{Five months ago} Sliding down the rock River went over to the target and checked the charm in her hand. Her grenade pins were unique. She had made 25 of them, each with a different charm in the center of the circle. Unlike regular pins, there was no ring, it was solid, with the charm etched in, and molten glass to add color. This particular charm was a 20 side dice that had landed on 20. Suppose to be for good luck. Didn't help at all... She thought shoving the charm into her pocket. She took out the notebook she marked a small star by the dice symbol. Time to move the target... She thought sighing.

Giglamesh would finish up with a few more, to him silly, icons on her belt. he would make a cute little hai kitty face. A beer bottle, and finally the important one that would be located at the front for all to see, once it started to glow, a grenade icon. He figured she would enjoy that one the most. The raw magecite was glowing extremely bright, to show the spell had been forced in to the magecite. Giglamesh would raise the mallet high smashing it violently in to the magecite smashing it in to dust the spread across the room. That was the point once the spell took hold within the magcite it would make it possible for other to use the spell, however when forced in to a item in most spell cases it was like it was always being used. Literally forcing the spell in to the magecite, and forcing the magecite in to the armor was the purpose of enchanting. Just as before as he struck the final blow the magecite turned to dust spready threw the myst in the room, only for a moment before the spell on the est would draw the remainder of the spell back in like a vortex. The the tool belt would glow beautifully with ivy around the length of it, and small cute icons in place of flowers. Giglamesh would pick it up and toss it at river with no warning. "There..." He never said what he enchanted it with, what type of spell, he just enchanted it and gave it back. He wouldn't harm her so she all to well should know it was beneficial, she just wouldn't be sure how.

{Five months ago} River grunted as she pulled the mini target out of the sand. She moved it closer to her starter point and frowned. She was unsure how close, too close was, so she was playing it super safe. She nearly had a dangerous accident while making these, she did not want to be careless. Kinda want to be in once piece for my birthday. She thought mildly amused. Only two months away and she will be 15. Shoving those thoughts aside she went back to setting up the target. It was just a small straw man on a stick, which took too much time to make for something that would be destroyed. Should be destroyed... She thought glaring at the target as if it were the target's fault she had missed. She went back to the starter position and unsnapped the pocket on her nade belt withdrawing a grenade. You are so going down Steve. River thought glaring at the silly target.

{ Five months ago} As if he had timed it a song began to play just as the grenade exploded. River glanced up seeing Giglamesh sitting on the rock above her. Where the heck did he come from? She wondered as she stood covering her mouth this time with her sleeve avoiding the dust poof, which did not seem to bother Giglamesh one bit. As if the freaking sand was scared of him. "How long have you been here?" She asked. Giglamesh glanced down and lit his cigarette before he said with a shrug, "Long enough." Taking a long drag on the cigarette before he appeared before her, faster than she could blink. "You throw like a girl." He added exhaling the smoke as he spoke. He took another puff on his cigarette and held up his hand cutting any interjection before he said, "I'll show you how to throw....." {Five months ago} With Gig's mild training, River was able to lob a grenade with good enough precision she felt confident enough to not hide behind something. She was still messing up though. She glanced behind her and sighed frustrated. Giglamesh lay on the giant rock just smoking that cigarette of his while listening to music. She should be pleased he liked the MP3 player so much, but now everything about him irritated him. "Try again" he had said. "I did, it's not working" She had said growing frustrated, only getting a shrug and him saying, "Try again." in return. That had been a half hour ago, and she still did not know what to do to make it better. She knew better than to ask him again; But come on... She thought glaring at the grenade, as if it were the nade's fault she was missing. She took out another grenade and growled frustrated trying to get her thoughts cleared again. She said a mental screw it, and used the anger as fuel before she flung the grenade. With jerky movements River lowered her goggles watching where it landed.

{Five months ago} The mild explosion popped some sand in the air, but River just glanced ahead covering her mouth with her sleeve. The landscape was rocky, but the sand stood out. Faintly one could hear the roar of the ocean less than a mile away. She felt a sweat drop slide down her back and shrugged out of her jacket. She took a calming breath and removed another grenade. She only had 2 left after this, she needed to make them count. She had to calm down and get serious. Closing her eyes she remembered how Gig had thrown one, replaying the movements carefully River mimicked and threw the grenade.

