You saved me from the vampire I was becoming. I was down to days, little one. I had hoped to die in battle so I would not turn... Or that I would be able to face the dawn with my prey and finally find an end... I was that close... telling her this shamed him and his head hung slightly.

You could never be like that... she stold him softly as her mind flashed with the images of the blood red eyes that had stared at her that night the ones that promised her death, a very painful death.

He clung to her like a child for a moment and then gently, he blew the images away and replaced them with images of love, and his own eyes gazing at her with want, need and above all, passion. He kissed her forehead and the closed his eyes, enjoying the feel of her beside him.

As he wiped away the fearful images and sent his love to her she sighed in and sighed contently. She vowed never to leave his side if she could help it. Azriel... I love you." she told him in her mind as she was slowly being lulled to sleep by the rhytmic sound of his heart.

The flight attendant announced they would be landing and the seat belt light came on. He buckled hers and then his own and spoke gently in her mind. Wake, csistri, we are home. and the plane landed, coming to a full stop and the belt light went off.

"We are there already?" she asked as she sat up and stretched her arms up. She leaned up off her lifemate and unbuckled herself before standing her legs were stiff from sitting for so long.

He smiled. "Already? It was a four and a half hour flight, love." he kissed her nose and helped her get her things from the compartment above them.
Once they were off the plane and standing on firm Carpathian Earth he smiled. "Welcome to my home little one." he said, lifting his hands to indicate the green lush fields, tall forested mountains and deep dark woods that surrounded them, fitting together like waves of water. "This is the land I grew up in. Now come, a train is waiting for us, my parents are waiting eagerly to meet you, if you're not too tired?" he asked, wanting to make sure she was up to it. The sun had just gone down here and the carpathian people were rising with much vigor and excitement.

I must look like a mess." she said and she breathed in deeply and then turned to look at her lifemate, she was a mix of both excitement and nerves, she just hoped they would like her, that they wouldn't just think she was a pitiful human, not good enough for Azriel, which was kind of true, or at least thats what she thought.

He frowned at her thoughts and smoothed back her hair gently. "First of all, you look beautiful, and secondly, half of the Carpathian Race's Females started out as psychic women, and you are by no means pitiful, you have faces terrors and trials no human should have to face in their worst nightmares." he kissed her gently and then smiled. "Besides, I love you, and you are my life mate, and they love you because you are my saving grace."

"I love you too... I'm sorry, I guess I am really nervous." she said softly and looked up at him. She looked around the airport at all the signs and voices, all speaking a language she didn't understand. What are they all speaking? she wondered, now thinking she should try and find one of those language learning CD's.

They are speaking Russian, Portugese, German and a bit of Romanian...no worries... If you became one of us, meaning of course, a carpathian, You would understand what they spoke, no matter the language. "And fear is a natural instinct. Never ignore it. You have every right to be nervous."
