"Yeah...yeah, sure," he said, sounding confused but convinced. Azazel was an accomplished actor, but this was getting tricky. If he went to the Sanctum, then the odds were higher than he'd like that he'd be revealed. He'd rather go somewhere else and be alone with Black Cat, but how...?

He decided to let himself be led for now, and he would decide what to do as they went.

Reaper caught the slight look directed towards him, and it was enough to make him stop scanning the man's head for a moment. What was that for? Wait, she was there when he had that melt down, wasn't she? Maybe she did figure out that it was him in the end.
Great.

"Would it be easier if I just take you both there by shadow?" he offered. If that did become the case, then he'd be dropping the man off somewhere outside of course. Then he could decide how to handle him.
"There's been a bit of an incident and I've been asked to escort as many heroes back as I can.". Not a complete lie. He was out looking for missing heroes to take back to the sanctum. The 'as many as I can' thing was the part that wasn't really happening. He'd found one person on the list and they'd left to do their...hero thing. The others he'd just brought weren't on the list, and half of them would probably be off saving what was left of the world as well.

Cat shrugged, crossing her arms over her chest. "Anything that saves us time is good in my book," she put in, her tone pointedly polite.

"I should go see Mary Jane," Azazel-Peter said, fully versed on the major heroes of this dimension. "She's probably worried, and I don't know how long we've been gone. Cat, care to meet up for coffee or something, say later today? Or dinner, or something. I feel like it's been forever since we've hung out."

"Sure," Cat said with obviously forced cheer. Underneath that, the ice got even colder. "Coffee. Have fun with Mary P-Jane."

Reaper glanced back over at the fake Spider-Man once more, and again tried hard not to let his expression waver.
Other than the teenage version...Mary Jane didn't exist in this universe. And Reaper was pretty sure that the real deal already knew about the teenage version. At least that's the impression he'd gotten from the younger Spider-Man when he had a chance to skim over the boy's thoughts.
There were SO many things that he could point out right now. But...did he want to stir anything up, or just go along with it and get Cat away from him. The...being obviously didn't want to be taken along. Might be best to just get Cat away and fill her in later.

"I'm sure she'll have to make sure her problem is dealt with first." Reaper replied, giving a subtle emphasis on the word as he kept eye contact with the fake. There was a small...knowing look to his stare. "I know of at least two other people now who may be qualified for the task." he said as he glanced away from the man finally.

The shadow under him expanded and slid up and over the buildings until it reached the rooftop Cat was on. Rather than move towards both of them, it slid over to Cat.
The man HAD said that he'd rather not go. Not that Reaper had any intention of bringing him along anyway. He planned on transporting Cat straight into the Sanctum via shadow, and he would...stick around for a moment to see the other man off.
Or have a chat. Or take care of the matter himself. Whichever action the being decided to go for.

Cat shot Reaper a curious look, but before she could ask what the hell THAT was supposed to mean, she sank into the shadow and vanished.

After Cat had left, Reaper retracted his shadow and turned his gaze back onto the man. He crossed his arms, and let his mistrust become quite obvious with his body language. "Going off to find someone else then?" he asked calmly.

"Who, me? Not at all," Azazel said, sinister tone suppressed as he put on a look of confusion and surprise. "I have to go find MJ. Would you please tell Black Cat to meet me after? I feel like i hurt her feelings."
PostPosted: Tue Sep 28, 2010 10:35 pm

Reaper hesitated for a moment, apparently thinking over doing something...or not doing something, then relaxed his stance a bit. "Perhaps. As I said though, she might not be going very far until her problem is dealt with. I can promise you though...it WILL be dealt with."

((Enter from Gotham City.))

The Commissar used a built in tracking system to locate the new base; when the Commissar left to lead the Gotham branch of the Eastern Bloc, he instructed the New York branch to continue operations according to the guidelines he set. If so, then the signal should still be functioning and according to the system, the Commissar was getting close.

