While everything else was going on around her, Aloe kept focus on her orb of spiritual energy and keeping it the same size throughout. It could probably be seen by others as her trying to be a show off, but really she was just getting lost in her own world and wanted to test herself a bit. And since the lesson was still going and Kaede had gone to see to another student, she thought a little self practice wouldn't hurt.

She was aware that her need to focus so much that she shut out the world around wouldn't be a good thing, so her little practice was to try letting her focus extend to the world around. At first she let herself hear the things around her and managed to take note of Yukiko mentioning her success. Even such a small switch of focus caused the orb to shrink a lot though, being almost the size of a pebble.

Overhearing Niku's explanation of how to let the energy go, it made sense of how it was linked to her focus. It was just too bad she needed such strong focus, but it was always a habit of hers that she would focus on something to the exclusion of other things. This seemed to be no different.

She could tell it would be impossible to keep the orb if she diverted her eyes, so with that, Aloe let her attention drift away so that her eyes no longer stayed focused on the orb and it disappeared quickly. Just in time to hear Kaede dismiss the class. She didn't react instantly to the dismissal though, staying where she was to maybe see what the others would do since she didn't really have an idea on whether there was another lesson to go to or whether people would go off to do things for a little while. In the latter case, she'd join someone to socialize a little.
