Riza slept pretty soundly for quite some time, though when she opened her eyes and checked the time on her phone she was surprised to see that it was still quite early, though the predawn light was already starting to show itself over the horizon. She sat up and rubbed the sleep out of her eyes, surprised to find that she felt well rested. She glanced down at the tan and navy ball curled up next to her, smiling when she remembered her good fortune from last evening. The young Cyndaquil yawned and stretched, grinning up at her new trainer. "Good morning to you too, Eris," Riza said, petting the little one on the head. Eris responded with a cute little squeak and by sending up a small puff of smoke from the pores on her back. Riza hopped down from the bed, not flinching as her feet touched the cold linoleum. Eris chose to follow after her new trainer and a quick glance around told Riza that her three other Pokemon were all accounted for, all still sound asleep. Quietly Riza gathered her things and headed towards the bathroom where she washed up and got herself dressed and ready for the day. It had been nice to dress up all fancy but at the same time it felt good to be back in her regular clothes.

It was too early to really do anything as of yet but Riza was bored of hanging around the pokecenter. So, with only her little Cyndaquil in tow she headed outside, prepared to enjoy the cool, quiet early morning air, but she was surprised to see two Pokemon engaged in what could only be described as a heated battle. A familiar girl seemed to be calling out to the two of them, but it didn't seem to be doing any good. Eris tilted her head to the side and began to amble forward, quite curious about the two Pokemon she saw before her. Riza put a stop to that pretty quickly and she picked up the excited Cyndaquil before she could go and get herself hurt. 'They seem to be pretty busy with their training, we should probably just leave them alone,' Riza thought, already following through with her thoughts. Eris scrambled up until she was perched up on Riza's head, but facing the direction of the battle, still quite curious. 'Maybe I can start training with Eris, I'm sure she's full of battling and contest potential,' Riza thought as she made her way through the city.

Katie smiled at Lilah's compliment, though she wasn't sure if it was genuine or not. After all Lilah had seen Genki and Noa trying to kill each other earlier and she was certain that behavior like that did not qualify as impressive. "Yes, I have thought about it," she replied. "In fact challenging the gym in this town is the main reason I came here. But I know that Roark uses rock-type Pokemon, and my Pokemon aren't exactly strong against rock Pokemon." Katie thought about Genki's strong mach punch, but she didn't think that one fighting-type move would be enough to take down Roark's tough Pokemon. 'I need a grass, water, or ground-type Pokemon,' she thought as she thanked Lilah for allowing her to treat her Pokemon first, and without a word she handed the two spheres to the ever-busy nurse.

Katie's studies at the Jubilife trainer's school had taught her mostly all she needed to know about Pokemon type match ups. 'Even though Genki's fighting-type attribute makes him tough against rock-types, his fire-type status puts him on an even playing field.' It didn't take too long for her Pokemon to get returned to her and she waited for Lilah to be finished as well, still wondering what she could do for her team to help her take on the Oreburgh gym. Meanwhile, the egg wriggled happily, warm and cozy inside it's homemade egg pouch.

"Well all right but lets make it a quick battle still, how about a one on one two pokemon each battle?" Robin suggested. Just because they had a little time did not mean that she wanted to spend all of it battling.

"Sounds good to me Robin. Good luck!" Jake said as he walked a little distance away for there makeshift battle field. "Hope you don't mind if I start this off? Lets go Baku!" Jake said as he release a funny looking yellow and brown pokemon with a big nose.

"Huh whats that?" Robin muttered as she did a quick search through her bag for her pokedex. Taking it out she quickly scanned the beast which was quickly identified as a Drowzee. "A Drowzee huh." Robin muttered as she looked over at it. Well she didn't quite know what if any advantage any of her pokemon would have over it so she just decided to pick one. "All right Brook I know you can make me proud!" She smiled as she tossed out her pokeball.

Robin's smile quickly disappeared though when she saw Brook. He was no longer the super cute Hoppip from before, instead he was a kinda ugly looking Skiploom, then again Robin did think Skiploom was ugly. "Brook! What happened! When did you evolve!" Robin yelled in outrage.

