Zhen agreed with Suzu, which was well and fine, but Yue was stubborn and a little ridiculous. She just stared at Suzu, and when the girl tried to motion her to clean as well, Yue snorted. "I don't answer to you, princess; I'll move when those I respect do. Not a second before." Yue shrugged. She was never the favourite, and she didn't care at all about getting in trouble. She regretted the food wasted, but it was a little late for regrets, so she kept it to herself. Yue started to lick the jam off her hand, staring at the wall.
It wasn't until Eiji and Kotone moved that Yue got to her feet and started, silently, to gather things. She found a cleaning cloth in one of the cupboards and started to tackle the harder messes, and the sticky ones, scrubbing things free of the signs of combat. It had done a little to ease her boredom, but she still hadn't gotten the bloodshed she craved. Why did she? Yue sighed at herself. It was ridiculous, to crave physical contact and bloodshed so much. Although whenever she got physical contact it wasn't so bad, it sort of overrode her desire for violence and chaos. Yue Lao didn't speak for a while, she just cleaned, and cleaned, wringing the cloth into a dirty pot she'd found lying on the floor, covered in tomatoes and potato slices. Messes didn't bother Yue. She hated when things dried all tacky to the touch, though, like if Chishio spilled jam on the counter and forgot to wipe with a damp cloth instead of just picking the jam up with a dry cloth. It always left an irritating residue.
While she was cleaning, Yue bumped into a couple other lunarians, using the contact to abate her pressing need for physical contact. She missed her friends back home; none of them had come to the Academy with her, and she missed even the simple embrace of one friend to another. Yue blew upwards to move a stray strand of hair and kept on scrubbing.

Before going to execute her food gathering, Kotone had replied to Eiji with a resolute smile and words, “I understand, Sir Eiji.”
Then when Suzu had put more food into the pot, Kotone gave her a smile as well before explaining her idea. The smile was also given with respect since Suzu showed the strength of speaking one’s mind clearly. “Well, not just fruits,” Kotone answered as she scooped up lettuce pieces and rice grains, placing them into the pot as well, “I’m gathering all the kinds of food around. When I was in Goshin Village, I had an encounter with one of the farmers from who I heard about composting. I’m not sure how it will smell, but maybe the food can be gathered in a wooden crate or just placed on grass to become fertilizer over time.”

"I like that idea, maybe we can take it to a farmers after the lessons are all done and donate it. I do not see the school needing the compose however I am sure a local farmer will want it. Thats such a good idea Kotone! and very practical too."
She laughed clapping her hands before skittering to collect more things to put in the basket, she was happy her words seemed to have stopped the food fight and got everyone working together to do something constructive. As she got on her knees, rubbing a old rag against the floor to clean the juices, she began to sing a tune, one that she usually sung during her smithing.
She did so quietly and to herself, however it was a song easily recognized by many as one that was present in their childhood. Very common folk music.
She was not too shocked that Yue did not want to work, already she could tell she was the kind of person that did not like to make life easy on others. However soon enough Yue started to help, she smiled. Glad that she had chosen to do so.

Huang laughed, it a was a bright clear one for the fact he never really laughed at well. Just the sight of the tomato covered Eiji was enough to stop any ideas of revenge and put down his tomatoes. He had even accidentally got some on Kotone.
Huang cocked a eyebrow at Eiji before smirking, "Anytime Friend, Anytime." Turning now though, he looked at Kotone who had called a cease war and set down what was left of his ammo of tomatoes. "Ah...." Huang looked around to survey the mess before running his hand through his hair, pulling out globs of food and stuff at the same time. Now that he was more consiunce of what had just happened, he set about helping out.
"Sir Huang-fu?" Huang bowed his head at Kotone before smiling a smile at her. He truly considered Kotone a interesting soul, with good ideas, "Then we should grab all the food and place them here." He set up cleaning the table , shoving food into bowls to dump into wherever Kotone wanted it to go. He was also unaware of the other ladies in the room who had set about cleaning.
He felt the girl though, Yue bump into him as he gathered food and looked down at her before frowning, "You alright Lady Yue Lao?"

