"Well, I live fae my children, sure. They wouldnae be able t' survive wi'out me. They need their father. I also live me own life. I work. I gae out wi' friends. I spend time wi' Elle an' Zia an' me da tha' ain't wi' me kids. Elle lives fae herself, too, when she's not wi' th' kids. If if were just about th' babies, she wouldnae hae written a new book or gae out t' see Elst or do her storytellin' gig about here," Fao explained. "It's possible to be a part o' a family an' still be an individual. Aye, children an' marriage are a lot o' work, but they're also very rewardin'."

Lee blinked, eventually nodding a bit with understanding. Sure, she'd get considerably less "me" time, but it wasn't as bad as she'd thought. Then again, she couldn't imagine Ellandra spent a second of the day not thinking about her twins. "Thanks... Sorry for wasting your time like this..." Lee laughed a bit, kicking out one leg for a moment as she thought. "Kelly's doing okay, right? I mean, I've been sorta filled in about what happened... and he's taking it well enough, eh? Seems to like you if he even follows you to answer the door..." He looked easy. She hoped her kids were like that.

"You didnae waste me time, sis. A visit from you is always welcome," Fao told her then chuckled. "Aye, Kelly's a good kid. He had it rough wi' his mum and stepda, but I'll do what I can fae him t' make it better. He's always liked me. I guess we sorta had a connection e'en before we knew th' truth."

Lee giggled a bit, looking off in the direction the kid, essentic, and puppy had gone off to. "That's cute..." Stretching her legs, though still remaining seated, Lee looked to Faolan, a bit of curiosity in her expression. "I bet you guys don't ever need a babysitter, with Rhian and Ziazan around all the time, do you?" Why would Lee, of all people, ask such a question? So she could get kid-trained, of course.

"We donnae expect Zia or Rhian to baby-sit, but they do pitch in occasionally to help," Faolan said, looking down at her. "You think you an' Rory might like your hand at baby-sittin' th' twins, eh? Rory's got some experience lookin' after weans, but you prolly could do wi' a little crash course in it. I'll talk it o'er wi' Elle."

Lee smiled and nodded, clearly not knowing what she was getting herself into. While she'd been brave enough to actually hold the twins once before, she'd never had to deal with the sound of crying babies or dirty diapers. As fond as she was of the little babies -- and she'd never admit such a thing of any other infant -- she would likely be tearing her hair out by the end of the night. "Let me know what Ellandra says, I guess. I should head home, make sure Lauss hasn't burned the place down yet." She shrugged, clearly rather serious about her statement.

"Alright, lass. I'll ask her when she gets home." Faolan stood up to see her out. "You know, when you hae time like this while Rory's at work still, you can always come o'er t' play wi' th' kids or I can start teachin' you t' cook, if you'd like."

Grinning, Lee nodded. "Alright." She needed to spend more time with the Gradys anyway. True, she wasn't much interested in playing with kids, and she wasn't excited about learning, but both were things she needed to learn to deal with. Heading for the room the other three had hidden away in, Lee waved as she said, "Bye, guys," before heading for the door. "Tell Ellandra I say 'hi'," she peeped, waving to Faolan, as well.

"I will," Faolan said, giving Lee a small hug before retreating back inside.
Rory had managed to finish early on things and talked his father into letting him leave thirty minutes early to have time to clean up and eat before taking Lee out for the evening. Anson had him promise to work a longer shift the next day, but otherwise let him go, happy to see his son in a good relationship with a nice girl. The boy trotted home, wanting to see his bride-to-be.

As Lee reached the cottage door, she noticed Rory was crossing the bridge, heading home early. Smiling with glee, Lee skipped toward him, hopping and excitedly clinging to his chest a bit, careful not to topple the boy over. "Got lots of good news for you," she cheer, hugging him tight.

"Da let me come home a bit early so I can hae time t' make dinner an' clean up before we gae out. I gotta work a longer shift t'morrow, though," Rory told her, hugging Lee against him. He walked back with her to their home. "What's your good news?"

His dad really didn't give Rory any special treatment, did he? He wouldn't even let a half hour slide. As they walked through the door, Lee smiled excitedly to herself, not looking back at the boy quite yet. "Okay, first of all... I'm not pregnant." This was good news, right?
Lauss was in the next room, his ears perking up a bit at the couple's discussion. Lee was going to be pregnant? Or at least, they were planning for this? Good news, indeed! He couldn't wait to tell Rhian... Finally, little Lees that he could tutor -- he'd finally be performing his purpose at full-speed again.

"Um, what?" was Rory's reaction. True, he didn't want children now, but he was a little taken back by how happy Lee was to not be pregnant. Did she ever want children?

Lee turned to face Rory, her eyes wide with worry. Please tell her he hadn't heard her correctly. "... I'm not... pregnant? I-is that... a bad thing?" She felt her heart sink, hoping that he wasn't disappointed.
