"Thank you again, commander." Himura said as he bid LT farewell, clutching the black box under his right arm, propping it against a tree as he reapproached his student. Himura would have to wait to discover it's contents, he had an impatient genin spinning Tonfas almost absentmindedly now, dying of boredom. "Bored enough?" Himura asked as he approached the boy, metal tonfas in hand. "Good, keep at it." The man ignored the boy's inevitable glower, watching his wrists flick each time the tonfa flipped, the long wooden end stopping either along the boy's forearm, or jutting outwards. It was at a moment of the latter that himura swung his left arm, tonfa outwards, at Masaki's forearm. "Think fast!" he yelled, despite holding back his speed. Whether or not Masaki blocked, Himura would follow up with a downward chop of his right arm, aimed at masaki's head, using plenty of power but little cunning. The boy could easily block the two blows, if he knew when to spin his Tonfa.

Masaki | Academy Student | Suiton | Doton | Mokuton | |Ninjutsu Specialist | Support ninja | Combo User | | Signature Jutsu: Chakra Akyo Ki | ------------------------------ Finally older snake guy returned, and Masaki let out a sigh when he said to keep practicing. "Yea This seems kind of pointless." He responded to the man's question. Then he told Masaki to continue... It wasn't exactly a complicated thing to do, so it felt like they were just wasting time. However Masaki knew that this man hadn't been ordered to train him, and certainly wasn't getting paid, he was only here because Masaki asked for training. Besides, perhaps there was some point to this seemingly pointless exercise? So he flipped the tonfa back and forth a few more times. Suddenly, when Masaki had the tonfa extended outward, the man attacked again. It shouldn't have surprised him, that was basically how he had been training Masaki until now, and was part of why he liked the man in the first place. He spun both tonfa back into the original defensive arm-side position and drew his arm back, letting the first attack glance off of his right arm. It was kind of weird attacking the arm directly but he didn't have time to question. The man's next attack was more direct, a head-strike, and Masaki's arm was still extended making it difficult even for him to respond at the man's slower speed this time. He stepped backward to buy a tiny bit of time, and brought his left arm up to block the next attack (not deflect) while his right followed up into a strike towards the man's exposed ribs with the now extended tonfa. The man's striking arm probably couldnt block the strike since Masaki's blocking arm was in the way. His other arm was facing away so it would take awkward movement for it to do anything. Perhaps he would get another strike in on the man?
((edited: I had some confusion whith where you were relative to Masaki, although he turned so I'm not sure it matters in retrospect. Changed for sense (hopefully) he is stepping backward instead since Himura would have to be an idiot to attack an outstretched arm from behind. Basically he turns and block/deflects with the left arm, steps back, blocks/catches the head strike, and attempts a strike at the open rib with the now free left arm.))

Himura was quite impressed with masaki's form. Deflecting with one weapon and keeping the opponent locked with the other was a great strategy, one that Tonfas were designed for. Most shinobi would inevitably be struck by the oncoming blow, unable to do anything besides mentally brace themselves. However, Himura's skills weren't quite that dull yet. Rather than flipping the tonfa's grip in his hand, Himura flipped the tonfa itself, his hand now grabbing the shaft of the weapon. Swinging his arm in the same arc as before, Himura caught the end of Masaki's weapon in the crux of his tonfa, where the normal handle jutted out, locking the weapons in place just three inches from his ribcage. "Good." He stated as the two stood there for a moment, locked in place by each other's strength, until Himura disengaged and took two steps back, flipping his tonfa back into regular position. The man gave another moment's pause before shouting "AGAIN!" The retired shinobi charged, both of his weapons swooping in at the sides towards Masaki's head. Himura held his speed back, but still, he sincerely hoped he didn't connect. He didn't want to explain to the medics how Masaki got the injuries.