It was pretty strange, how fast Yue could flip her disposition. She had been feeling pretty lousy, and fed up with the Academy, particularly Suzu, but as soon as Huang asked if she was okay, Yue practically shone. She perked right up, became her irritating old self; almost. For a moment, actual gratitude shone through, and she smiled at Huang, "Sorry I bumped into you, I guess I wasn't watching where I was going," Yue laughed, "Too much jam in my eyes." She smiled wider, then tilted her head to the side. "Hey, Huang-- you're not so bad, are you?" Yue observed, crossing her arms over her chest, trying not to hit herself with the dirty rag.
Of course, she remembered his name, and she remembered having met him earlier. She hadn't particularly taken to him, not like she'd been amused by Eiji. Yet he had asked her if she was alright, and being observant enough to ask that made Huang interesting in Yue Lao's books. Her eyes flashed with curiosity as she regarded him, and finally, she felt like it would probably be better if she left. However, she had been scrubbing at jam and other messes for long enough, now, and she thought that perhaps she would at least offer Huang her assistance in whatever he was trying to do with the bowls, as per Kotone's instructions. "Need any help with that?" Yue gestured to the bowls with her thumb, casually, a flick of the wrist. She wasn't entirely sure what was going on, since Chishio usually did all the cleaning, but just because Huang was observant, she felt like she would at the very least offer to help.
Yue Lao was never kind, nor helpful, unless she thought the Lunarian genuinely deserved it. Although Huang couldn't begin to fathom, Yue's offer was a compliment, a rare one. She didn't really let that show. Her posture and facial expression were carefully controlled. Her face was grateful but otherwise empty of the nausea and longing she felt for her friends and physical contact, and her posture was one of casual boredom.

Eiji quietly glared at Huang as he was laughed at; for god knows what reason, though be could probably safely assume what it was. He’d have to watch out for this one. He had a little fire within him somewhere.
Well needless to say everyone in the room switched onto cleaning mode at some point or another, Eiji followed suit and did the same. He made his way over to the sink he was at before and grabbed one of the towels that were neatly folded next to it. Turning the faucet to hot he let the water get a bit warm before soaking the towel. He chose to clean the cabinets that were now splattered with tiny tomato pieces and juice that stuck to them; being non too pleased with picking tomato residue to be his first clean but he scrubbed away at it anyway. He couldn't help but think back to his own tomato predicament as he felt his head and neck get sticky from the juices.
The ruckus has stopped and it was now safe for Sumu to come out from hiding. Climbing out of the large mixing bowl from his safe haven of a cabinet he jumped down onto the nearby counter top. Different types of powder still dusted the surfaces of a few of the workstations and counters. As Sumu walked along, scoping out the damage to the room, he left little paw prints trailing behind him. His ears pined back as he realized it was sticking to his feet. Lightly kicking his feet with each step, in attempts to rid them of the powder, he aimed to jump to a clean surface.

Why was it that everywhere he turned it seemed to be empty? Jianyu's concern had long since turned into anger, as well as a wary caution that had him looking carefully before turning each corner. His bow was drawn, an arrow loosely strung, and each movement was slow, calculated to make the least amount of noise possible. Though there seemed to be students still in the culinary classrooms, everywhere else was deserted. The rooms all looked the same - like they had simply left in the middle of a lesson. Jianyu was growing increasingly frustrated.
There! A movement, just down the weaponry hallway. Jianyu quickly darted to the side, pressing himself up against the wall. He heard soft footsteps treading closer, the quiet, shuffling gait of either a woman or someone attempting to muffle the sounds of their footsteps. Either way, Jianyu's fingers tightened around his arrow. Closer....closer...there.
He moved quickly, drawing himself out from his hiding spot, his bow whipping upwards. He directed it straight in front of him, straight into...nothing?
There was nothing there. Slowly - so slowly he could scarcely hear it, Jianyu lowered his bow. He could still hear, vaguely, the sound of footsteps, as if the person had chosen to stop and turn around before reaching Jianyu. But when he peered cautiously around the corner, the hallway was empty.
Everything was deserted, except for that culinary classroom.
What is happening?

