"See you," Shiro called back. He was startled when Miyuki kicked his chair, but he promptly returned to his work.
After all, kids were kids, and he had spent enough time in the city growing up to know that kids generally were not very nice.

Lin had heard a thump behind her, she looked to see Miyuki running back to her smiling. She frowned a bit, wondering if Miyuki had done something again. Even though her child had only misbehaved once during the winter, it highlighted the odd fact that she seemed to be a bit... vindictive.
She took Miyuki's hand and led her out making the walk over to Elnara's.
"Miyuki did you do something?"
"He 'ad."
"Shiro? Shiro isn't bad," Lin murmured remembering how Miyuki learned that word.
"Mummi not happi."
Ah... that explained a bit, Lin wondered if she should n** it in the bud. She should... just how.
"Well, you can't keep doing that, attacking people," Lin replied.
Attacking might be a bit of a exaggeration but it wasn't good behaviour.
"Ignore them, just don't pay attention to them until it's all forgiven," Lin decided to tell her as they were nearing Elnara and Lore's home.
Since Lin figured it was just a sudden impulse thing.

Elnara was home with the two sets of twins: Storm and Starr, and Hana and Garrick. Storm was reading a book in his bedroom (which he no longer shared with Starr, since they had grown), and Starr was sitting in the living room with Elnara, helping her keep an eye on the children while the two of them worked on some sewing.
Since it was such a warm day, the window was open slightly, and Elnara and the young twins could hear voices coming up the path (what with their elven hearing and all).
"Lin!" Garrick grinned, dropping the blocks he was using to make a tower and running to the window. "Mama! Lin heah! An' huh baby!"
He stared at the two out the window. "Baby not little no mo'," he said, his tone amazed.

As Lin saw the door coming up she looked down at Miyuki, "We're almost there. Now, play nicely alright?"
She wasn't sure if Miyuki understood the whole scope of what it meant to be nice, but she hoped that Miyuki at least had the concept of it. She got along well enough with Aramarhic after that first incident.
"'icely," Miyuki nodded in agreement.
She watched as her mother knocked on the door.

"I get it! I get it!" Garrick squealed, already scampering towards the door.
Elnara laughed softly and set her sewing aside, and followed after Garrick towards the door. "Yes, yes," she grinned. "You always do."
She opened the door, but before she could speak Garrick popped up and grinned at them.
"Hiiiii!" he beamed.
Elnara smiled. "Come on in," she invited Lin and Miyuki. "What brings you here?" It was so rare that Lin ever came to visit them - that she was ever home, really.

Miyuki squeaked, she wasn't use to seeing children her age (Amalirahc didn't count she knew him almost forever). She ended up hiding behind her mother's leg, which caused in turn for her mother to giggle.
Lin chuckled a bit as she ushered Miyuki in, "Come on, it's just Garrick he's not scary."
And probably closer to Miyuki's age anyways.
"We had just been visiting the neko trio, when I thought to drop by here," Lin explained, "Besides you also live on the way to Helen's place."

Elnara smiled at Lin. "Well, I have to say, it's good to finally get a chance to talk to you," she laughed softly. "You're always gone. You've spent more time with my family than even I have!"
Garrick grinned and reached for Miyuki's free hand. "Come!" he urged her. "Come see ou'h toys! Play with us!" He tugged her towards the living room, where Starr and Hana were.
Elnara closed the door behind Lin and motioned for her to follow after Garrick. "You'll have to tell me how everyone is doing," she smiled. "Grandmother and Grandfather and all my siblings and nieces and nephews ..."

Lin had to chuckle at this, "Now that will certainly take a while. Even though, only a few of you got married, the amount of family members is daunting."
She grinned and thought about something before adding.
"You should visit again," she murmured, "Especially to see your great-nieces and nephews."
Miyuki blinked and she patted along with Garrick, she understood toys. Toys were fun, and she could play with people then.