{Five months ago} River stood stunned seeing the tiny target now in pieces. Oh my gosh! "I did it!" She said pumping her fist in the air as she jumped. That actually worked! She thought elated by her achievement. "Did you see?" She asked glancing over to Giglamesh. He rolled to his side and glanced down from the rock. "...ehh....do it twice" He said and lay back on his back. She crossed her arms...
Suddenly something soft and cloth like smacked her in the head, breaking her thoughts, and snapping her back into present time. In her hands was the 10th grenade, ready to be finished, but she examined what had been thrown at her. It was her purple, camouflage print ammo/tool belt. She looked it over twice before she asked, "Well... how does it work?" referring to the enchantment he had added.

Giglamesh went to the Rv door and opened it, then literally swung around grabbing frame on to the roof of the rv. His casket was located there, and he would open it and remove Kagetsu and hop back to ground and step back in the rv. The massive gunblade barely fit inside the RV. It was seven foot long of metal death, and he would take it in to the work shop setting in on the table that began to creak under its weight. Giglamesh would look at river after she asked the question...she had finally snapped out of her own little world. Gig would stand and grab his coat and put it on. He would just put his arms on and begin to circulate magic threwout his body. As he did with his back turned towards her. Giglamesh's signature image, the skull with the manji located on the top of the skull would glow. Yet the glow spread and a crest that was unseen before would also glow, as well as crests around the shoulder and around the collar of the coat. Then under the symbol near giglamesh's a** would glow multiple kanji. Gig had taught her to read some of this ancient forgotten language, but more then likely she could not read it. It was the medium between the two enchantments. The symbols and crest as well as the kanji would glow a golden like orange. "Move your magic around." He knew she knew he meant her focus on her magic within her body, so he waited for her to do it. "...And it just works, as long as your have it on the spell enchanted in to it will work."

River put on the belt and closed her eyes feeling the magic swell within. While he did not explain what the enchantment did, she knew it would help her during battles, so she predicted it was something to do with defense. As she felt the magic swell, she gave a faint smile. Though anyone can use magic, if trained right, there were some who had a special affinity to a certain element. River felt the earth's call. In fact there were many elements in this room, each embracing her with their unique feel. Absorbing the mental hug she got each time she called upon her element, River opened her eyes and saw the belt glow. She spotted the grenade first and foremost and grinned. "Awesome." She said elated and she tried to find everything in the design. Sweet! She thought seeing a few things she knew he only added to make her happy. Joy swelled inside.
She stayed there a moment, just looking it over when there was a little voice in the back of her head threatening to get tired again so she said, "Thanks." Taking a final look, she took off the belt. She needed to finish the grenades before she crashed. "Think we can get some training with my newest gadget later today?" She asked using the brush on the lip of the grenade. She had to focus again, building grenades needed some attention.