After the initial pot was filled with food, Kotone had moved on to help fill other pots that she had come across that had likely fallen on the floor during the food war, lining them up one by one on top of one of the counters once one could hold no more and began to fill another.
It was when she was scanning the room looking for another pot to fill and noticing the impressive progress of the clean up that a question crossed her mind.
She then addressed the individuals she was nearest to. “Miss Yue Lao, Sir Huang-Fu, thank you for your hard work,” her voice holding more of her usual cheerfulness. Next, however, her seriousness touched with concern was the tone her voice transitioned to as she continued to speak of her mind’s query. “Um, isn’t it a bit suspicious that no one has yet to come into the classroom regarding the food fight? It’s as though no one outside heard it.. Wouldn’t a student be sent or teachers of other classes fairly close by have come to complain? It‘s almost unheard of for our instructor to be this late, too. I thought our teacher would have been back not long after having gone out, but it’s already well into the class period.” Kotone hoped this ominous feeling that’s suddenly come up in her mind is mistaken.

Even the largest classrooms in the Academy could not contain the scorn that Van held for research projects. The girl’s staccato footsteps as she marched down the hall with her armfuls of scrolls were the only thing that filled the silence. Muttering something about fighters and the questionable necessity of essays, the Legionnaire found her way into a conveniently deserted classroom. At least now Van would be making headway on her homework sooner rather than later. Spreading her work across the span of several desks, she began to read.
Only moments into the first line of text, something moved in her peripheral vision. Looking up automatically, Van’s violet gaze was met with... nothing. Shrugging to herself, the girl resumed reading her textbook, this time following the weathered sentences with a perfectly manicured finger, so as to improve her concentration. But it was not long before she caught movement in the corner of her eye again, and she turned... to meet nothing but still air. Van was more reluctant to return her attention to her research this time, but nevertheless tried to continue loading streams of knowledge into her consciousness.
In Ancient Lunaria, the first bladed weapons were forged by the Moro clan—
It was too difficult to concentrate again, for now, she was almost certain that someone or something was watching her. She could feel a pair of eyes boring into the side of her head, burning, daring her to look up. Van suddenly shifted her line of vision to the doorway, and sure enough, she managed to catch a glimpse of black fabric before it disappeared into the hallway. Removing herself from the mess of desks, benches, and scrolls, the girl set out to investigate. She had to at least chastise the person distracting her from her studies, didn’t she?
Yet, when she stood in the hallway, she saw nothing. Heard nothing. There were no signs of life, and it looked just as it was before—empty. The only thing that Van could perceive was the faint, distinct smell of apple blossoms...
Pulling out her butterfly knives, Van took it upon herself to find the source of her annoyance. Creeping slowly down the corridor, so as not to make a sound, the Legionnaire made her way to the neighboring classroom and cautiously slid the door open. It was empty.
No matter, she’d simply continue checking the rest of the classrooms. Shuffling slowly down the hall, every once in a while throwing a glance backward, she opened the next door. Empty. Door after door she threw open, and each room was, without fail, bare. Why was the Academy so empty? There should have been one class in session, at the very least! Within mere minutes, the girl had reached the end of the hallway. Perplexed, Van planted her feet. There was no way she could go back to studying now, not with her curiosity piqued like it was now.
Thankfully, she didn’t have to worry much longer. Suddenly, the scent of apple blossoms had returned, overwhelming her senses. The smell that had once been faint was pungent, sweet, sickly... and the feeling of eyes on her back had returned. Turning quickly, as if in preparation for a confrontation, Van finally locked eyes with a masked man. And her blood ran cold.
His eyes were wild, crazy, and they were the cruelest she’d ever seen in another Lunarian. The low laugh that came from deep within his throat was equally chilling, and Van had never felt so small under another’s gaze. He was the cat, and she, the mouse. When he drew his weapons, she paled, stepping back. He was no student—her butterfly knives looked like toys in comparison with his gleaming swords. As she backed into the wall, her stomach dropped and her chest tightened. There was nowhere to run.
[[ Do not reply to this yet. Just keep going as you have been. Nobody should notice Van yet. ]]

