T'ka was so glad that Ghilani had a sense of humor. And that he could take a joke/a little bit of teasing. So many people were so snively and sensitive. It was nice to at least be tolerated once in a while. Now that she had Haanyath to look after, it would be harder than before to socialize. Friends, if she had any, would be hard to keep, and the idea of making any new ones was absurd. Haanyath. Darling Haanyath. HER Haanyath. While T'ka loved her with all her heart, acknowledged her stubborness. The social disadvantage she was at for having such a tricky little green. At least Ghilani and Khunoth hadn't shooed her off yet.
She smiled at Ghilani, giving a little nod of thanks as she passed him, leading the way to the food bar. Chivalry wasn't something she was used to. Then again, most of the smiths back where she came from hadn't much need of it. How often did you see a girl smith? Either way, it was nice to get a taste of it. T'ka was never terribly into males, but that didn't mean she hated them. "Khunoth, was his name? He seems rather sure of himself," T'ka laughed, good naturedly. She didn't mean any harm by the comment. It was, in her mind, some-what of a compliment. "After all, Haanyath could always use a reminder that- ...had she been about to use those words? Just a green? Just a girl...ugh. Those words had made her so sick, when smithing had been her life. And now look at her, she had a dragon! How could she be so detached as to degrade Haanyath like that? She beat herself up mentally, but didn't allow for a lapse in conversation, lest she bother Ghilani. So she improvised and picked up quickly. "she doesn't have the right to boss everyone around. But in a strange way...I must admit I find her confidence endearing." Was that because she felt it so closely resembled her own?
Haanyath didn't bother following her human. Why? She didn't need her human around all of the time, she wasn't a little lost puppy in need of comfort. She smirked a little dragon smile, stepping a little closer to Khunoth, and while not acting agressive, she was on her toes, and mindful of just what she suspected would be Khunoth's striking distance. Bored of conversing with her human, who simply seemed want to hold her back, she supposed a little chat with her brother might be interesting. <> Haanyath spoke as if she wasn't a green herself, or as if her human didn't indeed have flits. Haanyath had no particular care for the little buggers. Didn't they realize they were small, and numerous, and mattered little? (((Ooh, couldn't resist adding in some hypocritical thoughts xD)
Unaware of her dragonet potentially stirring up more trouble, T'ka picked up a plate, picking through to find the best food she could for herself. Haanyath was already full. And T'ka had no qualms about sharing food from her plate with her dragon. Which she would probably end up doing. Haanyath was so greedy it almost made T'ka's stomach churn to watch. How did she fit all that food inside her stomach? She wasn't even a big dragon! She scooted over, smiling at Ghilani and motioning for him to help himself next to her. With any luck, she could get a little conversation in before she had to deal with Haanyath's temper again.

Anne had stood up from her bench to accompany Raena to find Elae, but managed to only give a silly movement of her hand, a confused look and faltered 'Oh, ok thank you' before the Healer was already gone. Entwining her fingers together behind her, she turned back to Cil, though to only find him now talking to a girl that Anne had only heard of in passing -- and she only knew her as The Nose. ...Actually, the whole Lower Caverns basically knew that girl.
She turned away and looked down at Yansanth, but only to give a small jump at the sudden appearance of another little bronze dragonet, Yansanth doing the same. "Oh!" she said to herself, one hand up near her chin for a moment. "They're just all over, aren't they..."
Like Hers, Yansanth gave a sudden jump and then a small cry at the appearance of the immediately-talking bronze. She had just been giving a light sniff at the one who had just come back, and here came another one!
Aanndd like before, she flopped to the ground with all the grace of a drunk herdbeast and slightly crawled partially under the bench. She poked half her head under Annelie's skirts and stared out at Bondyeth with one faceted eye. Um.. I.. I'm Yansanth...? She didn't know what else to say, so she just stared at the other, only partially listening to how he was apparently oh so great.
Yansanth didn't get it.
Looking up from the two dragonets, Annelie blinked and drew back her head for a second at the then appearance of the bronze's Bonded. She took note of his obvious... embarrassment, but Anne knew nothing about what the bronze may have said, as Yansanth was too busy hiding to relay or ask any questions to her.
"Um... well... it's OK." Yeah... that was a totally GREAT answer. Actually, it answered nothing, and Anne knew that, but she had felt the need to say something.