Giglamesh would remove his coat and sit back down at the stool watching river and she enjoyed her enchanted armor, though to her the enchantment was random cause she had no clue of what was enchanted on it. "Of course...we always test your combat gadjets....but after we rest, im going to finish up kagetsu before i sleep." Giglamesh responded to her question, then would take the fourth piece of raw magecite and mallet and begin to chisel rune like marking in to the massive side of blade on Kagetsu kamakiri. He was just going with the simple rune like marking, that meant nothing, this one just aligned with the wind spells. He would strike the magecite much harder to make a slight dent in to the blade, this would be the best way to force the wind enchant spell in to its blade. Once finished he would have better control of the technique he uses with Kagetsu, the technique he doesn't use much, the technique of which has yet to of been defeated, the Sakura dance. Because the symbol were so easy, and seeing rivers happy face from him enchanting the belt for her he couldn't help remembering a while back a bit more then a year.
Not so long ago shortly before river turned thirteen, giglamesh finally took river on her first mission. giglamesh also picked a particularly hard one at that, A elemental hunt. Giglamesh walked on to the site of which the man had posted the mission, river nearly skipping behind him in joy. She was so excited, all her begging and pleading with him and he finally brought her along, finally she would get to see some real action. Giglamesh had began training river shortly after she turned twelve so she believed herself to be ready. She had no idea how wrong she was about to be.
Giglamesh would deal with the mission partitioner, which was a fairly short and fat man, which every word he spoke one could tell he was full of himself. Neither gig nor river paid him much mind they had a task at hand. both would advance further in to the construction site. Which was a massive quarry, in side what almost looked like a pit, there were multiple different types of machinery used for tunneling and digging, of minerals. Before giglamesh would take the last step to begin walking to the quarry's center he would speak to river. "Stay here and watch....youll see the risks that come with a real mission, before you try and fight it ill tell you now....this is a order." He was dead serious he had trained her that during a mission he was her commander and was to be treated at all times like such else endanger both his and her lives.
Natrually she would cross her arms and pout slightly, but she knew not to say anything when he was like that. So she kind of stomped away to sit on a rock close to the edge to watch, with use of her telescoping lenses she just made from glass and a few different sized cans, to watch from afar. Giglamesh just chalantly walked down a few carved ramps heading down lower, towards the center of the quarry. At first there was nothing, just seemed like a abandoned quarry. Short of a few large rocks sitting in the center of the quarry...wait at the center? Giglamesh would think it was odd that they just sat at the center of a mineral refining quarry, and by that time vine had began to sprout up wrapping those rocks. More and more vines, hundred, upon thousands of vines and massive roots sprouted around and under these rocks, literally lifting them off the ground. to which giglamesh just replied to himself. "....********..." The vines grew massive and to the size of trees by wrapping together, then there size became even larger then trees All of them forming upright wrapping in to ...something.
Finally the base began to separate in two, the top separated in three pieces, two long and one short in the middle. The long veins turned sideways and down, which then the rocks that previously lifted off the ground, exposed at the ends of these....limbs. the short middle vine would begin to sink with detail and opened showing a green light from deep within the beast. The vines had taken the shape of a humanoid ivy elemental. The huge creature would lean forward and let out a huge ground shaking roar, despite having no mouth. giglamesh would again say it to himself. Giglamesh continued the first few runes with complete ease, he didnt even necessarily have to focus on the enchantment because of the simplicity. He just stayed in his own little world remembering a happy....i guess you could say happy,....maybe life lesson would be better, yeah go with that. He would remember one of the first real important life lessons he had gone threw with river as his backup. The first thing the massive beat would do would be to raise it massive right arm, and bring the ivy wrapped rock down on top of giglamesh like a hammer. Luckily because of its massive size, its attacks came nearly like slow motion. Giglamesh avoided the impact, which caused a big wall of one of the tiers of the quarry to crumble and fall, of the elemental running clockwise around the elemental. River would scream form the distance "Be careful!" As if giglamesh wasnt already fully aware of it as he ran around it, casting haste on himself to speed up his...well compared to the elemental fly like motions. Which he did with good timing as came another few punch like blows from both arms of the elemental as he ran. Large pieces of rock crumbled up, and past gig barely missing him. The ground from the elemental's rock impact causing more rocks to jut upwards, giglamesh so narrowly avoid the attacks used them like steping stools to leap away.
Giglamesh just circled as the beast tried to punch the little flee as he tried to run. Finally it would literally just sweep the massive rock wrapped left vine around. Since it was a formless creature he simply made it shoulder where the left vine connected, circle its body slightly under the right arm. Giglamesh leapt over the rock that was coming at him, and skipping across ground. giglamesh would actually use his hand to hop over the rock as it came around. But as he was in the air the elemental would violently punch its right arm at giglamesh which was mid air and unable to move. Giglamesh saw the massive fist coming and would only reply with. "Cheater..."
The massive fist would fly back violently in to another quarry tier wall, smashing violently in to the wall with gig smashed between the rock and the rock wall, it didnt look good at all. in the distance river would scream in worry. "BROTHER!!!" [Craft: Enchant Wind enchant: Kagetsu Kamakiri Haste rank III: 85% success rate+ 10(+1 per 10 in enchant skill)=85% post 2/15 2/7 success]

