"Lead the way." Atticus motioned to Blade who appeared to be a much better tracker than he. When they entered the forest, the raven kept his eyes and ears open for the kids.
And then the scream came, along with the dog barking. "Well, that wasn't too hard now was it?" He mused and headed that direction.
It seemed that within two blinks the boy had passed her and offered a hand down to her. She stayed in her current position for a short few seconds, dumbfounded by how he'd passed her so quickly. "Wooow." and it definitely wasn't kept to herself as she gladly took the hand offered to her. "Y-you must do that a lot..."

It wasn't too easy following the footsteps. But it seemed he wouldn't need to keep it up as he heard quite a ruckus up ahead. Furrowing his brow, he wondered what was going on exactly and headed in that direction as well. Before too long, he caught signs of movement. It appeared to be two of the girls, the dog and... a big rodent thing. A badger? Is that what it was? He couldn't quite remember. But whatever it was exactly, it seemed to be rather angry at the other kids.
Now was a good time for him to try something he's sorta been practicing. Blade continued his approach and as he got closer, he thrust his palm out at the beast with the intention to burn it to a crisp. It.. didn't quite go according to plan as a pitifully tiny flame spat out of his hand... which disappeared within moments of its creation.

Neko only smiled at Riyo as he took hold of her hand and helped to pull her the rest of the way up. It was still a slowish process. He hadn't quite built up the strength in his arms for pulling, at least not for pulling people other than himself up a tree, but it still helped speed things along.
"I live out here." He said once he had her at the top of the tree's large trunk. Looking over the other side Neko wondered if getting down would be as easy as it was to get up. Leaping down Neko landed...not quite as gracefully as planned, but he still managed to stay on his feet. Looking back up toward the girl he held out his arms. "I'll catch you."
((Neko is sooo going to get squashed XD But at least he can heal quickly. ))
Mitsu didn't seem to know what to think of the badger, it was still pretty big to a four year old, and yet still smaller than her. Its hissing and growling went ignored for the most part as she looked around for a stick. Once she found her weapon of choice she proceeded to approach the creature again, however, Blade and Atticus had shown up.
In a rage the furry creature turned its anger toward the boy that approached only to cringe when it first saw a speck of light. After a short moment of realizing nothing had happened the badger's anger came back anew. Snarling it bared its teeth as it stepped forward to swipe at the boys legs with its claws.

"help meee!" poke cried as the thing started to chase her and then..quickly lose interest. She looked around to see that it had went after the dog girl, before the mean boy before had come and tried to....do something?
It seemed to work, the creature had stopped it's attack. But then it decided to go after the boy again.
Poke stood there watching the creature. She stood there for some more and then...suddenly she was charging at it.
Scared? hell yes. Didn't want to be hurt? for sure. Wanted to run away? Of course. But then she didn't want the boy, even though he was mean, to get hurt.
"aaaaayayayay!" she said in her battle cry and swung her arms around.

Atticus looked at the two girls, then at the badger who seemed keen on attacking Blade. He knew he'd regret this, but instead of standing around and waiting for the impact, he quickly put himself between Blade and the badger.
Little Riyo stared down at Neko's extended arms. She wasn't really sure this was a good idea... "A-are you sure?" She asked, uncertainty clear in her voice. It looked like a long way down, and while she was light, she wasn't light enough to fall like a feather.

In disbelief, Blade stared at his hands. That was a rather fail attempt on his part, but he supposed there was a small bit of victory in the fact that he managed to pull the beast's attention away from the girls. Of course that meant it now had its sights on him.
His dark red eyes widened as he began to back up. The grip on the sword he carried tightened.. .but really, he didn't know how to use it. Even if he could, he had trouble swinging the thing. Though glad of the adult's action, he was surprised the man jumped between himself and the badger.
"What are you doing?" he asked. No offense to him but... the skinny birdman didn't seem like he could take a whole lot of damage...

There was a new target, but that didn't seem to phase the animal. It snarled just the same as it made to swipe at Atticus' legs but in the midst of this deed it heard the awful cry the human girl made as she came charging back. Its hackles raised on end as it shuffled backward quickly and stopped at the entrance of the shrubbery they had emerged from.
Mitsu stared as the badger started to retreat and looked to her stick. Like any self respecting little kid, she wanted to poke it, but now it was getting away. Maybe she could still make it in time! With that thought in mind, Mitsu headed over to where the badger appeared to be protecting the entrance to the bush.
Neko continued to hold his arms out waiting. His answer would have been no. No he wasn't sure he wouldn't be crushed, but he was sure about one thing. "I will catch you. No matter what." Apparently getting hurt wasn't a concern, it never really had been, which was a wonder why his mother had spent so much time teaching him medicine and herbs.
(( Atticus is more than welcome to stop Mitsu in her tracks XD She just seems to me like the typical little dumb kid that would make a bad situation worse.))

"Gee Blade, I dunno. I thought I'd just stand here to enjoy the wea-" The scrawny man was cut off mid-word as the badger decided to go through with his business and swipe at his legs. Luckily, he only managed to get one. Unluckily, it was deep and hurt like hell. "********." He had wanted to double over in pain, but instead put his weight on the other foot and dealt with it. "Mitsu, unless you want to be chopped up by that poor excuse for a clawed fur coat, you'd best get back here!" His voice was loud and serious as it could be, like when he'd tried scolding her before. Hopefully she'd listen this time.
Riyo tried to smile awkwardly at the boy's determination to comfort her. Though, like him, she wasn't worried about herself. "O-okay..." She finally whimpered down to him, not wanting to offend. Very carefully, she moved herself to the edge of the trunk and slid down then off, an involuntary squeal escaping her throat.

