"Mhmm, homestuff, very much an aquired taste," and, honestly, she'd had plenty of time to aquire it, "made correctly it's one of the most nutrious things the masses could easily get at, made... wrong, ugh, just... never drink it warm, if it's been made wrong you can tell by the time it's cold," she shuddered at a few bad memories.
"Ooo..." Reid murmured as the tray appeared, having moved back to his seat via the underside of the table.
Passing Reid a sandwhich and his cider Chao picked up another package, turning the semi-stands milk quart like contrainer around, '1oo% Heanzian milk!' well that's fine but Heanza's a world not a continent you dolt of a company. After scanning it throughly and noting that there was no mention of He'ancele, and knowing her former place of residence there would have been if it'd been produced there, Chao poured the milk into a glass that had been delivered with it and sipped at it curiously.

"Nice," Rabid smirked and took a swig of the blood, plugging her nose, "Oh, GODS...if I had a gag reflex, I swear..." It was absolutely horrendous-tasting. Had to be Kyn. Had to be.
She continued drinking it, regardless. Blood was blood, and starving wasn't good.
Ike had quite a time with his sandwich due to the spaces between his teeth. A gob of peanut butter slid from between the slices of bread and landed on his chest, sliding down quickly and only adhering to his shirt.
"Gaugh."
Poe had lost interest in his salad almost completely, and was now rolling/stalking/repeatedly tripping over a cherry tomato he had on the floor.
"GrrrrRRRRrrrrrRRRRrrrrAWK!"
Suddenly, a far-off bell rang.
"Eif," Rabid cringed, "School's out. We have 10 minutes or so before we're swamped."

Chao grimaced at her milk, detecting the acidic taste of added chemicals and stressed animals, it was the mass produced He'ancele crap then. Ugh. She gave Rabid a sympathetic look and shot down the rest of her milk as well. Mass produced crap or not it was still insanely healthy, probably moreso.
Once it was gone she set upon her sandwich with a vengence, determined to get the taste out of her milk out of her mouth.
Reid looked up from his sandwich at his friend's grumble, taking in the lost smear of peanut butter. Curiously he poked a finger in it then dotted the area above Ike's nose, smiling at the orange mark that was left. Stealing a bit of his jelly from his sandwhich he added another dot and a line down Ike's nose and then went back to eating.
Chao watched briefly as Poe...stumbled past her foot then flicked her gaze to Rabid, "let's poof now and just eat on the way back?"

Ike giggled, but left his face smudges. He finished his meal and sat back, watching Poe scramble across the floor.
"Oh, my dearest wifey?" Rabid smirked, "We came here on a motorcycle, did we not? It's okay. You have time to finish." She laughed and placed her empty bottle in the centre of the table and watched it disappear in a swirl of light.
"Ooooh," Ike cooed and did the same with his milk carton and wrapper. These machines were always hungry. Why didn't people feed them more often?
Poe watched in dismay as his tomato rolled down a flight of moving stairs.
G'bye, old friend. You'll be missed dea--SHINY!
The little Kyn scampered over to Master and began violently attacking her metallic-embroidered boots.

Reid tilted his head and tossed the machine his own wrapper and the carton for his cider, watching as they were absorbed with a swirl of light. Where did it all go?
Chao paused as something scampered over her feet this time and looked down, quirking an eyebrow at Poe, "watch out Rabid, Poe seems to be gunning for your boots." The sandwhich in her hand was almost completely gone as the teen ate like a very neat greyhound of sorts, quickly as if within moments the meal would be gone. She'd kicked the habit but lunches in foreign places were an exception.
Smiling she popped the last piece into her mouth, licked her lips and tossed her wrapped and milk container into the center of the table, "done anyway, let's go."

Rabid laughed and stood, hearing the crowds begin to file in through the doors down the hall. She tossed the table a few Heldae and picked Poe up, clutching him to her chest protectively.
"Grab a hold of your little ones, dear," she smirked, "This is gonna be a bit difficult."
Ike immediately clung to Reid, either out of habit or randomness.
"Peopleeeees..."

"Wonderful..." packs of people, just whast they needed, Chao hopped off the table, scooped up Reid and Ike and quickly made her way around so that she was behind Rabid, ready to follow the older woman as she had no idea how to get back anyway.
"Lo's o'peoples..." Reid mumrued in agreement, clinging with one pair of arms to his Mu and the other to Ike.