… Sigh. C’ym was just so utterly hopeless sometimes. How was he ever going to find his destined love? A girl perfect for him could probably drop herself in his lap and he would simply ask if she needed a hand. That, or apologize unnecessarily for tripping her. Honestly. She would just have to make sure that when the opportunity did arise she was there to coach him through it. Otherwise he might spend the rest of his life in horrible solitude! It just wouldn’t do.
Elae’s dramatic sigh was met with an even bigger grin as Nandeli waited figuratively on the edge of her seat (it was kind of hard to do it literally with a dragon on her lap, and she didn’t want to disturb the adorable little one). Her friend was dragging things out more than she would have liked, but it made things all the more exciting. Finally she would get the truth! However, the truth wasn’t anywhere near as exciting as her own ideas, and Nandeli gave a sigh of her own. Best friends forever? That was it? Tsk tsk. Clearly they needed more scandal in their lives if they were just making friends.
“Have it your way then. I will find out one way or another.” She did the typical ‘I’ve got my eyes on you’ gesture, but her smile was playful. While it was rather sad that there was not secret love, that didn’t mean she had to accept that fact. One day it would be true. She just had to wait. “But I’m glad you’re both here and not occupying dark corners with your secret business. I was just telling C’ym about the other incident in the dark corner with two boys, which he seemed to enjoy very much. You’ll have to keep both eyes on him lest he start looking for his own dark corners.”

T'ka need not have worried about retaining friends, or at least, Gh'lan as a friend. The former starsmith was nothing if not cheerfully immune to the machinations of social politicking, so even if he was told T'ka and her green were to be avoided.... he wouldn't have listened. The fact that Haanyath had mauled a girl right at the start of the hatching was not necessarily something he forgot, but more overlooked in favor of how the hatchling was behaving now. Florian and the old Candidatemaster had warned him that Hatchings could get bloody if candidates did not get out of the way fast enough, and he could certainly understand that Haanyath had (at the time) been driven by instinct.
It helped that he also felt somewhat relieved to have a 'lesser' dragon challenge Khunoth like Haanyath had. The brown's predilection for challenging anything or anyone he thought sought to 'cow' him or was 'unworthy' was already wearing thin, and he had been in the brown's mind for all of a few hours. Gh'lan would never fault Khunoth for not being a bronze, but he'd already suspected that Khunoth faulted himself at some subconscious level. That trend was immensely disturbing, so Gh'lan was only all too happy to socialize the brown as much as possible, and perhaps try to ease him into being comfortable in his own hide. Haanyath may not be the most graceful or diplomatic of dragons, but she was not likely to be cowed by the bully Khunoth could easily become, and for Gh'lan, that made his life all the easier.
"Khunoth is immensely sure of himself." Gh'lan replied, grinning wryly. "And don't think that he couldn't use the same reminder every now and then that not everyone will kowtow to him, it's bad enough he's bigger then her." He continued, picking up two plates and balancing them on one arm against his chest. Working in the kitchens had had it's perks, but learning how to carry the most amount of food with the least amount of spillage would definitely serve him well. Surveying what was laid out, he was glad that someone kept refilling the serving platters with hot portions. Tada liked meatrolls well enough, but she wouldn't touch them cold. "I wonder if we'll eat this well in smaller portions every night now that we are dragonriders." He queried, unable to hide the caressing tone in his voice as he said the word 'dragonrider.' Just yesterday, he had been a starsmith apprentice, heading straight for a dead end...
Khunoth swiveled his head around to glare at Haanyath, not liking her tone at all. Of course he is fond of me. He is my rider. As for the little sister, she came before me, so I have no say. The brown huffed, ignoring the 'spoiled' remark and canting his head to the side so he could peer over at Tada, who was still perched on his shoulder. The little sister is good for my rider, and she can scratch itchy places that he cannot reach. He added, grinning slightly to himself when Tada nuzzled his cheek and scrambled down his shoulder and behind his wings to his dorsal ridge, where he had begun to itch. Khunoth was a creature who looked after his own comforts, and he was smart enough not to ostracize the little green firelizard once he figured out what she could do for him.