Suzu had to admit, Kotone was right, she had not been at the academy long however from what her master told her this seemed very odd indeed. She put her hand on her hips and thought.
"I think its odd that no one is here, in fact I have a bad feeling about it. You know something is up. Any suggestions on a plan of action, I mean should someone go and take a look or something? Find out what's happening."
She asked with a small shrug, the classroom was in a decent state so she had no problem with leaving it, however at the same time she did not know where she would go if she was sent to look for the teacher. Something deep down in her told her something was off. However she tried not to act on it, I mean it could be nothing and she put it down to first day nerves. Maybe it was a test by the teacher to see how responsible they could handle a situation like this. Maybe they had been watching and waiting for someone to go and look, she really did hope they had not been watching all the slacking off the kids where doing.
"Haha... its probably nothing. However I would still like a explanation, all this waiting around is making me... uneasy."
She was never a patient person. The waiting game did not go down well with her.

He was going to figure out what was happening. Jianyu kept his fingers wrapped around the arrow strung in his bow, not daring to put it away just yet. Something in this school was making him uneasy, making him feel on edge. He did not like it at all, and his mind was telling him that something was incredibly wrong at the Academy. Something he did not understand.
He hardly had time to ponder this, however. An enormous crash, followed by a deafening explosion burst through the hallway, rocketing against the walls, and the force of it shook the very foundation of the school. Jianyu stumbled backwards, his heart leaping in his chest, his bow raised and strung, the arrow pulled back. Anger was pulsing through him, channeling into his very essence. He did not know what was going on, did not understand, but he would protect the school to the very end, and he would find his sisters.
I will protect this Academy.PROMPT Welcome to the Academy.
It is an extraordinarily intimidating place. Tall, white walls that seem to stretch miles high; golden trim lining the doors and the frames of each room; an imposing steel gate guarding the front entrance...it is a grand building, filled with many, many years of education, intelligence, intricate relationships...
...and secrets.
You are new to the Academy. It is your first day. You are expecting the day to go smoothly, to have a calm, yet hopefully interesting first day in the school that will train you to do what you love.
The day has been relatively normal so far. You have gone through it without noticing anything really amiss.
However.
In the midst of one of your classes, there is a large, fearsome noise, somewhat similar to an explosion. When you go to find out what has happened, you find deserted classrooms and masked strangers. The Academy is supposed to be a place of learning for all, a neutral ground where one is not afraid to mix with both Legion and Nobles...but what is this? Who are these people? What have they come here for?
...and what do they want? [ This is the second part of the prompt. Think of it in terms of both a metaplot and a "Choose Your Own Adventure" of sorts (very loosely, though). The staff characters, and perhaps even some NPC's, will be interacting with your characters to see how you respond to certain situations. Be careful to look out for their replies to you, however your roleplaying previous to this prompt should flow well with your responses after this response.
REMEMBER THAT YOU ARE ONLY ACADEMY STUDENTS!! You should NOT have a weapon, and you should NOT be particularly skilled in fighting, UNLESS it is relevant to your character's personality and history. ]