The signal led to a warehouse near the docks and upon entering, he was assaulted by the sound of guns being cocked. There was a moment of tension before all was at ease and out of the shadows of the dimmed warehouse, a soldier sporting a trench coat wearing the same chest plate as the Commissar great him.

"Boss! We thought you bit the dust when Strange teleported you."

Indeed the branch was still alive, but from what the Commissar could tell, it had dwindled since he last was leading it; only ten men were here and they were not equipped with the weapons that the Commissar had left for them, but the armour was still in their possession.

"What happened exactly?"

The soldier rubbed the back of his neck with his left hand, since his right sported a combat rifle, standard issue compared to the higher tech weapons that the Commissar had originally left to them.

"We got busted; we were probably too careless, some of the boys got arrested. We busted them out, but we weren't able to recover our weapons, so we blew the place up so the cops couldn't use 'em. The rest of the boys are undercover as militia to keep the city in order; things have really gone to hell since you left, even worse when some of the big heroes disappeared."

The Commissar had suspected as much when he took a look at the sensor monitors; something big was going on and the Commissar didn't know what exactly. It was time to introduce a little order to the major cities and even if any remaining heroes didn't like it, this takeover was necessary to keep chaos from outsourcing.

"I'm back now and things are going to get better now that I ‘am. Tell the 'boys' acting as militia to report back to the base in Gotham and restock. Gather the pirate system and fully equipped all of our troops."

The Commissar wasn't going to risk anything and he needed to not take over, but to instead enforce; things were getting off balance and despite this being a prime moment to establish dominance over Gotham City and New York, perhaps even more, it wouldn't be as satisfying unless there was a hero to defeat doing so.

"Are we finally going to takeover, boss?"

The Commissar sighed; these troops had been away too long and have forgotten what the Commissar stood for: order. This sole reason was why he didn't go out giving the secret identities of heroes or why he didn't use his technology to lay waste to entire city blocks. Order was what the Commissar used as a borderline for the chaos he also enjoyed to create. Just the fact this soldier suggested it made the Commissar sick to his wiring.

"No you idiot; what glory will we have if we takeover when players like Spiderman aren't around to be defeated? None what-so-ever. We're going to bring order, get the peoples trust, and when or if the big players return, then we take over, because then it'll be worth it."

The Commissar also needed one of those 'big players' to complete the body restoration project, one that had at one time be part of Weapon X, like Deadpool or Wolverine. With their blood and the sample from Doomsday, it would be possible to restore the Commissar’s true body and escape this hell hole of a mess created by some god or another. Maybe it was Loki playing a sick joke, but it wasn't in character for Odin or Thor to let that jokester get such hold over this reality. It was better to assume that a different god was causing problems here and probably responsible for the disappearance of the more famed heroes. The Commissar didn't know if all of them were gone, but it seemed the major ones were.

Peter shrugged. "What problem are you talking about? I'm sure I can protect her too, you know; I've known her a lot longer and she probably trusts me more. Either way, just let her know that I'll be waiting for her downtown in a few hours. Good luck."

Illusion cast, and he poofed away, appearing to be swinging from a web.

He had business to take care of.

The Commissar was leading his troops, fully classed in Mark Five Durasteel Armor, carrying weapons crafted from the same energy projection technology from the Nimord model. Their attack was relentless, the soldiers stormed the police headquarters and with a few casualties, established dominion soon after over New York's law enforcement agency. Those who refused with placed in holding, while those of the police who joined were given Communist colors, equipped with their own primitive weapons and tasked with serving the new law and order as Eastern Bloc militia.

The Commissar sat at the desk of what use to be the New York Commissioner's desk, but now he was an example, with his head blasted into ash in the corner of the room. Several men came in carrying a large device, the pirate system, used to access every television and computer monitor in New York. Order was going to be established and if the heroes weren't stepping in, then it was up to one of the villains to do what needed to be done. The Commissar spun in the chair to face the machine; secretly, he enjoyed the sit and spin chairs, but he wouldn't abruptly spin in one or it would hurt his image. Some monitors that were blocked by barriers and what not would not receive the message, but the Commissar did not care for those kinds of places, activating the machine to begin the city wide broadcast.