Meanwhile, through all of the dramatic announcements and promises to be ‘best friends forevar’, C’ym was simply confused. Um… having friends was a good thing, right? It was still considered a good thing, even here in a Weyr, yes? In the end, he decided to give up trying to figure out what was going on and merely give Lytah headscratches instead. The Green firelizard enjoyed that immensely and crooned in response.
That is, until the conversation turned back to dark corners and the like. C’ym glared at Nan and tried to look imperious. It was a failure, mostly because it’s impossible to look proud and blush at the same time. “It was NOT like that!” he said firmly. His mind raced for any way to prove his masculinity----for, in his mind, any man who liked other men had to be a little femmy, right?----and he eventually settled on Hanumanth. “See? Look. I’ve Impressed a Bronze. That ought to prove it!”
Hanumanth mewled in his sleep and his feet moved a little, as if he was chasing something down.
C’ym belatedly realized that a mewling dragonet was not exactly the epitome of masculinity he was hoping for.
Elae simply laughed at the look on Nan’s face. “Oh, Nan… believe me, I wish I could believe that C’ym here was interested in dark corners and boys. Things would be so much more fun if more boys were interested in such things. But, alas, if he ever found himself in a dark corner with another man, it would only be because he got lost and refused to ask for directions.”
Vox chirped, idly wondering why no one was feeding him now. Normally someone was.
That brought Elae’s attention back to the little lizard. “Oh! That reminds me… Nan, have you seen Greenrider C’ren? Raena and I found his firelizard in the girls’ dorm.” She put special emphasis on certain words, trying to get a secret message across to the Nose. She even attempted to waggle her eyebrows a little, in a peculiar version of charades.

Putting Astarteth down on the bench, Kallista took the offered handkerchief with a solem nod and began to try to clean up the scratches all over her bare arms and legs. She was sure, once it was used, she could get it clean. It would make a nice rag for oiling or some other random task. Perhaps, next Gather day she could repay C'ren and get him a new one.
Stemming the little riverlets, Kallista scooped her mewling green back up. Making the green look her in the eyes, she sighed with a slight quirk and raised eyebrow. I am fine. We shall go see Ceylith. The big green.
If a dragon could sniffle, Astarteth certainly would have. Instead, she merely bobbed her head and tried to hold as still as possible. Still making noises, she looked towards the outside. Big green? The one talking to me? I want to see her!
"Lead the way then. I'm not worried about finding a Healer but I will make sure to follow your advice. A small jar of numbweed for all those scratches and aches I am sure to get." Kallista moved back to give C'ren room to lead the way. Of course, if she had realized that there were two girls and a hungry dragonet looking for them, she would have stayed put. She wondered if she could get C'ren and Ceylith to hatchling sit while she got changed. Oh well, she would ask once they got out near the Bowl.

T'ka chuckled as she finised filling her plate, taking plenty of breads and rolls, she wanted to have things she eat without worry of Haanyath stealing them. "Well, if that's the case, then I should think Haanyath will be perfect for ridding Khunoth of his adamant tendencies. You can't get much more headstrong than Haanyath."
Xythe and Daeok wiggled excitedly on her shoulders, waiting for their chance to get at the food on their human's plate. Ornery and aloof about her human as Haanyath was, at least T'ka could count on her flitts to provide innocent amusement, and a way to show affection. Haanyath wasn't very affectionate, to say the least, and didn't really like to be 'touched' per say. "At least Khunoth seems to like your little green. Haanyath doesn't have any sort of like for them. Oh, you might want to tell Khunoth to watch your flit, by the way. I don't think Haanyath would do anything, but she is prone to hissing and snapping." T'ka shook her head. Oh Haanyath. A few hours old and already a major problem. What was she going to do with her when she grew up? Hopefully she would mature a little?
T'ka finished filling her plate, and turned to slink back to their table, expecting that if Ghilani wasn't following behind, he would be shortly. Surely there was a limit to how much he would need to eat, or a limit to how much he could carry. "Are you being nice, Haanyath?" T'ka asked, patting her dragons head as she sat her dish down. To make up for the little pat, the affection, T'ka offered Haanyath a slice of wherry, which Haanyath sniffed over, and then practically inhaled.
Done with her little snack, she found herself drawn back to Khunoth. Little mister brown high and mighty. Thinking he was so tall and special and proud. <> Haanyath snorted, scratching her head with a back leg in a non-chalant manner, completely calm; as if she wasn't fishing to strike a nerve, or to rouse her sibling.

Nandeli waggled a finger at the newest bronzerider. "Oh C'ym, dark corners are not exclusively reserved for two men! I'm sure you could think up lots of ways to occupy it with or without someone else." She giggled, imagination already gotten the better of her brain and concocted several possible reasons why her friend would be in a dark corner. If only she had the slightest inkling who he would be with so she could get started on a master plot to shack them up together. If she didn't find C'ym somebody before she grew too old to Impress she might just have to resign as the Weyr gossip/matchmaker. What a sad day that would be.
Turning her attention to Elae, she nodded her head solemnly at the other girl's observations. Indeed, C'ym was really not the secretive type, probably because he had absolutely nothing to hide. But that didn't stop her from thinking about it. She always had the mental space for her favourites. But she was forced to move on from C'ym's "secrets" to more pressing matters. Nan leaned forward when Elae called her name, listening intently as she told her what she had seen.
"Greenrider C'ren's flit in the girl's dorm? My my, this is good. I've seen him about lately but I haven't exactly been watching him," she admitted, tapping her chin thoughtfully. "But you and Raena have certainly found something very important. Do you know where Greenrider C'ren is right now?"

