Yu put the girl down, in his normal state he could probably take all of these down in a simple strike but he was unable to do so due to lack of power. Thus when he drew his Zanpakuto, it wasn't a statement that he was going to attack but a statement that he was going to defend himself.

"My apologies." Then he stood in position so that all of them now surrounded the girl. Quellu seemed quite puzzled as well.

"It seems they have some kind of defense." As one lunged forwards with a spear, instead of using his Zanpakuto to deflect, he instead moved slightly and trapped the spear under his arm stepped forwards to deliver an elbow strike to the face of the would be assassin. The strike made little to no effect, but it certainly made him blink allowing the commander enough time to stamp down on his upper thigh taking the bandit down to the floor. "...you should have waited for a more opportune time."

Feeling a new sense of growth, Yu swung his zanpakuto above his head and slashed it down diagonally on the shoulder of another shoulder. Unfortunately, and impressively, the blade met with a dull thwack on the armor sending tremors up his arm.

A quick counter and he was impaled by the spear through the left right shoulder.

"Argh." Yu groaned before jumping back. His right arm was now useless. Yet instead of the pain fading, he continued to feel a searing pain running all the way through his body. The young man stood up with blood dripping down his shoulder and held his Zanpakuto out.

"Everyone, aim for the gaps between the armor. We can't penetrate it directly." He assumed, albeit wrongly, that the attacks would work just because they didn't directly connect with the armor.

The assaian observed the battle, seeing how strong the Commander and his group was. He saw the Commander get stabbed, and laughed to himself. He thought," What a weak guy! I should find someone else to follow". But, he decided to stay and see the out come of the battle, just for fun...

Yu stood up, although he wobbled a bit and another flash of searing pain...

"Argh." He grimaced before his eyes rolled into the back of his head leaving him vulnerable for what seemed like forever yet was merely a moment....

"Yu-sama!" A young blonde haired girl called hanging off his right arm. Yu looked down a grin spread across his face as the girl beamed up at him.

"Iss Hogai, how have you been?" Iss Hogai seemed to be dressed in a kimono that drowned her with the amount of material, many shades of blue with patterns of dragons embroidered in silver. It almost looked like she was dressed in the night sky. The young girl, perhaps twelve pouted and stuck out her tongue.

"You left me!" Placing his hand on her head he ruffled gently before kneeling down to her level.

"Will you forgive me?"

"I suppose so, but you gotta make it up to me!"

"How does ice cream sound when everything is taken care of?" A hungry smile then a quizzical look.

"What needs to be take care of?"

"Something has happened to Seireitei, something that wasn't supposed to happen." Suddenly she became withdrawn only a second later her blonde hair blew backwards and around her along with the kimono. Her blue eyes turned black.


"It's my turn..."

And Yu found himself holding a Guan-Dao instead of his Zanpakuto. Part of the seal had managed to disappear already. That meant he had some of his power back. The spiritual pressure flooded the area and he struggled for a moment to keep his own power in check.

"This fight is over." He swung his Guan-Dao around his head and struck the ground in a standing position with the hilt. The earth shook from the power, but that wasn't the skill he was using, "On my count...run for it." If he couldn't fight them head on, then they'd need to go and regroup.

"Now!" At the very moment he said that, the ground started becoming moist trapping the bandits by swallowing their ankles up to their knee's. He'd simply summoned the water from below upwards creating instant quicksand.

Yu nodded briefly to Quellu as he picked the young elf once again. Now he was only a mere shinigami, but he'd just managed to unsheathe his shikai. Within a moment the earth passed beneath his feet as he felt himself tapping the head of one of those stone armored bandits.

Then he realized he was already at his destination. It was a long time since he had felt quite so...powerful. The feeling of pleasure at his power was certainly a new thing, which he had never felt before.

Placing the elf down on a nearby bench he himself collapsed as his left leg gave way beneath him. He felt strangely drained. Perhaps he had used up too much spirit energy too soon.

Pulling himself back to a standing position, he smiled pushing his blue hair back. Then he looked around. They were missing two, but he had left the armored bandits in a swamp allowing the remaining Shinigami to get out fairly quickly.

"It's a little quiet for Rukongai..." A bandit came skidding out of an alley to be confronted by the Commander.

"Oh...S-." Yu grabbed the man...no boy, only eighteen in appearance and for a konpaku that was pretty accurate. He struggled for a moment before coming to his senses that he was no longer touching the ground.

"You will tell me what is going on. Now." Yu was shortly after covered with blood as an arrow buried itself in the back of the boys head. Looking in the direction the arrow came from he saw nothing.

"We have to hide. Looks like our talk will have to be put off for a while. Sumiko...search the area to the east of us, I don't want to be caught off guard."

Sumiko nodded her head and quickly wandered off to the east. She walked about a mile to the east from where they all had started. Noticing that hardly anyone was around except for patrols, she quickly hid around a corner of a building until they passed.
