The baddie held on for a few moments longer, well aware of how long a kat could go without oxygen. Just as Aidan started to actually lose focus, though, Nicolau loosened his grip and then let go. Of course, he'd had no intention of killing the bigger kat, and just in case Aidan woke up, the baddie slashed at his lower leg. Thinking the taller kat would be unable to follow even if he woke up, Nicolau started off down the path after the terrified girl.
In the baddie's rush, the injury wasn't as deep as he had intended, and certainly not debilitating. Nonetheless, it would still be enough to slow the twinnie down, and put him at a disadvantage in any further fighting. Aidan would have to make sure he caught the baddie completely by surprise, or he'd be in trouble.
Azzurra was still stumbling away from where the two boys had been fighting, and the woods were starting to thin out. Before long she would be able to see the village where she lived up ahead, but she was still too far out to be able to expect any help if - now when - the baddie caught up to her.

Aidan said nothing as his leg was torn into. He wanted to make sure that the baddie was completely convinced. The twinnie had this thing burning in him. This feeling of hate. He hated the creature that was doing this. That was going after Azzura.
He pulled himself upwards, ignoring the pain that came from his right leg and ran after the baddie. He was good at stalking things himself, and so was being as silent as possible. Hunting the hunter, looking for a perfect moment to strike back.

Aidan had succeeded at convincing the baddie, who was not paying attention behind him, convinced that his opponent was no more threat. Nicolau quickly but quietly followed after Azzurra, who had left an obvious trail straight down the path. As he started to hear her up ahead, he slowed slightly so as not to give himself away.
The young girl stopped, looking around. She thought she'd heard something, but with her heart pounding so loudly she couldn't be sure. "Aidan..." she whispered. If the baddie had come after her, it meant her new friend was... was... She couldn't finish the thought. Instead she turned, and hurried on again. She was stumbling less, now that there was more moonlight filtering down, but she clearly wasn't going to make it to safety before the baddie attacked.

They weren't far from Azzura now. In fact the twinnie, who was still behind the baddie, could see her clearly in the moonlight. He wouldn't let the evil thing touch her. And as soon as the baddie's back was completely turned toward the bigger kat, Aidan launched himself straight at him. He would collide with the other straight on, pinning him to the ground. There Aidan would proceed to pin him with his legs, and pound on the back of his head until he was certain the other was completely passed out.

At the last moment Nico heard the twinnie coming up behind him, and managed to partially spin before being tackled to the ground. Aidan managed to pin him, but not before he had turned enough to be able to fight back. He didn't have any room or leverage to do much damage, though, so he tried to reach Aidan's injured leg to attack that, and free himself.
Hearing the noise behind her, Azzurra turned, and screamed when she saw the two male fae right there. Once she stopped to catch her breath, though, she felt her resolve start to harden. She could see the blood all over Aidan, could see how badly he was hurt, and she wasn't just going to leave him again. She started looking around for any way she could help him.

Aidan had the baddie pinned. And he was getting tired of all the crap this ebil little thing was doing. The twinkat pulled his head back, and the rocketed forward to slam his forehead into the baddies with as much force as possible. He was aiming to knock this stupid thing out. And thanking his sister for headbutting him so much as children.

The baddie hadn't been expecting that, at all. Although Aidan didn't manage to knock him out, he came close, and Nicolau went limp. He struggled to focus his eyes, unable to fight back any further.
The light this close to the edge of the forest was much better, and it hadn't taken Azzurra long to find a good stretch of strong vine right near the edge of the path. She came back to Aidan, where he sat pinning the baddie. "Here, tie him up with this." Tear streaks could still be seen on her cheeks, and her voice wavered, but she was fighting hard to stay calmer now.

Aidan did just that, he pulled back and tied the baddie swiftly with the vine. Making sure that the other wouldn't get out by keeping the vine clear of those claws.
"We'll have to take him in somewhere. I wouldn't want to leave him here..."
Even despite it all, Aidan wouldn't leave someone in the forest. The tall faekat looked up and saw Azzura with the tear streaks on her face. He finished tying up the baddie and stood. One arm grabbed her arm softly, and pulled her into a hug.
"It's okay Azzura. It's done now. You're okay, right? He didn't hurt you?"

Nicolau grunted as the twinnie bound him, but was still too out of it to fight back. He started stirring a little more as Aidan finished pulling the vine-ropes tight.
She managed to stay calm as Aidan bound the baddie, but once he stood she practically fell against him. Her arms slipped around his waste, and she started crying into his shoulder, letting out some of the fear and helplessness from the whole mess. "Yes, I'm fine..." she managed to get out between sobs. "I was just so scared, and I didn't know what to do, and I was so worried about you..."
((Don't forget Aidan's leg wound. ^^; Once the adrenaline rush wears off, he'll probably have trouble walking.))

Aidan couldn't help but smile. They had been through something together, and would come out of this stronger. He felt a bond with her... and couldn't help but have feelings for her.
"It's okay Azzura. I'm not going anywhere. Apparently someone needs to be around to protect you after all."
He laughed, though it was a little weak from everything that had just happened. The faekat smiled and held her tight, before his leg started giving out. Then he started leaning on her.
"Sorry... my leg won't hold all my weight."

She looked up at him suddenly, worry clouding her face as the arm around him shifted to support his weight. "You're hurt?!" She started to lower him to the ground so she could check it, but realized that she'd never get him back up if she did. With a quick glance at the baddie, she shook her head. "I don't think we'll be able to move him, if I have to help you walk... He's coming around, he'll probably be fine. He's nasty enough," she added, with a bit of a snarl. "Do you think you can make it into town? If you can, we should be able to reach my home, and then I can look at your leg."

Aidan stiffed a groan, and leaned on Azzura little bit more. His leg was really hurting. This wasn't good in the least bit.
"I-I think so. Let's try. If I pass out, don't try carrying me. Go get Oni. She can carry anyone, and I'm not kidding."
He chuckled a bit, though weakly. The twinnie let Azzura lead the way. After all, Aidan still didn't know the way to her home. He might not remember tonight, either!

Behind them, the baddie struggled to free himself from his bonds. He was loosening them, if slowly; even with their slow pace, the two would be safely away before he could work free, although with this footclaws free he wasn't in any real danger himself.
She was careful to take as much of Aidan's weight as she could, to better ensure that he could make it all the way. The going was painfully slow, and the distance felt much further than she remembered. Finally the town came into view. Azzurra pointed to one street. "My home is just up there, it's not too much further now." When they reached her door, she carefully opened it, and then helped Aidan to a couch where he could sit down.

He felt woozy and dizzy. Probably from the pain and blood loss. It wasn't a good feeling. So the twinnie was glad when they finally got to Azzura's home and he was able to sit on the couch with a groan.
"Ugh. I've never felt happier to sit down!"
Aidan was trying to joke, it was in his nature after all. He sighed and looked up at the ceiling while waiting on the female. This was going to be a long night indeed.

Azzurra rested her paw against his cheek, worried by the way his eyes weren't really focusing. "I'll be right back, with something for you to drink and a wet cloth to start cleaning your leg. Rest here, and don't fall asleep." Until she checked the injury, she wouldn't know how bad it was, and she was worried by the way he was acting that he had lost a lot of blood, or was going into shock.