Ah, how C’ren missed the days when he could just scoop Ceylith up. Sometimes, anyway. At least until he recalled how often she had woken up squalling because of the itching, or because she was hungry or some other thing… they were babies, after all. Not that Ceylith had ever been a ‘squaller’, exactly. She had been more into the whole, ‘well, I don’t want to wake up Mine so I’ll try to go off by myself and fall down the stairs’, which was worse.
Completely unaware of being watched by at least one rumor-monger, C’ren snagged one last bit of roast herdbeast before leading the way to the other side of the Weyrbowl, where Ceylith waited. At least she was easy to find; unlike some of the other Greens, she was quite content to be left on her own, much like her rider. Unlike him, however, she didn’t look for solitude. It was more like something that just happened.
At the sight of the little hatchling in Kallista’s arms, Ceylith let out a soft croon. It was almost human, in some ways, like she was saying ‘aww… how adorable!’ about a particularly cute baby. Which was pretty damn accurate, actually.
You are a beautiful little Green, Astar, she said, although she was hardly surprised. Golds were fine, but Greens were… well… special. ~.~
“Well… for starters, he just walked by,” Elae said mischieviously, hardly able to contain her glee. “With Kallista! You know, the runner-girl? She Impressed a little adorable Green! What do you think is going on there, Nan? I suppose we have absolutely no choice but to follow them, right? I mean, we have to return his flitt. It’s our duty as good people!” And, of course, their duty as gossip-mongers. Nan had to keep up her gossip quote if she was to keep her position.
And, as Nan had pointed out before, Greenriders were always the best sources of gossip. “Well, come on! Let’s follow them before they escape!” With the clever use of a meatroll, Elae managed to coax Vox, the little blue firelizard, onto her arm.
C’ym sighed, wondering when he had gotten involved in all this. When had all of his friends turned into… well… gossipers? “Right, you guys go on ahead. I’ll take Hanumanth…” he scratched the little Bronze hatchling, who jerked awake with a snort. “Come on, Han… let’s get more food in you before you completely fall asleep…”
That idea suited Hanumanth juuuust fine. Abandoning Nan’s lap, he curled up around C’ym’s feet, so he could stay close to his Mine. He was still feeling more sleepy than hungry, but a bit of food wasn’t that bad an idea. Besides, he didn’t want to leave right now! He wanted to meet more hatchlings!

Kallista followed closely behind, fueling any other rumors that might be started, though she had her arms full of Astarteth. As they made their way across the Bowl, Kallista listened to the melodies from the Harpers and was tempted to sing along. But the silence between the two was peaceful...almost friendly...and she was loathe to interrupt it.
Once they reached Ceylith, Kallista gave a bow of acknowledgement. She couldn't actually wave. Astarteth squawked and looked up, up, up at Ceylith though the green was no real creature of height. Bumping her head against Kallista's chest, for once the green was speechless.
Until Ceylith remarked at how lovely she had come out. Then her eyes turned a happy blue-green. Squirming, Astar insisted on being put down. I can walk. I want to see. Ceylith knows how pretty I am! And she is pretty too but not like me. Green is the best.
Kallista laughed and put Astarteth down. Almost immediately, the little green walked up to her much larger companion and stopped. The dragonet could probably fit inside of Ceylith's claw and sleep comfortably. Turning to C'ren, Kallista gave him a slight salute. "I hope she grows out of that stage soon. Talk about weight. Thank you for the handkerchief. I will find a way to make it up to you."
Sitting down on a medium sized rock, Kallista watched the greens, big and small interacting with each other. It was too cute and she wished there was an Artist to record the moment. Minus the fact that she was still in dirty clothes. "I wonder how long we have to stay at the Feast? I would love to get cleaned up and changed.

Nandeli gasped. "With Kallista the runner-girl? By the First Egg!" She could barely believe what she was hearing. Clearly it paid to be skulking around the girl's dorms during the Hatching Feast. Maybe she had better start paying more attention to those parts, what with rider's flits lurking around. "I suspect something is up, my dear Elae, and it is up to us to discover what!" Grinning broadly she leapt to her feet, eager to follow her friend in pursuit of what would be some very juicy gossip. All they had to do was find out what the pair of them were up to and they would be set!
"Be good while we're gone, little bronzerider!" Nan giggled and leaned in to kiss C'ym on the cheek. She had to make him blush at least once before they left. It was practically a tradition now! With C'ym taken care of she waved to his little bronze, before nodding to Elae. "Let's go! We have a greenrider to follow!" As they set off after C'ren, she said softly, "I wonder why he picked a runner girl of all people. He does ride a green, doesn't he?"