Atticus' voice rang through loud and clear. It carried the tone of the final warning. Eyebrows furrowed, Mitsu looked back at Atticus, looked to the badger, looked back at Atticus and huffed. In defeat, she threw down her stick and trudged her way back toward the adult. "I just wanted to poke it." She pouted.
Neko waited patiently at the bottom for the girl to prepare herself. He watched her carefully slide down the edge of the tree as far as she could go before finally she fell. The squeal made him cringe a little but he was still there with open arms as she fell into him. At first thought, this was going to work out. She had fallen exactly into his arms, but then her weight, despite how little it was, caught up with her and they both went crashing to the forest floor. Neko was sure to land on his back and held Riyo as close as possible to prevent impact on her end, but that didn't keep his arm from catching a nearby tree branch as well.
The sharp stick sliced across his arm and came dangerously close to doing the same to Riyo. Letting out a bit of a hiss from the pain, Neko looked to Riyo through scrunched eyes and tried to smile despite himself. "Not so bad, right? You made it down in one piece."

Staring at everything that was going on, little Blade tried to think of something. The adult already took a hit, and the beast still looked rather angry. At least the white haired girl had backed off with her stick.
There was really only one thing he could think of at this point. It was a rather stupid thing.. but maybe it'd help. Quickly, he dropped the sword to the ground and darted to the side before jumping up and trying to body slam the badger basically.
"YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!" he shouted as he flew through the air.

Well, it seemed to have backed off...for a bit. She saw the creature had bitten into the adults leg, and now it seemed to be bleeding. "Mister!" she ran over to him. "a-are you okay?" she looked fearful, unsure as to what to do in this situation.
She then saw the mean boy rush at the creature like she had done before. Mabye the creature would run away even more now?

"And it just wants to tear you to shreds." Atticus replied at Mitsu's disappointed comment. Had she not seen what that animal had done to his leg? Probably not. He was sure that she was too busy thinking of ways to either get her killed or everyone else.
When Poke called up to him, he sighed and looked down at his leg. His pant leg had a lovely damp spot. "I'll be fine." He reassured her, and would've given her a pat on the head to seal the deal, but Blade's battlecry made him immediately look to the last place they'd seen the badger. Honestly, Atticus had just been planning on running back and asking questions later...
There was a split second when Riyo felt relieved as she fell into the boys arms, but that was short lived when they crashed into the ground. She quickly sat up, red eyes wide open, and gave him a little space. The first thing she noticed was the big gash in his arm. "You're hurt..." Stating the obvious, her heart sank into the lowest crevices it could find. She couldn't stop looking at that big cut on his arm. Not only had he been hurt because of her, but there was nothing she could do to fix it. She didn't know how to bandage people, what plants make good medicine, or even how to make someone stop bleeding. Surprising, since she'd had so many cuts just like that. Usually she'd just wait for them to close up herself somewhere. A few of them had gotten really bad and she'd passed out, but she always woke up just fine...
Her eyes filled with little red tears, slowly streaming down her cheeks. "I'm s-s-sorry..."

Not expecting someone to come flying through the air at it, the badger froze. It wasn't until Blade was almost upon it that the creature decided it might be best to retreat but wasn't able to make it. The lower half of its body had made it to safety but the upper part of its body had been instantly squished under the boy. It seemly continued to struggle for an instant longer before it passed out.
Mitsu looked back as the boy charged the creature and all but crushed it with his body. Looking back to Atticus she raised a brow not looking pleased. "So....I'm not allowed to poke it....but he gets to squish it?" Dejected she made her way to the adult and sat down. "I never get to have any fun."
Why was everyone still yelling and screaming? Tobi didn't know so he kept on barking. The girl that had been carrying him had stopped in her battle cry, but as soon as she had the boy started up. Why all the noise?
"I'm not really hurt, its..." The red tears started to stream down her cheeks and instantly Neko panicked. He had never seen anything like it and he was worried he had actually let the girl get hurt. "Oh god! D...don't move." Trying to think through the training his mother had put him through he tried to think if there was anything he could do to help the situation......But he didn't know what the problem was! Was it her eyes, did she hit her head? "Just, lay down." He approached the girl, since she had moved away, to help her lay back without falling. "Did you hit your head or your eyes? I'm sorry, I didn't mean for you to get hurt."
Already the wound on his arm was beginning to heal. The bleeding had visible stopped and the wound began to close. Within a minute the large gash already looked like nothing more than a small cut.

The body slam nearly knocked the wind out of th boy, but at least it seemed relatively effective. With a cough, he sat up and rubbed his chest as the badger was lumpier than he imagined. Looking down at the creature, it didn't look like it was dead.
"Well you can poke it now," he pointed out before glancing to where he had dropped his sword. Blade was hungry... and now they had a big unconscious beast. While he had no idea what it would taste like... he realized he probably shouldn't be too picky here. So he got up and grabbed the weapon before slowly re approaching the unconscious badger as he considered trying to kill it.

well...if the adult said he would be okay...
She watched the boy tackle the creature and squish it. She had to admit, that was pretty cool.
Suddenly she realized she was still holding the puppy. She was to focused on the creature before she didn't even hear the thing was barking. "ah! are you okay puppy?" she sat down and let it sit in her lap