Brook himself was not sure when he evolved, however he was sure he didn't like being yelled at, and he was even more sure he didn't like being a Skiploom! Looking back at Robin he gave her a sad look and shuffled forward a bit. He didn't want to be out of his pokeball in this humiliating body!

"No Brook no you can't come back! We just need you to battle more so we can get you into your new better body!" Robin yelled using her foot to kick him back into the battle.

Hmm if he battled he would get a new better body? Better then this stupid one with the stupid flower on his head? Well, Brook wasn't really a fan of battling but if that is what would get the flower to go away then he would battle til it was gone! Doing his best to look ready Brook faced off against the Drowzee and the other boy.

"All right then, since it looks like you two are ready lets start this off! Baku use your Hypnosis!" Jake ordered. The sleepy long nosed pokemon lifted up its arms and sort of waved them at Brook. Soon a sort of purple energy started to slowly come over to where the Skiploom stood.

"Brook even if it is late it's no time for a rest right now! Avoid that Hypnosis!" Robin called out. Even if Brook and Robin didn't like the new body it was a lot stronger and faster then his old one. The new Skiploom easily avoided the attack by jumping high up into the air the breeze carrying his light body overhead.

At her side Black*Star was very upset. His number one fan was not even paying attention to him! He was going to become greater then god and she was just yelling at the ugly flower! Then again Black*Star didn't really want to be yelled at so maybe that wasn't such a bad thing at the moment.

"Star will you please just listen to me?! Or do you want Miles to win?!" Sam was frustrated that Star would rather lose a fight then listen to Sam, which was saying something. Miles, however, seemed to have no problem complying with Sam's demands. He seemed to realize it gave him the chance to beat Star to a pulp, and not get in trouble for it. He snickered at Star's idiocy. Oh if only she knew. Star, knowing she had to give in at some point, grudgingly spat huge globs of mud at Miles. Sam sighed. 'At least she's getting the practice in...' She sidestepped a wayward blob. "Watch it! Star, control your aim!" Star rounded on her. She was trying her best! That was the first time she had ever used Mud Shot, she couldn't expect her to be perfect! Miles, meanwhile, had snuck up behind her. The little water amulet around her neck was enticing. His eyes gleamed. Star sensed him, and turned around, ready to blast him to high heaven. But Miles soothed her with his eyes.

"Maannkk..." he cooed, gently prying the Mystic Water from around her neck. Star, completely under his spell, did not fight back until he already had it. She snapped out of the trance, and looked around wildly for the little thief, but he had jumped out of reach. Sam, seeing this as a window of oppurtunity, acted.

"Star, you want it back? Use Mud Shot, try and aim for his face! Miles, stay where you are!" As Star gathered the little globules of mud, Miles debated on whether to listen or not. He wasn't stupid, he knew it was going to hurt, and he knew he wouldn't get to keep his treasure. So he quickly ran away, attempting to scale the wall of the Pokemon Center. Star's barrage followed, splattering several windows. Sam winced, hoping no one would notice until she was long gone. She glanced around, and noticed Riza leaving the Center, with what looked to be a little Cyndaquil. She waved a little, but didn't look for a wave back. Riza probably didn't remember who she was, considering the circumstances. She just had a freaky ability to remember people's faces and the names that went with them. Turning back to watch Miles and Star, she saw Miles hadn't succeeded in scaling the wall, and was now desperately trying to outrun the alternating shots of mud and water Star was firing off rapidly. He was hit by a few, and was weighted down, slowing down immensely, enough that Star could catch him. She yanked her Mystic Water back, put it around her neck, and then hissed at Miles. He swiped his legs out and tripped her. She landed hard, and bit her tongue. She tasted blood. "Star, get up and use Bite!" Sam was furious with Miles for stealing and then not listening to her. Star, grimacing a bit at having to bite the filthy Pig Monkey, chomped down on his leg.

