((Kuro...Lightning hits the highest GROUNDED object. As in...something that's touching the ground.. gonk And...I forgot to mention that Angela is....kind of like a walking lightning rod. XD)

Toshi's lightning lanced through the air straight down. It passed straight through the vohr, leaving behind the smell of singed fur and electricity. The charbroiled vohr fell to the ground with a distinct crunchy sound before it began to dissolve into shadows.

But before the lightning bolt actually hit the ground it made a sharp, unnatural arch in the air and streaked toward Angela.

"Bloody--" Angela felt the lightning coming long before it actually struck.

"Get down!" she yelled, grabbing Gyp and throwing him to the ground and herself next to him. She held up one hand and made a quick symbol, tossing up a barrier of white electricity. Please let this work she prayed. The lightning hit the barrier seconds later and crackled violently. Angela was thrown back onto Gyp as the barrier buckled slightly.

Pain ricocheted through her shoulder and her focus faltered but the shield held until the lightning was completely absorbed. The light faded, leaving the air heavy with the sickeningly sweet smell of ozone.

Angela, exhausted, sagged against Gyp and closed her eyes. "Today completely sucks," she said with a groan.

"Bloody hell--Gyp--are you alright? What's wrong?"

Gyp didn't get much of a chance to answer Angela's question, as he found himself preoccupied with whatever was happening with his charge; in his panic, one of the less reasonable parts of his mind was urging him to go find whatever the hell was going on with Nimue and Sin, but he squashed the idea accordingly. The next moment, he started and forgot all about her as what little of his powers flickered to life, and he got the vague picture of Angela in front of him and the familiar surge of lighting hit the vohr...before going toward them. He wasn't sure how much energy he could handle hitting him as he was nowhere near as strong as he was before....that happened, but it didn't matter much anyway as she knocked him over with a shout.

Everything went back to black as the lighting ended, except this time.... he had a very female body lying atop him, and was not about to complain. He also squashed these thoughts down.

He felt his face warm slightly as he felt her lean against him exhaustedly, but sat up straight so he could prop her up better.

"Today completely sucks." He nodded weakly into the darkness as he felt the adrenaline drain away...then noticed, or rather felt, Angela's shoulder twitch slightly.

"Is your shoulder okay? We could get Nim to--s**t. Where is she?" He almost twitched to get up, then thought better of it. He awkwardly pulled her a little closer to him so that she was lying back to back with him.

"Sorry, I'd better stay here for a bit. Thanks for helping me." He said with a surprisingly sincere grin. He was surprised he had the energy for it.

Just got back from a party and I need to sleep really bad. x.xll))

((Did Cheeva get the one that Gyp knocked unconscious? There were six originally.

Two went after Zen and Angela--Angela killed one, bone-dog ate the other.
One went after Chee -- became bone-dog
One went after Nim --Death by Sin
One went after Gyp --Bludgeoned into unconsciousness and then.....?
And one went after Toshi and Inu---Death by lightning))

Zen came out, now that the nasty things who hadn't taken to diplomacy were gone. His instinct was to run to the weird girl, but he remembered her strange flaming habit and let Gyp take care of that instead.
He had seen Angela throw out her shoulder, so that was what Zen chose to address first.
He plopped down on the ground, closed his eyes and crossed his legs. Feeling his energy working like he remembered, he touched Angela's mind with his own, just enough to politely ask for a temporary bond.

((Thank you for posting. T________________T And I'm assuming Zen is asking for some sort of mental/psychic bond?))

Angela instinctively recoiled when she felt Zen tentatively touch her mind. With her good arm, she gripped his shoulder tightly and stared at him for a long moment.

He wasn't being invasive but she was uncertain. "My...psychic abilities are erratic," she said softly. "I don't know what will happen. So only if you think you can handle it."

I am pretty sure I can...
His mouth didn't move, but a bit of an arrogant declaration came from him to Angela. He didn't move when she was shaking him either.
Zen made the connection, and could immediately feel the pain in her shoulder. As if it was his own, he began moving his own energy through their link to the site of injury. While patching things up, he had a hard time concentrating. He had a lot on his mind, but it was more or less the woman's power making it hard to control the flow of energys.

He grumbled mentally, figuring what had happened was a slip into something else having nothing to do with what he had planned. Energy was now going both ways instead of from him to her, and he was trying to correct it to no avail.... at least the damn shoulder was healing as a result....

Angela grimaced when she heard Zen's voice in her head. It was nothing personal really. Just that the...intimacy of having someone in her head was a bit uncomfortable. And she didn't really trust her wonderful powers which liked to be annoyingly unpredictable.

Angela felt warmth spread into her shoulder and the pain began to lessen somewhat. She tried to keep her mind clear and let Zen do what he needed to do without being disturbed. She got the distinct feeling from Zen's frustration that she was kind of not doing a great job at it.

An abruptly a familiar scene began flashing through her mind. She gritted her teeth and tried to stop it because she could feel it flowing into Zen and it wasn't something she wanted him to see. But the images came unbidden and refused to stop.

