Elistral laughed again and opened her eyes. She watched the blurring shades of green fly by. "Mm-hm. I wish I could run this fast...on branches..."

"Maybe later, after I finish with my sword and bow training." Elistral replied, looking ahead now. "So, my mom's in there. Shouldn't be too hard, right?"

"Looks can be decieveing." -I look around- "There aren't just demons here. Beasts, evil men, even a dragon this shall be interesting at most. Whats even worse is that their expecting us. See that one by the big tent? Hes looking at the tree line for movement." -I point towards the demon-

"A dragon?" Elistral whispered excitedly, but she didn't dare to look in case they were noticed. Then she saw the demon by the tent standing guard. He didn't seem too smart, maybe they'd be able to sneak past him. "Mr. Strider, you were talking about magic, right? Would they see us if we turned invisible? Or we could go around them too."

"They probably wouldn't but magic is unstable and you could end up staying invisible.....permanently. So I suggest the regulaer fashion of doing things." -He sets fire to a tent nearby and takes him and Elstral to where they wouldn't be spotted in the commotion- "That should keep them busy."

"But, what about the people in there?" Elistral wrinkled her nose when she smelled burning flesh and heard screams. Even though they were demons, she couldn't help but feel sorry for them. She muttered a quick prayer to the gods and hopped off of Strider's back. A familar aura pulsed nearby, and she turned her head in that direction. "My mom's that way." She said, changing the subject for necessity and to keep her mid off what happened. She needed to be strong, if not for her, then for her mother.

Elistral giggled, but smoke was in the air and a squeak came out. She put a hand over her mouth a little embarrassed and returned Strider's bow, not one to curtsy or anything. Walking in one direction, she put a hand in her pocket to her brooch. It helped her concentrate sometimes, and this time it lead her to a tent near the back of the camp. The tent itself looked roughly like burlap, with holes and tears in the fabric every so often. She stopped outside of the sealed entrance, and waited for her friend to catch up.
Veil stared at the girl oddly for a while, but she didn't answer. So he turned and left her standing on the beach, walking away briskly. He ran a hand through his hand and looked up at the sun, thinking about the man who'd said he was his uncle. He didn't look old, but then again, he'd never seen many people around where he lived.

Orcus caught the light smell of demon flesh in the breeze and loved every second of it. Orcus slowed down, almost to a halt. He had to keep far from the actual demons. He hadn't eaten good meat for months but he had to keep away from the stuff.

Elistral reached a hand up out of her pocket to tug nervously at the tube Orcus had given her, unsure. "I think my mom's in here." She looked up at Strider for a moment, then back at the tent. She could definitely sense her mother in there, but the aura felt different now. Auras changed over some time, and elves especially were sensitive to that magical form of life-force. She took a deep breath, holding back a cough and ducked through the tent's flaps. Four small torches were lit in each corner, casting a dim light in the unusually dark tent. She thought she could make out a figure to the side, standing in the darkness. But her gaze wandered over to her mother at the opposite end across from her. "M-mother!" She exclaimed, starting towards her.
Veil looked out across the water, like he had before. Suddenly swimming didn't seem like a bad idea, he thought, feeling a little hot. He tugged off his jacket and shirt, then took his shoes off, preferring to keep them dry. Wading into the water, he waited until it reached his stomach before he dove beneath. He swam easily, keeping his human form but still going as fast as any of the Mer People.

-As Elistral ran to her mother a flash occured on the floor. It was a spell circle and it was about to explode- "Elistral no!" -Strider lept and caught Elistral and ran and put her mother onto the ground and put himself over both of them so his jacket was over all of them. Then the circle exploded and debris went over everything. Even the three of them but Strider stood up to reveal no sctratches on any of them- "Is everyone ok?"

Elistral coughed and held onto her sword tighter. "S-sorry." She said, standing up with her mother. "I just...I wasn't thinking. I should've--" Her mother pulled her into a hug, wrapping her arms around her and the sword. Then she looked up at Strider. "You came." She said disbelievingly, then shook her head. "You shouldn't have though, this was a trap." Elistral looked up at her mother, then at Strider, and finally at the demons starting to come into the tent. "Huh?" Movement caught her eye and she saw someone swirling their hands in the air, a sorcerer.
Veil went on swimming, angling downward when the ground declined. He nodded to a few of the people that saw him, but otherwise didn't talk to them.

Orcus was standing where the camp met the woods near the tent from which a mighty explosion had errupted. He focused his sights on the body of a human that was possed by a demon sorcerer. Will you collect the souls for me? Will i be able to fill my time with the battles of heroes, will they be able to finish my simplest tasks? The thoughts rushed into his head.
