"Wonderful," Miledy muttered as the situation seemed to get worse and worse. She could hear cries about her as people became injured. When the loud yell for "Retreat!" came to her ears, she carefully did so, making sure to help cover for the injured around her. The sight of a dragon once again made her almost reminisce about the last campaign she was in with Roy. Poor Guinivere's brother, Zephidel, had decided that dragons instead of humans should reign and live in the world.

They ran and ran, fleeing the morph pursuers. But the closer they got to the castle, the more her heard hurt. She couldn't see straight anymore; it was a good thing Canas was carrying her.
"Something's . . . wrong," she began, thinking out loud, though most likely no one could hear her over the chaos. But she couldn't think over the pain and her fatigue.
"Danger. . . ."
Had the castle been compromised? Were morphs there too? What was happening?
She tried to speak, tried to warn Canas, but the words wouldn't come. The pain was too much. Her eyes drifted closed.
"Roy. . . ."
She passed out, everything fading into darkness.

"We can't go there either... the castle." Sue muttered weakly as she looked back at her comrades. "Haven't you noticed that the other citizens of Eyris aren't trying to help us, even though... we've fought for them all this time...? The Watch shoulda... reinforced us. It's likely that whomever is doing this got to them."
"What... what... what did you say?" Leon rode alongside his fellow member of cavalry, not believing his ears. Back in Archanea, his group of soldiers pillaged, plundered and watched the strong survive and the weak perish. His Captain couldn't be doing the same... not now... not ever... not Dan... not ... not Magnet... everyone...
It was true though. There was no backup despite the clearly visible numbers. Eyris itself was not safe. Grimly, as a Watchman and knight, Leon muttered the orders to the group. "Everyone... we must leave our homeland for now and regroup. Our city... our beloved Eyris... has been taken."

______________ Castello wrenched himself back to his senses as he watched them all flee. In his bloodlust, he had torn through several of Mika's new morphs himself, which was honestly kind of embarrassing.
Maim. Kill! DEVOUR!
He screeched and flailed, dragging himself back from the abyss in his own mind. His form flickered and disappeared as he dragged himself back into his laguz form, dropping to his hands and knees.
Get away. Got to get away.
He took off into the trees, not bothering to fly, just running as fast as he could, wheezing and panting, trying to escape insanity.

Our beloveed Eyris...has been taken over. Once hearing this, Ziaram stopped right where he was. "Damn...how can we stop them then? If they took over the city, then what can we do? Just lay around until we die? If we have enough supplies, then I say we continue fighiting, and wittle their forces, or die trying. Yet we do need a good plan first. Do we have a tactician with us?"

Canas Heard this, and he almost dropped Ninian out of horror. Luckily he didn't. "No where to run...Enemies on all sides. What do we do now? We can run, but they will catch us. That Raven..." He turned to the others Handing Ninian to Leon. He smiled sadly. "I swear I will keep you all safe. Go. I will hold them here."

Annis' eyes widened. She had started to follow the others towards safety, where they felt the castle would allow them to stay without being maimed by all these enemies, but now that raven beast was running. He wasn't in that huge form anymore; he was Castello now.
Got you.
Annis streamlined again and flew after him, hands empty. She didn't need her daggers just yet. A few branches whipped against her face or shoulders, leaving scrapes, but she caught up to the man easily; he was on foot, after all. She didn't try to get in front of him, just stretched out a hand and managed to grab onto his collar. The change in momentum, though, sent her crashing over his shoulder and into a tree trunk ahead of them. "Augh! Ow... dammit!" Annis pulled herself rapidly to her feet, rubbing her forehead. She could already feel the bruise spreading there. Her eyes warily went to the laguz; her hands were where she could reach her weapons easily, but she didn't draw them yet. She just watched Castello.
After that display, she didn't feel safe leaving him to his own devices.

"Huh? What, now? Eyris, taken?"
He was in pain, but he wasn't unconscious. Jin took in every word, and admitted they had a point. What the hell was Eyris DOING when a full-scale fight was going on? He wanted to go look, but again, the bum foot. An assassin with a twisted ankle? Ha, what a joke. In his case, a very unfunny joke. No, he'd just have to go with what they said for the moment. He just wished he hadn't left his staff back in the woods. Would've been nice to have about now.

Valter and Kain were especially surprised when Castello returned to his Laguz form, though not unpleasantly so. "Whew... I'm glad we don't have to risk fighting him any more," Valter mumbled to the wyvern. "Let's go, Kain. We can... we can make sure that the Morphs... d-don't... gah... I can hardly even speak..." The wyvern knight almost collapsed on his mount's back from pure exhaustion, and Kain, not doing too well himself, was barely even staying in the air. Somehow, however, the pair managed to follow the others in retreat.

"That's funny, I didn't know assassins can use staffs," Shinon said as he stopped by Jin.
"Well since that girl in purple and blue didn't pick this up here" Shinon handed Jin a Mend staff.
"Use that to get better and hurry up." Shinon ran up ahead.

As he was handed Ninian, Leon realized he couldn't be dwelling on his past and present. He remembered his reason for becoming a watchman, to protect ALL citizens, the FEF clan included. He was going to do his duty. Captain Dan would understand. "We go North..." he pointed his poleaxe forward.
"North..." Sue echoed. She remembered that's where a forest was... with a mountain range behind. Good for terrain. "We won't go into any towns though... we'll just make camp. We'll have to hunt and forage." The nomad spoke calmly. For now, the morphs were quite calm, but that was probably about to change. Now was the time to retreat and regroup.

Assassin? Aw, geez. Was it THAT obvious?
Jin paused to think about that... well, he'd rushed in with no staff, and yet quite a few morphs had fallen by his blades, and if snipers could see him in the dim light of sunset/night...
Well. He supposed at this point, the cat was out of the bag.
"It's... a long story," Jin said to Shinon, picking up the staff. "But thanks. I can use this."

"Kain, let me down. Please." Valter had just realized just how tired Kain must have been. Kain agreed, only half-reluctantly. The two landed a bit ahead of the group so they could catch their breath. Then, when their allies were only a short ways away, they started walking again, but at a slow pace. when the others finally caught up, they were forced to match their pace. Valter walked next to Sue, with Kain trailing a little farther behind.
"Are you alright, Sue? You don't look very good..."