Huang, finally clean of the food fight of a mess, was going to resign to his seat to wait for the long absent teacher before the room shook and a large popping of a sound blasted his ears. Though he remained calm, He wasn't holding out to the panic of the classroom he was in right now. Students flailed, screamed, shouted and we're freaking out.
Huang stood up instantly though as the hallways where students were trying to escape to, now infested with strangers in masks started pushing students back into the classroom. Though he wasn't one for the rough treatment to anybody, Huang wasn't about to make himself noticeable, these people didn't bother him, regardless of their intentions, the academy was a place for peace and neutrality and to touch a child in the midst of the war was the worst type of crime. True to that though, all the mased strangers did was bar them into the classroom, some forcing students to sit while others to post around their doors.
So far though, Huang had only seen the students in this class, and with the masked strangers dealing with the outburst of the hysterical students, Huang made his move. Sneaking along the corner of the classroom, moving as quiet as possible, he slipped past the guards of the rooms and headed down the hallway, His first mission was to find out what the hell was going on.
"Where is everyone?" Huang looked around again, his footsteps, though he was quiet padded softly on the floor. He was trying to find where the explosion had emitted from, but he was unfamiliar with the layout of the school. Truth be told, He would've felt a little more comfortable with a whole scouting team with him. Maybe i should head back to the class for some reinforcements..., Huang debated internally as he kept to the shadows. Lucky for him, this hallway was deserted from the strangers. To go back now though would mean those masked strangers and imprisonment in the classroom, and there was no way in hell that was happening till Huang figured out what exactly attacked their academy.

Eiji started groaning as he continued to clean, not particularly enjoying this annoying task everyone was given. If anything he’d only be asking for something else to happen. Or at least have the teacher finally arrive so something other then scrubbing can happen. When suddenly.. his wish came true: in the sign of a loud explosion.
Both Eiji and Sumu flinched at the sudden explosion that had happened, in a location outside the classroom. ”What the hell?!” Eiji shouted before being pounced on by Sumu. Any immediate sign of danger wont go longer without Sumu and Eiji being reunited. Suddenly the class was in a panic. Not particularly one to panic as easily as some Eiji just watched the entire event trying to figure out what the hell just happened. At the sound of footsteps rushing into the room Sumu jumped down off of Eiji to the floor.
Who on earth were these random masked strangers? Obviously something happened otherwise they’d have no reason being here. Eiji stepped back until he felt the counter behind him and slowly slid towards the direction of the door. He didn't get very far before stopping as more of them entered. In his mind he just needed to get out of the room. Their new visitors were setting him at unease. What bothered him the most was that he had no idea why he was feeling that way towards them. Out of the corner of his eye he noticed Huang successfully sneak out during the commotion. Lucky b*****d.. he thought with a smirk. Huang was smart in his time of escape but no way was that same method possible more then once. The opening was there and it was taken while the chance was available.
Sumu was in no way planning on being anywhere near this place. Taking the first chance he got he bolted for the door, keeping himself hidden by taking cover under the workstations. He was small enough to make it out of the room undetected and made sure to stay light on his paws. Eiji just leaned back and watched as his traitor of a cat left him in the room alone. Oh yeah? You better scat! Damn cat... wait until I get a hold of you! Ditching me like this... he angrily thought to himself, clenching a fist that was pressing against the counter.
Sumu silently bolted down the hall. He seemed to be following after Huang for whatever reason he had. It didn’t take long for him to get close enough to let his presence be known without alerting any possible guards patrolling the area by letting out a meow.