Keegan only narrowed his eyes in response, and continued to hold his hand out expectantly. He had actually forgotten that Kasiya seemed to be impervious or desensitized to his harsh tone of voice, stony glares and even his often out-of-control anger, and for some reason this fact infuriated him. His temper was one of his greatest assets (according to him, at least) and the fact that it didn't affect her even in the slightest just made him all the more angrier. "Enough of your childish games," he growled at her, even more displeased with her 'ultimatum'. "We have nothing to talk about, so just give it back already." Even though she waved his wallet within an arm's length of him, he did not reach out and take it from her. "Give it back, and get out of my way. Or else."

Or else? Kasiya thought, frowning. Wait a minute, is he threatening me!? She scoffed and crossed her arms over her chest, tapping Keegan's wallet against her side. Sure, she knew taking his wallet was a pretty childish thing to do but her past experiences with Keegan had taught her that she often had to take up dramatic methods in order to get him to listen to reason. "You don't scare me, Keegan," she told him, trying to keep her voice from wavering. "So why don't you stop being stubborn and just listen to me? Is it really going to be the end of the world if you do?" She could feel her confidence dwindling away with every second and she knew that if she were to lose it now, she'd also lose her only chance to try and fix things with him.

An almost unnoticeable sly little smirk flashed across Erika's lips when she heard Crenu's next command. "Just what I thought they'd do," she said lightly, tucking a loose strand of jet black hair behind her ear. "Tangela, get into position," she said quickly. Tangela, his speed enhanced by the bright sunlight, braced himself for the oncoming Tackle. Swinub slammed into him, and the attack did hurt quite a bit. However, Tangela was ready for it and as soon as the Pig Pokemon made contact, the vines covering his body snaked out to ensnare Swinub within their writhing grasp. "Now use Giga Drain!" Erika commanded, the unmistakable tone of excitement ringing in her voice.

A bright green glow emanated from the Vine Pokemon's body, quickly spreading throughout each of his vines. He definitely shared his trainer's excitement about using this attack, as he certainly needed the energy boost. Erika simply smiled and folded her arms, the elegant sleeves of her kimono tumbling gently against her abdomen.
PostPosted: Sun Aug 30, 2009 3:10 pm

Ouch, that couldn't have felt very good for Swinub. Giga Drain, that was a troublesome attack, but it was no Solar Beam. Still, the speed boost Tangela appeared to receive from the sunlight was indeed dangerous to deal with. But Crenu did not waver, and instead turned his attention to Erika. "That command just now, it sounds like you're getting a little excited. My dear, it's still to early to celebrate and you wouldn't want to lose face, now would you?" His attention turned to Swinub, who had cried out from the painful process of having he energy drained from his body to suddenly by the opponent's vines, being a ground type as well as an ice type made him particularly vulnerable, but he gritted his teeth and resisted with all his might. A single attack wasn't going to take him out of this battle, though it did leave him weak. "Swinub, Icy Wind." He wasn't sure how much of his stamina Tangela had restored, but that didn't matter. It was important to take the opportunity now that Tangela was so close to Swinub to attack. Swinub inhaled as much air as his constricted and weakened body would let him and blew out the frosty air with as much power as he could muster. If the sunlight could give Tangela speed, then he would just have to take it back with his ice.

"It's true that a bad type match-up will make a gym battle difficult," Lilah said as she took her turn at getting her Pokemon healed. "But a well-trained Pokemon can stand up to types that it's weak against." She sounded quite sure of herself, and as she went to put her Glameow and Luxio's Pokeballs back she pulled out a slender, mauve-coloured case. "I managed to win a badge from Roark himself yesterday afternoon but it wasn't easy. I even have two Pokemon that are strong against Rock-types," she went on, clicking the case open to reveal the new-looking Coal Badge it held. "Against experienced trainers like Roark and the other Gym Leaders, type advantages mean squat."

Jaeshan followed along after the nurse as she lead him into the recovery room, wishing with all his might that the little Squirtle would be sitting up, looking bright-eyed, and good as new. This was not the case, however, as instead the small turtle was still completely unconscious, though he'd been moved to a more comfortable bed. He was so out of it that he hadn't even withdrawn into his shell. "He's going to be okay?" Jaeshan asked again, pulling up a seat next to the Pokemon's bed.