Giglamesh would continue with his hard chiseling, just pounding that mallet in to the raw magecite causing it to make a slight dent in to the metal side of the blade of Kagetsu. Unlike with thread and cloth, when enchanting metal one has to use a great deal more force to get the spell to affect the metal, the harder the density of the metal the harder it is to enchant a spell on to said weapon. Giglamesh had gotten very good at this trade over the time he had done them, so doing this was was coming naturally as he kind of drifted off to the past.
It had seemed to be over, the elemental started to pull the rock, and its vine arm out of the wall. Only for the rock to explode in to dust. The vines lash around unharmed from the exploding rock. Giglmesh standing, looking hardly injured in the slightest, smiling at the elemental. It would trust its vine at giglamesh, but he easily jumped over them and the impacted and dug down deep in to the wall it had just hit. Giglamesh would land on the elemental's right arm and litteraly begin to run up it. As he ran up its arm ivy like tentacles would lash out trying to implae or knock him off, but his agility proved to be to much as he avoided every ivy lash and made his way up to the elemental's face would he would leap at grabbing the tsuka of one of his gunblade ready to slash its head off in passing. But as he passed, he never unsheathed the blade and actually removed his hand from the weapon. The Elemental would try to stomp giglamesh a single time with its vines as one, but to no avil.
Giglamesh was just to fast so the elemental would just have so much problem moving it large heavy limbs fast enough to hit him. So it literally planted its left leg and raised its right leg, and untwisted in, so it now hand hundreds of vine ready to lash and whip the man under foot. But even this didnt work, for every ten lashes the elemental struck only one or so would hit on average. Yet it slashed thousands upon thousands of times at him. With the attacks primarily coming from above he had no where to evade back to so giglamesh just flashed from side to side fron to back to evade the lashes of the vines. He was at a disadvantage so he would grab one of the vines and use it back lash to hop out of the wide spread whip storm. The elemental followed with it limb. No in air giglamesh was deflecting and evading the lashes much easier hoping off some of the whips as they missed him, to get at greater distance from the elemental.
This was working well, till one wrapped his ankle And slamed him very hard back down in to the ground, which was followed by the rest of the leg vines trying to smash him as giglamesh laid on the ground. He narrowly avoided the elemental stomp hand springing backward several times. This was intense giglamesh was sweating, and he loved it. with a it of distance there was a moments respite with no attacks, giglamesh just watched the elemental, and it watched him.
Then the vines that slammed in to the ground would rapily penetrate up out of ground from under gig's feet like spike. The first getting close enough to actually cut through gig'a hakama, and cutting his thigh slightly. Gigalamesh would run evading side to side trying to avoid the spike like stabbing motion of the ivy vines. The ground was to unsafe so giglamesh would leap in the air and begin using the last vine spike to push away evading the following one, then repeating by using last to evade the next. Which was working very well untill one went limp so he couldn't push away. and multiple quickly grabbed giglamesh holding him in mid air, for the left arm to bring the massive stone hand down in the the ground like a fist on top of giglamesh. The impact made a neat little crater causing stone ground around to jut upwards from the impact, gig at the bottom of that impact. While Giglamesh was was thinking about the past River was fiddling with her monkey music player. A song began to play which immediately got her to think about her sister. Damn, I hate when a sad song plays at this hour. She thought, though she did not change the song. While she continued to work with the grenades, she pictured her dead sister Rain. The young woman had been a memorable beauty while still alive. River envied her still, she often looked in a mirror trying to find traces of her sister in her own reflection. Rain was the only family River remembered; though her nightmares would sometimes bring back the pain and fear from before, her mind prevented her from remembering much. { ten years ago} At age 10 Rain was mature for her age, which is why she had decided to run away with her little sister. Both of their parents were non existent, even though they lived in the same house, they only remembered they had children when it fit their needs. It was 4 hours after they first left, and it was getting dark out. "I'm tired..." River complained rubbing her eyes, Rain had been acting weird all day, and it confused her. Rain sighed and rubbed her hand against the ridge of her nose, she reminded herself why she was doing this, being out in the cold, in the dark, when they could both be at home and in bed. River did not really understand, but this was her first complaint all night, a part of her was glad they did not go home. "I know, you can sleep once we get to the park ok?" Rain said glancing back. Sighing once more she shook her head and went back over to River. Half asleep, River leaned against a tree unable to move further. "Come on then silly..." Rain said letting River cling to her back, she would carry her sister the last mile. [Craft: tool Grenade Rank I: 100 success rate post 1/2 <21/40> 1/2 success]

{ten years ago} When River woke she screamed, reaching blindly for someone to save her. Rain was right there pulling River into a hug. "Shhhh, it was only a bad dream." She said softly rocking her sister. The tiny plea for help triggered a wave of her own memories, but she simply closed her eyes and said again, "It was only a bad dream." River would believe it if Rain said it enough, River had the chance to a normal life. It took some time, but River finally calmed and wiped her face on her sister's shirt. She then looked around them and blinked confused. "Where are we?" She asked, not remembering the last half of their trip. Looking around she spotted that they had been sleeping in a playground, on the platform that led to the slide. "Hey let's go get something to eat." Rain said mentally checking the money she had taken from their mother's "medicine" drawer, and from their father's pile gathered from payments received. She figured it was their money after all, so it not really stealing. River though was leaning over the railing of the slide and with a little frown, she started to search for something. "What are you looking for River?" Rain asked peeking over the edge of the platform with her sister. "Stuffy... if I forget him he always finds me while I'm sleeping..." River said, referring to her stuffed animal. Rain nearly groaned aloud. How could they have left behind Stuffy? "Um, I'm sure he will show up..." She said not sure if she should tell River the only reason Stuffy always found his way back to her room was because Rain put him there. River frowned but sighed and nodded. "Now come on let's get some breakfast." Rain said offering her hand to her sister.