Masaki smiled as he saw the man's new trick using the tonfa handle as a hook. Imagine trying to do that with a sword! It was beginning to dawn on him just how much the tonfa could be used to do. It seemed that he had chosen wisely... Well, it was a lucky guess if nothing else.
He didn't need to do much to react to the man's next attack, his arms were almost in position already. The attack was aimed at his head, so he just bent his dropped to one knee, and thrust his left arm upwards, pushing both tonfa away in one movement. The scissoring attack seemed odd, since it left the attacker wide open and wasn't that hard to dodge. So rather than attack the torso or the head, Masaki's right arm swiped after the man's outstretched arms, just above the elbows beyond where the tonfa could protect. A closer target should help close the speed gap.

Himura allowed the hit against his arm, the tonfa creating an audible whump as it connected. In return, however, the old weapon master did something even he hadn't expected to do: attacked without a weapon. Himura kicked out with his right foot, balancing on his left, more than likely connecting with the boy's face. He kicked the boy in the forehead, so as to prevent any facial damage, but it would still hurt, and be enough to push the boy back. Provided his foot connected, Himura would return his tonfas to his back holster, massage his now throbbing arm, and say, "Thats enough weapon training for now. Take a break." Himura slouched against a tree, rubbing his arm and wondering what had become of him. Was he really so old that a hit like that would make him back down? Or was he resting for the kid's sake, who by now probably had a few cracked ribs, broken teeth, and a possible concussion with his latest hit. Himura decided to believe the latter as the truth, but nevertheless, he would teach the kid some ninjutsu next. Hitting each other with tonfas without end only gets you so far.

Masaki | Academy Student | Suiton | Doton | Mokuton | |Ninjutsu Specialist | Support ninja | Combo User | | Signature Jutsu: Chakra Akyo Ki | ------------------------------ Masaki wasnt pleased to see that while his attack connected it seemed to do nothing of any significance. Fortunately he didnt have very long to worry about his failure as the man's rebuttal knocked Masaki over, and temporarily blurred his vision. Of course. The man did after all have four limbs not two, so disabling his arms wasnt enough to win the fight. The true extent of this realization failed to cross the boys mind however as he stood up again rubbing his forehead, and trying to avoid showing his pain. "Are my hits taking their toll on you?" The old man had taken far less damage than Masaki, whose pain was starting to leak through his thick skull and interfere with his focus. However he could not give up, now more than ever he had to 'win'. "I'm barely breaking a sweat here." he said as he staggered into a sloppy ready position. He tried his best to control the trembling of his protesting body, but he fell to one knee and had to get back up. This old man. He kicked me. He kicked me right in the face. Now I have to pay him back, show him what I am. This old man wont win this one. His mind parodied the old kids song in an attempt to boost his determination.
((This old man, he played one, He played knick-knack on my thumb.... sorry didnt see you'd posted.))

Himura sighed as he watched Masaki attempt to get into a ready position, nearly falling over from the pain. "Masaki, pushing your limits is how to get strong, but you have to do it little by little, or you'll just hurt yourself. Now, sit." Himura gave no more commands, instead moving away from the tree, standing in front of the sitting (or if he was stubborn, standing) Masaki. Provided the thick skulled child didn't up and attack him, Himura began with his lecture on Ninjutsu. "Users of weapons have one particularly significant weakness: Range. When you're close to your opponent, you can usually press them enough to prevent them from anything other than defense. But until you close the range, you're fair game to them. Thats why you must be able to retaliate. I've seen you use detainment techniques with your Mokuton powers, which is good, but that was for direct offense against a weapon user. We are going to develop your ability to detain a ninjutsu user." Himura removed his white cloak, revealing the dark blue cloth and shinobi vest underneath, hanging the prized garment upon the lowest branch of the tree he had just been leaning on. "I cannot perform the ninjutsu of trees, and water is best when fighting alongside a partner. These exercises will assume you are alone against a mid to long range opponent, so we will be performing earth ninjutsu. Tell me what you know of Earth, and we'll begin from there." (Remember, Himura is a weapons master, and thus, is training Masaki in what he knows. He doesn't know Masaki's profession as a Ninjutsu Specialist.)