"Yes, I expect him to recover completely," the nurse replied, glancing at the Pokemon's chart. "Like I said, it's mostly a case of exhaustion. All he needs is a good rest. And, someone to take care of him," she added, winking at Jaeshan before she left the room, presumably to take care of some other injured or sick Pokemon.

She's right, this little guy will need someone to take care of him, Jaeshan thought, completely unaware of what Joy had meant. He sighed and looked at the Tinyturtle Pokemon, very glad he'd rescued it. His body was still aching all over from all the swimming he'd done, before and during the Squirtle rescue, and even after the shower he still felt slightly chilled. He also knew that he should probably eat something for dinner soon, as well as his party, but he just couldn't leave the baby Squirtle alone. Figuring that he could trust Blaziken, Shelgon and Butterfree to look out for Weedle and Metang he released his Pokemon and told them to go and get themselves something to eat. All but Shelgon seemed to be okay with this, as the dragon chose to remain behind and sit with Jaeshan and Squirtle.

"No, it won't be the end of the world," Keegan retorted, his tone more venomous than he intended. "I just don't have the patience for you anymore, that's all. Didn't you hear me yesterday? I'm done with you. Twice now you've broken my heart and betrayed me, and I'm not going to let you do it a third time. You're all out of chances, Kasiya." Finally he reached out and snatched his wallet from her and tucked it safely back into one of his pockets. "I mean seriously, is it fun for you? Do you get some kind of cheap thrill out of hurting me and making me feel like crap?" He paused, suddenly very much wanting a smoke, but he continued. "You know what? You're just like your sister, only at least Mai doesn't act all cute and innocent about it."

Miss Prim and Proper immediately flew into rage with her attacks. She pointed an accusing finger at the poor Scuttles and shrieked, "Pound!" Her Lopunny, however, was much less to oblige to her commands. It looked to it's trainer, unsure, before leaping into action, a paw out stretched. She landed a heavy sounding blow to Scuttle's head who recoiled in response. "Lo!" it cried, a smug grin on it's face.

Scuttles flinched and shifted backwards when the mean looking lady was sudden shouting at him and he curled in pain as her Lopunny gave him a good knock to the head. "Skorr," he whined quietly, looking at Mia for her directions. He wondered why he was always the one who had to battle against the crazies. Couldn't she have sent out Rhyme? Or even Tangelo would have been a better option. "It's okay Scuttles!" Mia cheered, evn though a small, comical red lump was beginning to form on the Skorupi's head. "Give 'er a Poison Sting!" Mia giggled.

Skorupi nodded before using his stinger to point at the Lopunny's left ear. "Brace yourself!" the woman cried and Lopunny, startled by the shout crossed her arms and closed her eyes, waiting for the sting to p***k her body. When nothing happened, she peeked out at Scuttles and followed his tail to her ear. A horrendous cry that was mostly unintelligible erupted from both trainer and Pokemon as they spotted the mud that sat matted in the Lopunny's fur.

Mia burst out laughing, holding her sides while she tried not to fall face first into the swamp's mud. Their reactions were priceless, but she couldn't help but giggle at the Skorupi's antics. "Ohh, good one Scuttles!" Mia managed to say in between giggles. A sheepish look appeared on Scuttles' face. He wasn't even trying to be funny. . .

But, whether his trainer found him hilarious or not, he had yet to obey her orders. Quickly correcting that mistake he fired off a volley of Poison Sting attacks, each hitting their mark. Cried of pain could be heard from the Lopunny, who was by now as angry as her trainer. How dare this stupid little Pokemon get her fur dirty!

He wasn't sure how long he sat there in the chair next to the bed, though at one point Jaeshan was aware of his Pokemon returning to his side with Blaziken bringing him a severely over-sugared coffee and a tray of completely random food (including a golden delicious apple covered in nibble marks that could only belong to Weedle). Nevertheless he thanked them and tried his best to enjoy his thrown-together meal, vaguely aware of the fact that the room was lit by the warm, orange sunset light. Before long the sun had set completely and Jaeshan recalled a sleeping Weedle, Metang and Butterfree, a little amused to see that Shelgon had taken to 'guarding' the door while Blaziken leaned against the wall behind him, very much alert though her eyes were closed.

