me for some princess, but I don't think I am." The girl told him her real name. She wasn't hiding this time who she really was. Something have him away that they had really met. "It looks like they're doing Rent this year." She commented.

The name is Caesar.

Glad that she was at least speaking, Caesar listened, mildly surprised to hear such bitterness in her tone. It was as if she was far from happy with things in her life, making her appear very different from the care-free girl he'd had lunch with before. Sidestepping the topic of her parents, as he really had no wish to discuss the king and his ex, he focused on her second statement. Someone had called her a b***h, but he was unsure of what that meant. It sounded like a sort of insult by the way she said it, so Caesar made a mental not to check into the meaning. Without missing a beat, he responded to her name with a grin.

Once she changed topics, he glanced to the poster she was reading from, causing his smile to faulter. While his speaking skills were excellent, his reading and writing in english was another matter, something he struggled much more with. Of course, he didn't bother Yvette by saying such, and instead went along with what she had said. "Interesting...I assume that is a theatre show?" While he knew of the theatre and plays, Caesar did not know many beyond those he saw in his homeland. However, singing was something he enjoyed, and a musical might just be the way for him to extend his life on this campus.

"Yes it is." Yvette answered as she took her spot back on the floor where she was when he first came into the hall. She had pulled at a small brown backpack that was hidden by a pillar. She had remembered that the Gothic Ball was soon. It always came at the beginning of the year. "You should continue your exploring." She encouraged. They didn't seem to have much in common there was no point in hanging out. It was not like Lyn or Donny, who she had relationships with since she was a small child.

The name is Caesar.

Watching as Yvette retrieved what appeared to be her backpack, he listened to her words. Nodding at the obvious dismissal, he flashed her a half smile. "I should, huh? I'd hate to get lost." As he stood from the wall, he stuck his hands in his pockets as he added nonchalantly, "See you around, exotic princess." Turning away from her, he stepped across the ballroom, finding the door without much trouble. He slipped out, back into the campus and his unnecessary worries.