Masaki | Academy Student | Suiton | Doton | Mokuton | |Ninjutsu Specialist | Support ninja | Combo User | | Signature Jutsu: Chakra Akyo Ki | ------------------------------ ((Sorry again, my computer broke. Dunno if you saw the Hiatus but thats why no post. Just one or two jutsu should be great. Would you say he finished stage 2 of Tonfa murder 101?) Masaki smiled as his teacher stated that it was a change in subject matter whether than an end to the lesson. Admittedly even with his ninjutsu ability his attacks had a tendency to be close anyways. A little understanding of ranged combat would do him wonders. It would also be difficult, he knew, not to get too bored by it. He still needed to get stronger, and working on ones weaknesses tended to be a good idea. Masaki's right hand formed a simple seal set. Doton. "Gunjikoudou". The ground quickly began to draw him in, as if he were on a puddle of mud rather than a slightly damp but otherwise solid patch of dirt. As he drifted into the earth, Masaki stumbled once more, but in an attempt to cover it up he lunged forward "diving" into the ground. He wasnt sure, but he didnt think he was controlling his chakra as well as normal. After only a second or two, he resurfaced a foot closer to his sensei and smiled. "I only also know 'Doroku Gaeshi' and that one that makes a puddle around you" (Gou no doro mud moat) He stated simply. "I've mostly just learned water and tree jutsu ooh, can you teach me an earthquake jutsu? Or one that'll build a massive labyrinth!! Also what's your name? I probably should stop calling you older snake guy."

(Not quite. We'll get back to that) "Older Snake Guy? I suppose you have met my son, then." Himura said, his suspicions confirmed. Apparently, Masaki thought Yamatano's ability to call snakes to his aid was a hereditary ability, not the result of a summoning contract. Perhaps the boy could do to spend some time in Yamatano's library. "You may call me Hatake-Sensei, or sensei if you prefer." While he left out his lofty official title, Lord Himura, , he still expected Masaki to show him the respect a student shows a teacher, and thus did not disclose his first name. "I'm afraid the ability to create a stone labyrinth is beyond even my skill, but your idea of an earthquake is spot on. An earthquake is the prime example of detainment utilizing earth ninjutsu. It is nearly impossible to sense beforehand, affects a wide area, and can be used to interrupt an enemy before they complete an attack." Himura took a few steps away from Masaki, and made three seals : Ram, Snake, and Ram once again. Completing these, Himura lifted his right foot, slamming it into the ground as his ninjutsu activated, with a cry of "Rikujou Douyou!". The ground beneath Masaki's feet began to tremble, not enough to knock him over (Or, in his weak state, maybe it was), but enough to make him stumble. In that moment, Himura dashed, tonfa's punching forward, stopping an inch from the boy's face. "Disorientation of the opponent: a weapon master's greatest ally." Himura put his weapon away, returning to his position. "The groundshaker technique is a small tremor at best, but its enough to knock a foe off balance or throw off an opponent preparing an attack. If you're quick enough, you can close the distance with your opponent by the time he's regained his senses. To perform this jutsu, focus chakra into your chosen calf. As you raise your leg, let the chakra flow to your foot, like you're preparing to walk up a wall, but forget any sort of chakra control. When your foot impacts with the ground, you will release your chakra into the earth, creating the tremor." Himura said nothing after that, expecting Masaki to know what to do next. (Doton: Rikujou Douyou no jutsu (Earth Release: Ground shaking technique)) (Again, himura knows little about masaki, and such, doesn't know of his ability to perform sealless jutsu)