Jaeshan realized it was a little strange, him keeping watch over the young Squirtle even though he knew it would likely recover fully by morning, yet he didn't want to leave it alone. The poor thing had spent so much time alone already, lost at sea, and Jaeshan didn't want him waking up and finding himself to be alone yet again. "I wonder what will happen to you once you're all better, little guy," Jaeshan pondered aloud, cautiously reaching his hand out and lightly touching the Squirtle's forehead. At first the turtle shuddered at the touch, but Jaeshan gently stroked the Pokemon's head and it seemed to help lull him back to sleep. "Sure is cute," Jaeshan mumbled, leaning back in his seat. Suddenly curious, however, he leaned down and took his PokeDex from his backpack, eager to look over Squirtle's entry in the micro-Poke-encyclopedia.

The light smile Erika wore didn't falter. "Whoever said I was celebrating?" she called. "A good battle always riles me up a little, doesn't it do the same for you?" Her gaze turned back towards her Tangela as Swinub released another blast of icy air. Tangela had recovered a good chunk of his health with that last Giga Drain but he was far from completely healed, and the sudden chill forced him to relinquish his hold on the Pig Pokemon and he stood there, shivering despite the warm sun beaming down on him.

"Counter with a Vine Whip!" Erika called next, unmoving from her place at the end of the battlefield. Tangela nodded, each of his vines moving along with him as he tottered forward, several furry, bluish vines snaking out rapidly towards Swinub.

"I don't get riled up. Ever." He said in response, waiting for Erika's next move. Swinub did well with that last attack, he managed to break Tangela's hold on him and had put some distance between the two. But the blue vien covered pokemon still stood strong, much as Crenu had expected. He'd been using mostly indirect attacks up until now, so he was expecting another status effecting attack or something like it, so he was a bit surprised to see the Vine Pokemon coming at Swinub so suddenly with a fierce vine whip. "Swinub use Icy Wind again, maybe you can take him down with you." This was wishful thinking though, that attack was coming to quickly and Swinub less than perfect after that Giga Drain. But Swinub did try, he got into position and tried to gather the wind for the attack, but was slammed by Tangela's powerful vines, knocking him on his back and leaving him out cold. "Not bad for your first battle Swinub, held up better than I thought. But you will do better next time." He recalled Swinub to his pokeball and sent out his next, the ball letting out Tangela's next opponent. "Ariados, don't let me down."

If anyone could think of just the exact thing to say to crush the very last remaining pieces of her resolve, Keegan definitely could, a fact which he proved quite well with his last statement. Kasiya blinked and her arms fell limply to her sides, suddenly unable to think of anything to say in her own defense. It felt as though he'd just punched a hole through her heart and the pain seemed to radiate right from her chest right down all the way to her palms. "I-I'm n-not," she stammered finally, tears already streaming down her cheeks and causing her mascara to run. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. No, she wasn't going to let him get to her. She knew better. "You know damn well I'm not anything like Mai," she said, steeling herself as she looked up at the redhead once more. "Though being like her is better than being a mindless drone that will believe anything told to him, even though it couldn't be further from the truth."

She pushed past him and went over to the table standing along the wall and grabbed a couple of tissues which she then used to wipe her eyes, not caring that she looked a wreck. She wasn't quite done yet, though, and she took a deep breath as she processed her thoughts into coherent sentences. Now that she was a bit more focused she suddenly was aware of just how much she had to say. "I don't know what went on between you and Mike when you were kids, or even a couple of years ago, but I do know that whatever it was shouldn't be affecting us now. You and I haven't known each other very long, but I can tell you for sure that all the stuff Mike and Mai said about you last night is a bunch of crap. Sure, you can be a mean jerk sometimes but I think that's just your way of keeping anyone from getting close to you. You're afraid to trust anyone because you don't want to get hurt." Her hands were trembling again but she ignored it as she walked towards him, her heart pounding dangerously fast against her ribs. Slowly she reached up and gently touched his cheek. "You can trust me, Keegan," she told him quietly. "You just have to allow yourself to."
=-=-=-=-=