She was the one I idolized after I lost my mother. She was everything that I wasn’t—strong, good at everything she tried, she knew everything I didn’t. She was beautiful and confident. I wanted to be like her. She was both a sister and a mentor to me.

But the one area where she and I couldn’t agree was our father. I hated him from the moment he took me from my mother but she idolized him the way I idolized her. He was her entire world. But after Three was killed I couldn’t even stand to be in the room with him. I wanted to get away from him and everything he stood for—everything he tried to force me to be. I refused to be his weapon any longer.

And I told Christine.

I always told her everything so it made sense to tell her I was leaving but I didn’t realize it was a mistake until it was too late. Her loyalty to him was greater than anything she might have felt for me and the night I chose to leave, she was waiting. Even though I could almost never hide my thoughts from her, she was expert at blocking me. So I never even knew she was nearby until I heard the sound of the metal chair collapsing. But it was too late and before I could defend myself, I felt it smash into the back of my head. The last thing I remember was the overwhelming anguish, knowing I’d been betrayed by the one person I had come to trust more than anyone else.

Angela could feel the tears flowing as the memory flashed between her and Zen but she couldn't stop them. And she couldn't break the link. All she could do was clutch his shoulder and cry.

Zensekai had no idea where the memory had come from, but he saw it clearly. Angela still remembered the feel of the metal chair, and the anguish and now he did too.
He remembered it from somewhere else... long ago.
Of course, the memory popped into his mind too fast to close off the link before it was sent across.

He was running tile, dark and cold halls. The power was off, they had been attacked, the whole castle. He had to get to the Shrine of the Gate of Avalon, to restore power. He had to find his sister, it took two to use the cursed Gate.

Zen ran, some green cloak about him. He had just come from a press conference, he was cut off from his warriors when some of the ceiling collapsed. Finally, he got to the door.

He began ripping at the seals that lit the door, bending them out of his way with a wave of his hand.... only to discover the seals had been bent already....
"Oh good Alcamede must be in there already." Was a relieving thought.
He stepped inside the room. Torches lit, and the omnious Gate of Avalon watching him in the back of it on it's uplifted platform.
It only took a few steps inside and up the ramp that lead to the Gate to notice a seepage of blood down the rails of the torches. Off in a corner, in the gate's shadow was a red and black mass.

The black was over the red. the smell of blood all over both of them.

"Who's there!?" Shouted an animalistic masculine sound.
Zensekai was entirely speechless at the sight. Blood was all over the murals on the walls and the carvings on the stairs.
The black figure seperated, also covered in blood. And it rose up, it's back to him.
Zen looked down, trying to make out who was bleeding. He starred, unable to see a shape of a person left... a woman? He starred a bit longer, while the black figure stood tall.
there were feathers on the ground, they were red with an eye of yellow and blue and glossy colors.... Just like the ones Alcamede always wore.
The black monster turned to face him, it was just a man. It was one whom he knew, long black hair, black hood, black tunic. And blood all over it's face.

"Shame, if I had known his majesty would be here, I wouldn't have filled up on that whore." The person who was once Zen's friend shouted at him, like a wild creature.
The same sense of betrayal had filled the red head from crown to toe, as it finally dawned on him that his sister was the pool of red liquid on the Shrine's floor.
The Gate of Avalon looked on, flames flickering on it in a fit of maddness, it watched, as it always did.... cold, firey, and terrible.

With that, Zen opened his eyes, feeling someone sobbing on his shoulder. He tried to keep a stern face... to keep from having to explain anything to the others.

Oh God, Angela thought. I'm crying on his shoulder. I can't...stop. His...my...sister. She didn't even know who she was crying for now. Herself or Zen.

She abruptly pulled away from him and turned her face away. "I'm sorry," she said stiffly. "I...didn't mean for that to happen." She rotated her shoulder slowly. It seemed, at least, that it was healed. "You should...go and heal the others." She managed to turn to him with a teary smile. "Thank you."

Seeing that the battle was over, Inutai collapsed to a sitting position, still craddling his arm in pain. His ears were laid back, his tail between his legs. All in all, he wasn't enjoying himself. But if one took a look at Inutai's arm, it was perfectly fine. The skin was still intact, no bruising, no nothing. Physically, there was nothing wrong with him, yet Inutai was, no doubt, still in pain.

Toshi knelt beside Inutai and patted his head softly with his good arm. That Vohr had bit into his left arm (the same arm that Inutai was feeling pain in), and it was now bleeding. He didn't mind one bit, as this pain was only trivial. He'd suffered through worse, so this felt like a mild stinging sensation. However, due to their. . . connection, his companion was suffering worse than he was. "Just try to not let it get to you."

Inutai just whimpered in response.

Zen looked at Angela sadly, he wanted to say something, but sensed more distress from another member of the group.

He decided to gather his thoughts, then come back to Angela later. He probably had explaining to do too.....
He closed his slitted eyes again, this time sending a link to Toshi whom he felt was linked to someone else.
Of course, he waited permission from both of them before proceeding... especially after what just happened.