"My basis for comparison is kinda limited, little lamb," Yue said to Kotone. "This is my first day here, so I don't really know what it's supposed to be like. As far as I know, teachers are mythical creatures to stand outside playing kickball all day," Yue added. She shrugged. Her face was lit by a friendly smile, though, as Kotone had thanked her for her effort, something she was not used to. Yue Lao shook her head at Suzu, snickering at her impatience.
"Go on, then, princess: go look for an explanation. I'm sure if you follow your nose and keep believing in yourself something will turn up!" Yue's smile turned from sincere to sickeningly sweet. She may as well have been made of honey, the way she seemed to taste something completely delicious in her own smile.
It was only the loud noise which prevented her from continuing her potential barrage. Her eyes grew wide and she leapt to her feet, then onto the desk. It was kind of a weird reaction, and totally illogical. She simply desired to be higher up. She howled with laughter after her initial fear had abated. What a ridiculous reaction! It even amused her. "Well, someone got me good," Yue said. "Not that I want to know what that sound was, but... no, I really do, hah," Yue added, jumping off the desks. She missed Huang's careful escape, but somehow saw that cat... was it Eiji's? Clearly she had not been introduced to it, but she nevertheless saw a cat dart out the doors.
"Hey now! The cat can't beat me out!" Yue exclaimed, laughing. It was a kind of nervous reaction, due to the loud noise having startled her, but being nervous only made her louder. She couldn't contain her excitement. At least something fun was finally happening. She followed the cat out the doors, laughing and calling, "Heeere, kitty kitty, kitty cat, catty kitty, cat, cat... Where are you getting off to? Not without me!" Yue swaggered into the hall, and tried not to lose sight of the cat. She caught sight of Huang, but she was immediately concerned with the masked figures. She thought one was close enough to address, though down the hall. Everything seemed to be desserted. Although she'd just told Kotone that she had no basis of comparison, something about the masked figures struck her as twisted, incorrect, or unusual.
"Hey," Yue called out, her eyes slitted again, her hands bunched in fists. Her heart was beating so strongly she thought she could feel it in her throat, "What's a pretty thing like you doing in a boring place like this?" Yue finished, taking a step towards it, and then another. She swallowed hard, not letting her apprehension show on her face as much as she would have liked. Her desire for physical contact might just get satisfied, depending on the nature of this masked figure. She wasn't much of a fighter, but she definitely had the spirit. Spirit couldn't always make up for lack of skill. It always had in her home, though, so how was she to know? Her fighting spirit was all she knew, and that was enough for her just then, her heart pounding against her chest.

The sudden explosion had Kotone react with a frantic jolt. This was then followed by another unexpected event. However, despite her surprise, her reckless nature had her stand her ground as the classroom was suddenly invaded by masked individuals. Her head darted in quick scans, as her mind worked desperately to reach a decision on a plan of action within the next instant.
Her brows furrowed in anger at the situation, this had the war written all over it. And next, she had unsheathed her staff from her belt‘s ring. Chaos, chaos, chaos, but Kotone pushed her mind to make some sense of her surroundings. The pots and bowls filled with food were possible options to utilize, she considered. These masked mysteries looked to be taking hostages as they pushed students to keep them away from the exit’s vicinity rather than killed at first sight like they looked to be capable of.
Being a held captive though, was not what Kotone wanted to be and she moved swiftly to follow through with a spontaneous idea, speedily pulling a stool back noisily in place several meters in front of the vertical surface directly across the still open door. This was Operation: Confound.
Mounting said stool with a crouch, she pushed off from it high into the air.
“Extend!” Her staff then elongated with the end behind her pushing off from said vertical surface just below where it met the ceiling. This momentum sent her zooming across and out of the room overhead.
Perhaps that could serve as some means of distraction for other classmates to execute any escapes, she hoped as she landed and used the still-present momentum on her to distance herself from the cooking room taken over by masked Lunarians as fast as she could. Blocking with her staff was all she would be able to do with it for the next thirty minutes. She’d resorted to elongating it right off the bat and realized her caliber as a warrior was child‘s play in comparison to the shady figures that had infiltrated the grounds. The element of surprise had gotten her out of one pinch, true. But it would certainly be foolish if she deluded herself with that luck and overestimated her abilities.
Her figure dove into shadows upon presuming an opportunity to attempt to proceed further in stealth, Huang-Fu, Sumu, and Yue Lao she then found currently within sight. Huang-Fu and Sumu kept hidden as well, however, Yue Lao was out in the open and challenging a spotted trespasser it seemed. Is the academy no longer neutral ground??
