His cursing continued: "Damn it...Why can't I find anyone? I don't WANT to be alone on this planet. I'd be happy for at least ONE of them. Rookie is fine..Hell..Dare is fine..." he rambled on and on pacing back and forth shaking his head and fiddling with armor on his back. He was fortunate enough that in his time of searching that he found his medical pack once more, even though it was still empty, he felt incomplete without it.

Then he felt the tap on his shoulder and whipped around to see the mother. "Oh......" he said as his rambling stopped immediately, wondering if she had caught any of that. Then she offered him food. At first he liked the sound of it, but then he found he was expected to dine with her, which wasn't a problem, and Nariko, that was a problem. He waited for her to finish, and without hesitation he responded to her invitation.

"No. Sorry ma'am but...I despise your daughter. Even to the point of passing up food." he didn't want to sound to harsh about it. It was her daughter he was talking about, but all they would do was fight and argue the whole time, and then it would make this vixen unhappy, which he didn't want to have on his paws. "Besides. I have to find my team. I can't stay here. Not forever" he nodded. It was the truth. Although trained to be alone and survive the wilderness, it was only until a soldier was pulled, not to live in the forest forever.

Holding up her hand in a form more along the line as a 'pardon me' rather than a interruption; Koyuki wasted no time after he stopped talking to chime in. "Dutch....I know my daughter isn't easy to be around, or even handle at times. Trust me, she is far from the geisha I hope she'd be....but I love her all the same." Likewise, it pained her to see her mate in Dutch; oh how she missed him so. "Besides....we are not as formal as you're making us out to be; at least come with us back; replenish and i'll pack you a bento box to go....ah....take out box?" Koyuki corrected, unsure if she had the right word.

"Your moral will surely deminish faster if you don't clear your head. Perhaps you will gain an epiphany when you take a little bit to not think about it; before returning headstrong once more?" She offered, looking back to her daughter pick up the basket as she seemed a bit lost in thought.

"I am not your team...but allow me to keep you company then for a hour of your time. I have missed my mate dearly and its nice to have a reminder...." She knew they wern't the same, but none the less the smell of metal was similar; and it eased the ache in her heart. "Can I not convince you then....Dutch?"

His eyes narrowed only a little. If she wasn't the Spartan, then she made it quite clear that her mate was. Being normally against Spartans regardless, he couldn't help but shoot another glare over to where he presumed Nariko sat. Were she a normal solider, he might have tolerated the moods, but that was far from the case.

But his mind drifted back to the offer. No strings were attached, and other with having to take time from his search and deal with the Spartan vixen, he couldn't find a good reason to say no. He sighed, looking back to the path behind him, still wondering if it was even a good idea. "I guess I don't have much of a choice." he sighed again, knowing that if he fought her, there might be more hell than he would want...which was hard to imagine

"Excellent!" A bright smile beamed over her face as she patted his arm in a small victory. "Besides, what mother can let someone miss out on a cooked meal! None, thats who." Although most definately not duty bound, her desire to be hospitible from her Geisha training still flared strong in her blood. "Nariko! Time to go." Koyuki called back before tugging on Dutch's arm to get him to follow along the path with her.

Perking up at her mother's call, she assumed Dutch to be gone when she picked up the basket and rounded back to the path - only to see he was indeed coming along by her mother's tugs to his armor. Oh...great. She thought with dismay but immediately shifted her eyes down and walked past and ahead of the pair. There was no lying she felt restricted in her moods when her mother was around; caging the tempest in her heart from coming out.

It wasn't like she wanted to dissapoint the vixen any more so than her sheer avoidance of any geisha training already did.

Not truly appreciating being tugged around, he lightly jerked away his arm. He didn't want to seem overtly rude, but he never liked being bossed around...even in such a calm and harmless fashion.

He couldn't help but shoot one last glare over at Nariko. He could only wonder how much of the military she actually know about. Certainly not enough to recognize corporal insignias, which he could care less about, but all the same, he could only mentally insult her intelligence, knowing full well what speech waited for him if he said anything out loud
PostPosted: Tue Jun 29, 2010 3:28 am

Folding her paws infront of her as she walked, she made mental note of that sudden jerk; well immune and adapted to the more cranky or rude types thanks to the colourful characters of her household. Not that he was either, but from the sounds of it he wasn't exactly having a good time here. She did feel a sting in her heart for the fellow, but she wouldn't admit it to him...she picked up he might not be the type for it anyways.

"Is there anything in particular that you don't like, Dutch, or are allergic to? I was thinking stirfry from our bounty of edibles which makes it easy to leave anything out. Not too exotic or anything..." Smiling sincerely, she continued to walk, noticing the glare he was giving her daughter....even she knew the informality of her choice to walk ahead for a Geisha's place was at a man's side and slightly behind. "She has so much to learn." Koyuki commented, more so to herself. "I have tried, but I only get so much respect with being her mother and my little knowledge of military life which she so desperately wants to be in."

Glancing up to the tall male, Koyuki once more turned her head to look forward. "Have you been an ODST for a long time?" She asked, noting the markings on his armor and from what Nariko said he was.

He stared forward, intent on getting this little get together over as fast as possible so he could continue his probably fruitless search. Still, he wasn't going to quit on his squad. He was too damn loyal. Ironic he turned out to be a canine in this instance

"I don't think your cooking could hurt me" he said in a gruff sigh. He wasn't trying to be disrespectful with his comment, but having eaten the worst crap the military had to offer, he was sure he could eat anything and live to tell the tale.