Masaki | Academy Student | Suiton | Doton | Mokuton | |Ninjutsu Specialist | Support ninja | Combo User | | Signature Jutsu: Chakra Akyo Ki | ------------------------------ As expected, the attack left Masaki trying to keep his feet. If he fell again 'Yamatano' sensei might give up. It was a miracle, but with intense focus Masaki was able to hold his balance. It took him a moment to register the blurry tonfa less than an inch from his face. As his vision cleared he saw the man behind it, and that his mouth was moving. "- If you're quick enough, you can close the distance with your opponent by the time he's regained his senses. To perform this jutsu, focus chakra into your chosen calf. As you raise your leg, let the chakra flow to your foot, like you're preparing to walk up a wall, but forget any sort of chakra control. When your foot impacts with the ground, you will release your chakra into the earth, creating the tremor." That wasn't so bad. Masaki was able to see the handseals easy enough, and it didnt seem that complicated. Not to mention Chakra control wasnt Masaki's strong suit, and was next to meaningless for this jutsu. As he reviewed the instructions in his mind Masaki's natural ninjutsu understanding started piecing it together. It was a violent burst of chakra, not controlled. Like a shockwave. Heck it might even be possible to aim it, at least to some extent.
His hands slowly formed the seals, as he deciphered their significance. Most people didnt understand how seals worked, it wasnt so important what the seals were they just helped focus the mind. Whoever invented handseals was a genius, they were a perfect language. A smile crossed his face as he looked up at Yamatano. If there was one thing Masaki could do, it was this jutsu. "Rikujou Douyou" He spoke as his leg raised off the ground. Doton chakra flowed into his leg, a little late, but close enough. When his foot dropped again and slammed into the earth, it crumbled and shook, but didnt push out towards his sensei like he intended. Instead it just covered a small area directly beneath the boys feet. However this time Masaki was not prepared for the shaking, as he was too busy deconstructing the jutsu, and when the ground shook, Masaki fell backwards onto his butt. What was he missing? He thought he understood the concept, how the jutsu worked, but perhaps he performed it too quickly?
((Nah, I dont think he can take shortcuts until he actually learns the jutsu.)) support -2 posts ninjutsu -1

Once more he decided to attempt it. This time he would make sure not to rush it. His hands molded into the proper seals, concentrated, and lifred his leg.His chakra poured into it once more as he prepared it for release. Masaki stared towards Yamatan his foot crashed toward the ground releasing a powerful burst throughout the Earth. Taking his time seemed to be just what he needed with his shaking sore body. He felt the shaking earth push outwards and towards his sensei. Ignoring the tremor running up his sore leg he grabbed his tonfa and sprinted towards his sensei and brought the tonfa down towards his head.

(Why is he referring to Himura as "Yamatano"? And "Down towards his head"? Himura is a man grown, so unless masaki jumped from a roof, thats not possible.) Himura expected the small tremor, and merely stiffened his legs to prevent himself from falling over. What he hadn't expected, however, was for masaki to immediately charge at him. Did the boy have no patience? Did he want to do nothing but hit people? Sighing, Himura drew his bokuto, quick as another man would draw a knife, holding it in front of his face to block the tonfa. Not even moving an inch or changing facial expressions (at least, the part of his face that was visible, as far as anyone could tell), Himura simply said, "Good. Now, if you're quite done, I could teach you other applications of Earth. Or we can stay locked in place."

((Because I am an idiot. The head thing though, if he swings his arm from above to the mans head it wouldnt be that hard, his arm plus the length of the tonfa adds a couple feet to his reach, unless Himura is a giant it shouldnt be a problem.))
Masaki immediately withdrew, watching Hatake for the next lesson. He was a bit confused, the man had just told him to attack after the jutsu but his tone sounded annoyed. The thought didnt bother him for long though, and Masaki placed his tonfa on the ground for further jutsu training. It seemed this would be normal, straightforward, noncombat training. It was probably for the better, pretty soon he would be running on willpower alone. He did still have plenty of chakra though, so another jutsu or two shouldnt be that hard.