Though it was near impossible to tell through the mass of vines covering the Tangela, duking it out with with Swinub had taken a lot out of the Grass-type. However, he stood his ground as Crenu sent out the spider queen, Ariados. Erika, on the other hand, didn't appear to be as fond of Ariados as she was Swinub, though her sudden reserve might have had something to do with Crenu's last comment. The sun continued to beam down on them, making conditions within the gym rather warm, but it didn't appear to bother either Erika in the slightest. "Stun Spore," she said, again her commands sounding more like statements than orders.

Tangela nodded and rushed forward, still enjoying the effects of the speed-boost as given by his Chlorophyll ability, and he jumped up high into the air, releasing a golden powder that sparkled fantastically in the sunlight as it began to float down towards Ariados.

"Your Skiploom is pretty agile." Jake commented as he looked up at the flying grass type pokemon. "Still that doesn't mean it can avoid us forever. Baku use your Poison Gas!" The Drowzee nodded and taking a deep breath through his nose. The psychic type pokemon held it in his lungs for a moment before opening his mouth and expelling a cloud of purple poison gas. The gas moved up through the air heading towards the floating Skiploom.

"Brook we aren't going to take that gas! Show them your Bullet Seed." Robin called out. She was tired of being on the defensive even if it was only one turn. This battle couldn't take to long anyway, Robin didn't want to miss even the late boat over to Slateport. Brook himself seemed eager for action for once and still floating over the gas he spat out a bunch of seeds at the Drowzee. The seeds cut through the gas leaving a small spot for Brook to start his descent back to the ground. The bullet seeds themselves didn't do a whole lot of damage to the Drowzee, they were really more helpful in clearing a small area for Brook to land in and launch himself back up into the sky without getting poisoned.

"Hmm smart move using those seeds to clear a spot for you. Still that won't be enough. Baku lets use your Psybeam attack!" The elephant like pokemon nodded and held his hands up towards where Brook was floating around. After a second his eyes started to glow and a beam shot out hitting Brook right in the chest.

The air-born grass type let out a cry of pain as the powerful attack knocked him around in the air. Still he held strong and kept himself up in the air. "Hang in there Brook! I want you to use your Leech Seed on him!" The Leech Seed would help the small pokemon out and if Brook fell it would help whoever else she sent in his place. The Cotton Weed pokemon just concentrated and after a moment he spit several seeds out each of them hitting the Drowzee in the face. It took only a second for the seeds to start to sprout and grow all over the Drowzee.

"Quil! Cynda quil!" Eris cried, waving her arms frantically as she and Riza got further and further away from Sam and her feuding Pokemon. She really wanted to see how the battle was going to turn out! Riza wasn't giving in though, as it was still early and she wasn't really in the mood for people quite yet. Though from what she had seen, Sam's Pokemon were both looking pretty good. She got out her pokedex and scrolled through the entries, curious as to what that agile white furball had been. She'd met a few Marshtomp yesterday so she already knew what they were. "Mankey," she read, the sound of her voice catching Eris' attention and the Cyndaquil scooted down to her shoulder so she could look at the pictures. "A pig monkey Pokemon. Type, fighting. They live in treetop colonies in large groups. If one Mankey becomes enraged, the entire colony rampages for no reason. Wow, sounds kinda scary," Riza murmured, flipping the device closed. "But I bet that agility would be of great use in contest battles." Eris cooed and nodded though she had no idea what her trainer was talking about.

Having spent a good majority of yesterday wandering around Lilycove Riza was somewhat familiar with the landscape, even though the sun was only just starting to show itself over the horizon. 'Maybe I can find a Pokemon for Eris to battle with, then we can head back to the pokecenter. I bet the others won't sleep for much longer.' The duo wandered onto the start of Route 121 and Riza set the little Cyndaquil on the ground. Eris hopped around excitedly, running over to everything she saw in order to investigate it. Riza laughed, wondering what it must be like for the little Pokemon. Everything was new and exciting.