Rabid nearby ran down the hallway, screaming "EXCUSE ME!" repreatedly from the start. She body slammed many people in the process of swimming through the great congregation by the entrance. She reached the outside, and threw herself behind one of the pillars that was not being cornered by 10 to 20 young adults.
"Everyone alright?" she panted as her new bruises faded.

Using Rabid's body as a sort of sheild for herself and the boys Chao followed closely behind, letting out a few yelps of "Excuse me!" when she was slammed into and making sure to keep the boys close to the center of her chest where they were less likely to be slammed into.
Throwing herself behind the same pillar that Rabid had she sighed, giving her head and body a small shake, "owo, that was worse than a stampede of, what're they called, Elephants? You boys alright?"
"Reid ki," he gave his head and wings a small shake as well and looked over to Ike, "Ike ki?"

Ike was currently curled into a ball, his knees bent up in front of Miss Chao's arms and grabbed by his arms, his tail up in front of his bowed face. He slowly uncurled.
"Yuh," he breathed, "Ike kay."
"Thank God we don't have to walk back to the portal," Rabid laughed and inched over to a pad on the ground in front of a large removeable slab of mall wall.
"C'mon. Yah gotta get on."

Chao followed and hopped onto the pad, setting Ike and Reid down once they were on.
Reid gave himself a more full shake and latched onto his Mu's leg with one arm, feeling like this was going to be another one of those moving things from earlier.

Rabid tapped her foot as she waited.
The building buzzed and clicked, before speaking in a mechanical tone.
"Is this--"
"William Faar or Charlotte Devreaux."
The message she and Liam had recorded the day they left Mei-Vaar was played back. They were laughing, happy, and rambling on and on in broken Vavvian, as if voice recognition was such a chore. Liam's voice was nasally and strongly accented, but not by Vavvian. It was, instead, the usual lilt of London's east-enders...from Earth nonetheless.
Rabid cleared her throat, fighting back tears, "Charlotte Devreaux."
The building responded by opening up the panel in its side and regurgitating a familiar motorcycle.
"When you buy a vehicle," Rabid began explaining as she grabbed the bike and rolled it off the pad, "You go to that first building, there and record your voice. It's stored in a chip in every building in Mei-Vaar and the bike. Any time you drop it off, your weight is recorded. It recognizes the weight when you pick it up, and asks for your name. If it doesn't recognize your voice, you don't get it back."
She was more than hoping to change the subject horribly, or t least that Chao wasn't very observant.
Ike quickly skittered off the pad, his ears folded back. Who in the world was that man, and why was he inside the building?!

Chao tilted her head, listening carefully, but as per usual the words were merely broken sounds to her, no discernable meanings, but whoever this 'William' person had been, he'd sounded happy with Rabid.
She glanced to her friend, noted the pained expression and the quick change of topic but didn't comment, "interesting... seems like a good system," Chao plastered on a grin and watched as the bike was spit out, "could've used that back 'home'," though perhaps her once home had it. Heanza, mechanized, now there was a thought. She snorted to herself. Yeah, no, she couldn't see it happening.
Another glance Rabid's way, "Charlotte, hrm? So where'd 'Rabid' come into this?"
Reid gave the building his own curious look, recognizing one of the voices as Ike's Mu's, and Ike's Mu was here so this must've been another 'recording', but the other voices were completely foreign.

"Unless your voice changes a half step," Rabid smirked and began explaining, "Well, you see, I was a violent little sprog. Some big kid punched Liam, there, and I removed a chunk of his flesh. Hence the nickname." She placed Poe and her bag in the back compartment and removed a helmet from her seat. She shoved it over her head and mounted the bike. They'd have to leave now if they didn't want to run anyone over.
Ike put on a helmet from the sidebucket and leaped in, getting the hint full well. He motioned for Reid to get in and leaned bac cooly. This bike-thing was fun...

"So don't buy a vechicle mid-puberty then?" Chao asked, putting on her helmet and hopping on. She laughed at the explanation, "nice, a good way to earn a nickname."
Reid hopped in, putting on his own helmet and taking his spot, sitting up so he'd be able to watch the scenery pass once the bike got going.
