You trace the scent of the slain zombie to the wall, make search checks with an extra +2 as you can discern their is a secret door, and another +4 as you know the rough location of it.

Darani begins lookign up and down the wall in the approximate area of the scent's dissapearance.
((I get a +4 from my own stat so with the +6 conditional, brings me to +10.))
3 + 10 = 13 ((well that was a crappy throw.))

You can't find anything, but you have a firmer idea where the door is. (extra +2)

Danari continues to search. ((now with a +12!))
3 + 12 = 15 18 + 12 = 30 ((I hope that second one works))

you find the slight cracks in the wall, where the door is, and you find a riddle on the door saying:
I am a box without hinges, lock or lid but within my walls a golden treasure is hid.
(you actually have to solve the riddle.)

The otter took a moment to contemplate it over and suddenly it hit her, "could it be Eggs?" She looked at the other two to see if that concured with their thoughts of the matter..

The otter sits there and decides to listen to see if anything is beyond the door before opening it.
((Listen check gets a bonus of +6))
13 + 6 = 19

((I never said "I put my ear to the door," to quote what I siad, "The otter sits there...," implying that I was stationary while I was listening to see if I could hear anything at all, because if it was something loud we would be able to hear it now, as well loud things are usually the most promising of a threat.))

The otter looks at the other two, "maybe the zombie had a key onhim, or maybe we need a real egg, like there could be some here in the bar." She looks at the two of them seing what their thoughts are on the issue.

"Search, otter, if you will. I fear thou wilt find no such egg, nor indeed any trace of shell or yolk. Twould appear yon portal was constructed with such magic, thus yon guardians would not be such fools as to leave the key in the doors presence."
