Bjorn held his claymore defensively as the man jumped them. But he didn't even have to. The man hit the ground before he made it close. He turned to see the bandits approaching, and he reached down, taking Nalken's dagger and throwing it at the first bandit to arrive. It impaled him through the knee. Now, the man was unarmed, and one bandit was now disabled. Excellent.

Seeing Bjorn turn to face the opposite direction, Kai's attention left the fallen man, and went to the area behind them. A wave of bandits came running, seemingly very intent of ripping them limb from limb. So now its bandits? This just keeps getting better and better. Kai whipped open his fan from within his robes. Swiping it in a brisk motion above the ground, Kai deformed the ground beneath them, sending forth a trail of stalagmites toward the bandits. The trail ended before the first bandit, and from beneath him, a giant spear of rock erupted, effectively running straight through the bandit.
I haven't lost my touch at all, Kai smiled to himself. Seeing more bandits charging, Kai threw his fan into the air, where it seemed suspended. Closing his eyes, Kai proceeded to chant. Storm clouds began to swirl overhead, growing continuously more and more violent. It wasn't long before the first bolt of lightning stroke down, almost hitting a group of bandits. "The next one, I promise, won't miss," Kai taunted.

Hana moved her arm so that it was straight, her palm facing the bandits. A beam of light shot right out of her palm and hit the bandits head-on. James fired bolt after bolt from his crossbow. All of them hit their targets. "You would think that bandits would have learned to not mess with us by now," Aki commented. He drew his sword, though he had a feeling that he wouldn't need to fight, considering the fact that all the attacks from this side were rapidly decreasing the bandits' numbers.

"So you handled bandits before, Prince?" Kai questioned as another flash of lightning stroke down another bandit, singeing him entirely.
"My how much you've grown!" Kai mocked lightheartedly. Catching Hana blast another bandit with his eye, Kai said "And you too Hana! I see you've improved with your special gift!" Not everyone could expel their chi, much less use it effectively as a weapon. Even if they could, it would've taken them many years to obtain that gift. Hana was blessed with it from a young age. Kai's focus returned to the battle, as he instructed another bolt to crash down on a bandit that had somehow ended up behind Bjorn.

Aki smiled. "We deal with bandits on almost a daily basis. It's our job as mercenaries to protect the people." "Heh heh. You think? I never noticed," Hana said. "It's hard to tell when the only people you fight are weak bandits."

Bjorn engaged one bandit at a time. The first one was too easy: the man attacked him with a cheap axe, and the haft of it snapped as soon as the blade impacted his massive sword. Bjorn simply cut the man down and moved on. One of Hana's energy blasts flew past him, but he didn't even flinch. Her accuracy was spot on, and he was already out of its path. The next bandit proved more difficult, using a pair of swords to attack him quickly. Bjorn found that he needed to concentrate a little more on this one, but he was still easy to overtake. Soon, one of the bandit's blades flew in the air, and Bjorn slew him easily.

Before long, all the bandits were dead. "Well then, now that that's over with, why don't we head to the elder's house?" Aki suggested. Hana walked over to where one of the bandits was laying. "Not even a challenge. How boring," she complained.

"No." Bjorn said, cleaning his claymore and sheathing it. "There are things we must get to first." he said, stepping over to Hana and Aki. He put a massive arm around each and embraced them. "I thought you two had died." he admitted, letting them go and looking at Aki. That was one of Bjorn's rare displays of affection. "Your Majesty...if I may be so bold as to ask...how you made it out." he asked.

Kai caught his fan as it slowly descended from the sky, the spell being completed. "Pretty blood-thirsty you've grown, Hana," Kai mused. Bowing his head, he offered a silent prayer to the dead. After this, his face returned to his usual smiling one.
He smiled even greater when Bjorn hugged the two, though cringing inwardly as they started to cough from the big man's strong embrace. He stepped over. "I am also extremely relieved to found yourselves in this state," Kai agreed with Bjorn. "But before we hear the Prince's tale, I'm afraid we have something we must do even before that." Kai turned his head to Nalken, seemingly still lying lifeless on the floor.

Hana shrugged. "Bandits are nothing compared to Gailor soldiers." "Can someone please explain to me what's going on?" James asked desperately. "What is with this 'prince' and 'your majesty' business? And when did you ever fight Gailor soldiers?" Aki looked at James. "Er...Hana and I haven't been completely honest to you for the past two years. However, this is neither the time nor place to tell you the truth. We cannot risk it getting out. Not yet."

Near by Faren, Joseph begins walking to patrol for any Faren soldiers coming by speaking to himself "Even if my younger brother is free, he will try to fight again for Faren and kill himself..."
"I wish there was a easy way out of this," he said. "But there is no way the prince will come and rescue my brother soon, so I will have to free him by showing my loyalty to my officer to let him even consider to let my younger brother go." He stayed practicing archery on a target while he was thinking.

((Welcome to the RP! Glad to see some people on Gailor's. On a side note, I believe the capital of Faren was called Kyaro. And BTW not many people should know the Prince is alive.))

((Yep. It's Kyaro. And there are only four people who know that Aki is Akihiko: Bjorn, Kai, Hana, and Aki himself. Everyone else thinks he's a mercenary of common birth. That just happens to look exactly like Akihiko. And just happens to be the same age. And just happens to have a similar name. You know what, if the people would just put two and two together, they would actually know who Aki is. That is too much stuff to just be a coincidence. -.-))

((I know it's a bit early to be deciding this, but I think I wanna end this with an epilogue. I already know what I want to happen in it, but I'm not gonna tell you. You'll have to wait and see. ^^))
Hana walked over to where Nalken lay. When she reached him, she kneeled down next to him. She then felt for a pulse. After she found one, she stood back up. "He's unconscious, but alive," she reported. "What will we do about him?" James asked, trying to ignore his confusion. "I suggest we just leave him. He's none of our concern," Hana said.

"No, he's not. And he tried to kill the Prince." Bjorn pointed out, looking over at Aki. "Which reminds me, Your Highness. I regret to inform you...your new title is King. And I believe that now would be a good time to tell your allies..." he motioned to James. "Of who you really are, lest we lose some valuable manpower." he suggested. In reality, he was anxious to hear of what Aki had done to survive in the two years since he'd last seen him, running from the Throne Room with a short sword in his hands.
