I had boyfriend like the obsessed guys that mtv is ranting about. the only time it would acctually bother me was when he would shut his ears off, and ignore me. I can understand the whole concentrating on a game, but being ignored is my biggest pet peeve, not to mention i'd have to drive a half an hour to supposedly hang out with him, but instead he'd play a one player game at me, or go on gaia. I wasn't neccesarily angry that he was gaming, just that I only got to see him one day a week normally, and he was ignoring me for a game i couldn't play with him.

Well...
The girls who started the Club in that article obviously have issues...
I'd also be mad only if they wouldn't let me play. 3nodding But I'd be GLAD to have a gamer boyfriend...

Swayambhu Gotta agree..I'd be mad, too, if he didn't let me play. sweatdrop Completely ignore me, though? Not possible. wink Umm it is possible for them to do that.. tis called selective hearing.. and if you're implying doing other things to my ex while he was gamning... knowing him, he probably woulda gotten upset.. plus you dun feel like doing those kinda things when they are ignoring you for a machine..... @Koshou : It is fun to have a gammer for a bf, you can talk about it to him, and understand most of what he talks about.. with games anyways (he was into computer games and I'm not so we had a few gaming differences, not to mention personal ones that lead to the exness).

I represent the singles society, but if I did have a boyfriend chances are. He'd have to drag me away from my game system. Especially If I was playing Xenogears.

My most recent ex and I are both gamers, and the only problem I had with his gaming was, both systems were hooked up to the same TV. And we never did find any really good multi-player games that we both enjoyed. So I'd come home after a day at work and he'd be there first and I'd have to sit there and watch him practically alphabetize his leveled equipment in Disgaea, while all the time I was sitting there wanting to play Legend of Zelda or Paper Mario.
On the plus side, if I could find my GBASP, I could always wander off and play that for a while.
Something else to keep in mind: articles like that are frequently sensationalized. I went to a college that was featured in Rolling Stone a few years ago, and you could feel the steam rising off the campus from all the boiling mad students. Rolling Stone portrayed us as a bunch of nymphos climbing all over our professors and having group sex. Given that nobody I knew had ever encountered anybody who either slept with a professor or had group sex while there, none of us were really inclined to believe that slant. So I'm not that surprised that MTV would be equally stupid.

I can not be with a guy unless he plays video games...its at the top of my list lol...One of the top reasons my boyfriend even went out with me is that I'm a female gamer. MTV needs to stop stereotyping people especially in all of their shows. We must revolt and not watch it at all!!

I think if your boyfriend would rather spend time with a video game with you, then you're a pretty boring person.

Ronin_Galiver I think I used to be addicted to video games. But I'm in boyscouts and I do some backpacking and other things. Now I'm probably addicted to gaia, but that's for another day. When I got into a relationship, I stopped being addicted to video games...on the other hand, I got addicted to being in a relationship...or addicted to caring. I'm not very good with dates and mushy stuff. I like to help people and I get nervous when it comes down to a good moment to kiss. I usually end up backing out of it and being embarrassed...at least that's what's happened with my last two girl friends. I don't have one now. I feel like I want to date, but I know better than to date just because I want to. I'm a long relationship person anyway...both my past relationships lasted about a year and a half. If you don't consider that a long relationship, just consider that I'm only 16 going on 17 and I've only had two "relationships." To me, and compared to the people I know, they were long. So...yeah. Now I'm sad because I'm lonely, but I know better than to get into another relationship for a while, but I'm planning on going to college and being a phsyciatrist, but I'm sad (not really depressed, I don't think, but sad) and I want something new. Good thing I'm going to Vegas in April...just for about a week though. eek wow you're relationship trubble is almost exactly like mine...exept it only happened once for abotu 6 months crying