"Too long. I think I've lost count after 4 years...and that was quite a ways back" he said as rested his paws on his chest plate. With arms crossed, he tapped the armor on his shoulders and wondered how long it would take for her to make the food, and what he would have to do while waiting for said meal

Letting a low chuckle rouse her through, the vixen still wore that peaceful smile before speaking up. "Stomach of steel hmm? I couldn't imagine how bad it was till that comment." Not that it was much of a conversation between Jerome and She, but it still cracked her up. "Well that eases my worries then."

The journey to the house wasn't a long one at all, soon rounding the path as the house came into view. Nariko was already inside it seemed, as Koyuki motioned to the few large rocks brought in to sit as well as the picnic table. "Please, take a seat. I will get started right away; if you need anything the window to the kitchen is right there so give a wave!" She beamed and decided to totter into the door and could be seen making her way around the kitchen.

It couldn't have been more than five minutes past when Nariko emerged; in a kimono of blood red hue and black accents. Her hair was up in a more manageable style; as she carried plates and take out containers which would be given to Dutch. While she didn't hold the grace of her mother in the garb, she had her own fluid movement which worked fine.

He didn't really have much to comment at the much smaller vixen's words. He only let out a small "Mhm" and nodded his head. Even now he wasn't one for words, and yet here he was in the oddest environment ever, walking with what he thought to be the devil...and the devil's surprisingly nice mother. It certainly was odd.

He watched as both disappeared into the facility and nodded in response to the geisha's words. He looked over at a rock she gestured to and sat down, crossing his arms and looking up, pondering several questions at once.

It wasn't long before he heard the door open and he saw what he thought to be the mother at first, but soon realized it was in fact Nariko. His immediate reaction was a stifled snirk as he tried hard not to be rude, but couldn't help let out a few silent chuckles

Flicking her ears in his general direction, already she could feel the heat rise in her cheeks. Damn mother and her damn traditions....however a deal was a deal and she wasn't about to break the simple request that she wear the kimono at home when she didn't have to anywhere else.

None the less she looked over with a dulled sneer as she wouldn't be surprised if her mother occasionally looked out the window - surely she'd get some utensil whipped at her head if she caught such an ugly look on her face. "Laugh it up chuckles..." Well, okay, she wasn't sure if he was or not but she could guarantee he was laughing in his head.

"You want a water?" She asked as she removed the three water bottles from her kimono pocket, placing two on the table and motioning for him to have the third if he wanted.

"Ok" he said bursting into a small fit of laughter. He was given permission, so it wasn't like she asked for it at all. He would have been rolling on the ground where she wearing the makeup that he mother wore. He couldn't imagine a Spartan wanting to do that, but he was far from questioning anything at the moment. He tried to calm himself down, knowing someone would pitch a fit, more than likely the mother of the house, and he was sure she could give him a good word whipping.

"Sorry...sorry.." he apologized through dwindling bouts of chuckles, soon clearing his throat and becoming serious faced once more, as if nothing had happened.

"No thanks. Not at the moment" wait...was he just polite? He would make sure that wouldn't happen again...at least not in her lone prescence
PostPosted: Wed Jun 30, 2010 2:36 am

Rolling her eyes as she watched him break down into a laughing fit, her paws found their way to her hips as she stood and waited......and continued to wait as finally they seemed to die down. "Mmmm, You act as if you've never seen anyone get cleaned up." She said, before taking her seat at the table; glancing to the kitchen window to see if it was time but her mother's absence was indicator it was still working.

"Suit yourself..." She set the remaining bottle on the end of the table and tried to adjust the damn kimono once again; it was far too restricting for her likes.

Not catching his politeness, she gazed out ahead before tossing him a side glance. "Hey, Dutch. Thanks....for playing along for my mother. She doesn't get out much, and seems to get very excitable when she sets her mind on something." While she never had expected him to agree, it certainly was a fine move to do so.

"Can't say I have" he said with a half smirk half glare. He swore sometimes his eyebrows were fixed in a furrowed glare, but hey, he wasn't about to complain.

He turned around to face away from her, not really liking to stare at anyone for too long ,especially when your not on good terms with them. Nevertheless, he still kept tabs on her by flattening his ears back to listen. Something that was difficult to do in a helmet like his.

"What? You have the ability to give Gratitude? I'm shocked" he said sarcastically, paying really no mind to what she had to say. He didn't do it to play along at all. In all honesty, he only did it to get a nice warm meal in his stomach. Although he would be thankful to the person who made the food, that was about as far as he would get

"Amazingly so, i'll have you know." The vixen mused, scratching her small claw along the wood if the table to draw a little picture. "You know, Dutch, You may see me as just some stone cold b***h; and hell, you'd be right...." She wasn't about to deny the obvious, just like he was an insufferable a** of a man. "Yet I hold my family about anything else, I'm not about to speak ill to someone who's put a smile on any of their faces or upset them."

Not really sure they had anything in common to try and be civil about long enough for a conversation until the food came and he went on his way, she glanced over to the male before returning to her little carving.

"...Were you out in the field for a long time? If you can call space or plants fields..." Nariko asked casually, it seemed like he was from the way he'd been acting and his initial comment; but she wasn't about to go assuming things from her failed attempts earlier.

He snorted a little before turning on the rock he sat on, having his back resting against the table, and facing the person he was talking to. He couldn't say he didn't listen to her words, but..again, he could care less...she could preach to him all she liked, but it wouldn't be the first time he had ignored stuff like that

"Ya don't listen do ya?" he said as he looked up, slightly turning his head to the side to barely look at her through his peripherals. "Your mother asked me a similar question earlier" he remarked, looking back up and resting his arms on the edge of the table. "Too long" he ended up answering anyway since he was sure there would be something in there about not listening or not remembering or whatever