The image of the Commissar soon appeared on every available unblocked screen in New York, from televisions, computer monitors, and even cell phones, the Commissar's voice could be heard through New York.

"Greetings people of New York; I apologize for the interruption of your shows, Internet access, and mindless thumb twiddling, but I must inform you that New york is now under Eastern Bloc control. Your police force has been neutralized and as I speak, my soldiers are securing and making order in this city. New York is under my control."

As the Commissar spoke, soldiers dressed in red armor and carrying crimson weapons marched the streets, pushing people out of their way and making 'examples' of people who dared stood against them or were in the process of committing a crime. No civilians were to be killed, merely struck and sent on their way. A few citizens who brandished firearms were put down, their weapons confiscated. Several gangs and other criminal groups and hideouts were immediately sought out and placed under arrest or exterminated, often the latter. The Eastern Bloc had records of these groups before hand, so they made easy prey, through only the smaller groups; crime lords like the King Pin were left untouched due to the man power it would take to bring such large groups down.

"As you can see, my soldiers are acting as I speak. Please maintain a orderly conduct and behave or be eradicated. Remember, better to be red, then dead."

The broadcast shut down and the Commissar turned back to his desk. New York alone was too big to handle if forces were diverged to Gotham City to bring it under control, so the Commissar had to wait until the Comrad robots were online to begin taking it over, but that wouldn't be for awhile. The soldiers were patrolling, but order wouldn't be officially brought to new York for a good solid twelve hours, maybe longer, only time would tell.

The Commissar sat in his chair, looking out the window as soldiers wearing his colors marched the streets, which were practically empty of civilians by now. Due to no real sources of food importing was occurring, the Commissar had been rationing out food supplies to the populace, giving them equal portions per one person each, to keep things equal. Junkies were unburdened with their addictions and placed under holding and treated as regular citizens, but forbidden to get their 'fix'; all the drug dealers were put down anyway, along with any cases of perverted human nature, such a 'men's clubs' were shut down. Things were under control so far, but now it was time to act upon several pieces of knowledge that come to the Commissar's mind.

A signal import was detected coming from Xavier's School for 'Gifted' Children. The Commissar knew from practically since it started out meta humans were being held there, but order was maintained, so the secret wasn't let out. Obviously, the X-Men would be a threat to the new established order, so the Commissar was considering tasking the Comrad robots to containing them once they came back online. Then there was the process of trying to find Doctor Strange's hideout; once it was located, a safety perimeter could be established to see if anyone went in or out, but finding it was tricky; there were barriers intentionally used to stop 'science' from finding it. There was a spike in several readings from drone scans, but nothing to be one-hundred percent about. There were still heroes out there, the Commissar could smell it, metaphorically speaking; he lacked a real nose.

Unless Charle's team moved -if he still had a team- the Commissar would retaliate with as much forces as he could spare to make sure chaos didn't ensure from a conflict between the Commissar's soldiers and Xavier's meta humans. The Commissar wasn't equipped to deal with a psychic mutant; Xavier could read the Commissar like a book if he locked in on him. Through the Commissar's brain wasn't human, Xavier could still read it unfortunalty, so the Commissar had to be cautious. All the knowledge the Commissar had would be in danger of falling into the bald cranium of his; all the secret identities, skeletons in the closet, would be wasted. The Commissar wouldn't know what he would do if Xavier found out about his plans for the Weapon X program once he got a hold of Deadpool or Wolverine's blood.

ENTER from MUSEUM

Gold Star appeared atop a small, family owned grocery store with Spider-Man a couple miles away from the museum. She looked over at him to make sure he was alright. Well, alright as in he still had all his fingers and toes. She wasn't used to teleporting someone so suddenly.

"You alright?"