Elnara smiled. "Perhaps I shall talk to Lore when he gets home tonight," she mused. "It has been a while, and of course so much more time would have passed for them ..."
Yes, it would be a good idea to visit her family again. So much had changed, she was sure of it - even what Storm and Starr had told her of the Southland and about their trip was startling, she could only imagine the ranch!
"But for now," she beamed, "tell me all about them. Start with those at the ranch, it's been far longer since I've heard about them. And Seeker and her family."

"Well....." Lin murmured thoughtfully organizing her thoughts.
There were times that so much went on that it was hard to know where to start. Especially since Lin didn't know how much of Haven Elnara knew beyond her own family.
"Ahren has settled with a woman named Shiara, she was a young woman rescued from the dwarves. Which is good, considering how people shy Shiara is."
Still was as far as Lin could tell, she didn't know Shiara that well to be honest.
"Adanedhel had another son named Kadmiel, I don't know his sons that well, but Ecthelion is all grown up. You probably know from mom that Alyse settled with Timaeus and had Jasmine, but since then had a second daughter named River. Who... is a lot like her grandmother Aliya I think... Naida was so happy to have a new playmate."
She wondered if it would become like Aliya and Feng all over again, though that would require far more visits than the mers have been making as of late.
"Rhea is married now, to Aurin Striate a Sky Elf from Amon Darthir, she returned to the island with him. "
She had to pause again to gather her thoughts once more because frankly there was so much.
"Daeron has now settled, I think permanently... for now in Haven, he's in one of the newer barracks... I don't think he's changed all that much actually. As for Seeker...."
Wow... now there was another set that was growing larger.
"I think the last time we talked about them I had visited them a few days after Celebrindor was born, but they've all grown up and Amora has had children, but I'm sure Jair might have told you that...."
She was still floored by that, mers and the desert was a bit odd to say the least.
"I think... Amora, the oldest married Elwin, and in turn had three children, Egleriad, Maeglin and Lalwen, and what makes it all interesting is that all of them inherited the Sight to some degree. Nothing I suppose is secret there."
She paused and again and then added.
"I don't know how well you knew Elros from Haven, but it turns out he's married, well he's been married for centuries but his wife is the historian at Amon Darthir so he left to be with her. I think that's it, but you know. For all I know I might have missed something."

Elnara laughed. "Well, I think that about covers it. I can't think of anyone else that I'm curious about, and of course, I don't know who else has changed so I wouldn't know if you did miss someone."
"How is Leyenda and her family doing?" Starr asked curiously, tilting her head towards Lin as she continued to work on her sewing.

Lin grinned, "They're doing fine, they decided to stay in the Borderlands longer, but will be traveling probably to see what else is around. For interest and all that, before finding a place to settle."
Since they had experienced now their first full winter.
"I'm not sure where they're going to go though."

Starr smiled. "It's good to know they're doing fine," she murmured. "I have to admit, I was a bit worried, what with knowing how prejudiced or racist some of the people there can be."
"Sad, but true," Elnara murmured ruefully. "But from what I understand, things are getting better."
She paused and looked at Lin thoughtfully. "But you never told me how my nephew is doing. How is Earendil? From my understanding, that was his first time away from the Southland too, while remaining in the Four Lands."

"Oh... uhm...." Lin looked thoughtful.
Of course Elnara was Earendil's aunt, for some reason that probably a bit more awkward than it should be.
"He's... doing well. I mean, it was quite a lot of fun being away from the Southland. We spent the winter in the Borderlands making snow forts and the like."
"E-dil?" Miyuki's ears perked up upon hearing her favourite person in the world, "Ada!"
"I'm going to whack Ura later," Lin thought darkly all the while blushing.
Actually she just might hurt Ura later.

Garrick blinked at Miyuki's outburst. "Ada?" he repeated eagerly, jumping to his feet again. "Wheah?" He ran to the window. "Ada? Ada?"
Elnara giggled softly, but she had the tact not to say anything on what was clearly a touchy subject for Lin.
"Well, I'm glad he enjoyed it," she smiled warmly. "The first winter can always be somewhat ... worrisome. But it sounds as though you enjoyed it as well?"