'So Lilah's not only won a badge but she also has at least four Pokemon,' Katie thought, unable to stop a jealous pang from shooting through her stomach. 'Here I am, two Pokemon and no badges.' She glanced down at the egg and sighed. 'Okay, effectively three Pokemon, and there's no rule that says I absolutely HAVE to challenge the Oreburgh Gym first,' she thought, feeling moderately better about herself. Katie glanced up at the clock on the wall, a little surprised to find that it was past dinner time, and that she was in fact rather hungry. She had no desire to have her dinner in the pokecenter but given the time she knew they wouldn't be done until late, and she also didn't want to chance ending up at a place that refused to serve her Pokemon as well. 'That was one of the nice things about being at home,' Katie thought glumly. 'All the restaurants Mother and I went to allowed Genki to come in as well.' She looked back to Lilah, wondering what her plans were for the evening. "Well...I'm gonna head to the cafeteria and see about getting me and my pokemon some dinner, even though I think I'll have to feed them separately. What about you?"

Train watched as Callum talked to Growlithe, and her face fell a little as she saw his ears droop, but brightened up a bit again when he started wagging his tail, hoping that meant he'd decided it was alright for her to be his trainer instead of the green-haired man. She smiled at the puppy as he trotted over to her and reached down to give his head a pat before returning him to his PokèBall. She nodded at Callum and said, "That's fine. I'd like to think he'll grow to like me." She laughed a bit and glanced over at the town as well as the mention of the Pokèmon Center. "Cool, mind if I tag along?" She asked with a smile.

Leon couldn't say he wasn't a bit happy that the confusion mixed with Muuma's final attack had made it so the Heracross couldn't get back up, but he figured that if the Pokèmon hadn't been confused, it would have been able to stand up still meant that it was a loss. Oh well, at least it had taken up some time, and he was in a better mood than before. A less, this-is-really-annoying-and-boring-I-want-to-go-back-to-training mood.

Leon was about to turn to leave when the girl he'd battled spoke up. "It's alright," He replied. "I shouldn't have gotten to angry." He could've included and explanation as to why it seemed to piss him off so much, but he deemed it unnecessary. He was about to make a small comment about the Pokèmon thing, but was distracted as he heard a shriek of terror coming from the ball, much like one Muuma sometimes provoked out of woman when she snuck up on them. He turned and ran over to the door, and sure enough, a lady was staring angrily and red-face at a Gastly that was sticking its tongue out and grinning at her. A man had rushed over at this point and was apologizing to the woman. Leon went inside the building and walked close enough so that he could hear the conversation.

"...I didn't think the egg was this close to hatching. Again, I'm so sorry, please, let me make it up to you, any egg of your choice..."

"No!" The woman screamed. "I don't want a thing to do with your or your filthy ghost Pokèmon!" She stormed off, her date following behind her dazedly.

The breeder sighed and looked up dejectedly at the Gastly. Leon chose this moment to walk over to the man and say, "Were you looking to sell that Pokèmon when it was an egg?" He asked right out, the same old bored expression on his face.

The man looked at Leon and his face brightened a bit. He'd thought that now no one would want it, after causing such a disturbance--people were still looking over and muttering things. "You want it?" He asked, straightening up and keeping an eye on the Gastly to make sure it didn't disappear again.

"Yes I would, very much so," Leon responded truthfully, looking at the Gastly, which stuck its tongue out at him, provoking a small smile to momentarily grace his features, but it faded quickly and the breeder didn't even notice it.

The man shoved a PokèBall into Leon's hands and said, "Here, take it. I'm still going to charge you, but not it won't be as much. It's not like anyone else is going to want it, anyway." He sighed a little bit before wishing Leon good luck with his new Pokèmon and then excusing himself, returning to his station and hoping that the incident wouldn't have driven all of his future customers away. Leon looked up at the Gastly and held up the PokèBall, withdrawing it and letting another small smile onto his face briefly.