Ceylith wasn’t used to striking people speechless and it showed in her body language. As the silence went on, the older dragon shifted a little, idly wondering if she had done something wrong. Maybe she shouldn’t have complimented the little hatchling. Maybe it made her too nervous. Sure, she talked big and all, but that didn’t mean much.
Her relief was absolute when the little Green finally spoke once more and even waddled up to her. In a perfect Kodak moment that should’ve been recorded by an Artist, Ceylith lowered her face until she gently bumped noses with little Astar. She rumbled happily, the noise coming from deep in her throat, and her eyes swirled with a peaceful blue.
Just wait until you see the Bronzes and Golds. They are far larger than I. Not that this means anything, of course. They cannot fly fast or make sharp turns. And what was the point of flying slowly?
Even C’ren couldn’t help but smile at the little nose-touch between the dragons. It really was adorable. “You can leave at any time. This is actually… well… unusual in some ways. Normally the Feast is just for Weyrlings and their family. But the Weyrleader thought it would be a good idea to let the Weyrlings mingle with the older riders…” C’ren was rambling a bit, a sure sign that he was getting at least somewhat comfortable with Kallista. But he caught himself soon enough and got to the point. “Anyway, most dragonets are amazingly sleepy after they eat. Not a whole lot to do with sleepy hatchlings besides go to sleep.”
“The weight is the least of your worries. You’ve got a long night ahead of you. Little Astar there is going to be wailing all night, either for scratches or food. Ceylith was the same way.” Mostly.
I can watch Astar, if her Mine wishes to go change clothes, Ceylith volunteered. Most people, she noticed, had a distinct dislike of wandering around with dragonblood on their clothes. C’ren certainly did.
“Oh… right. You probably want to go get changed… Ceylith says she’s willing to watch Astar while you get changed.”
~.~
“Absolutely, my dear! Come, it is up to us to discover the truth of this murky world we live in! Quickly, the game is afoot!” Honestly, what was C’ren doing with the runner-girl? She was fair enough, Elae supposed, but it just didn’t make sense. Luckily, a more immediate relationship caught Elae’s eye as Nan kissed C’ym on the cheek. “Careful there. One of these days, you’ll make him explode, Nan!” Predictably enough, C’ym had blushed once again and made every effort to look at anyone else besides the gossipy-girls.
Grabbing Nan’s hand, Elae happily led the way, trying to keep an eye on the Greenrider. Unfortunately, he---and Kallista---managed to disappear. Actually, they just happened to be behind another dragon at the moment, but Elae managed to miss that. “Yes, he’s a Greenrider. Ceylith----that’s his dragon, Ceylith---is the one who Searched me. I wonder though… maybe Ceylith is due to Rise soon! Maybe C’ren is just anxious---or desperate---- for… well… anything.”
It was dimly possible, perhaps. “What do you know about Kallista? I just know that she was a Runner before coming here and a bit of a goody-two-shoes. Oh! And she Impressed tonight, didn’t she? Another little Green! Do you think she went with C’ren to…” eyebrow waggle, “Celebrate?”

Bronzes I wish to see. Golds I already saw. I will fly fast and quick! Not slow. Astarteth definitely agreed. The little hatchling crooned softly and tried to bump back. Which was amusing in itself. One wrong move and Ceylith could probably have inhaled her. Bronzes will all want me for I am shiny and pretty.
Kallista looked at C'ren with honest relief showing on her face. Her eyes were ringed slightly with green, not that it would have been noticeable in light. Standing up from her rock, Kallista looked over at Astarteth with a very tender expression. Will you be okay?
Go. Get clean. When you come back I shall eat. Then I am tired. Astarteth replied. The little green tried again to head butt her larger friend.
"Good thing I am quick. And quick I will be." With that statement, Kallista took off in a run. Not that her stalkers would have noticed considering she went back around them and towards the Candidate Barracks. She was sure that her things would not have been moved yet. Entering inside, she went straight to the bathing area and stripped off her shift. She washed down and cleaned off the sweat, dirt and blood. Not worrying about her hair, she just redid her ponytail and then went in search of her clothes. Something comfortable and much more covering. Tossing on a favorite brown, short sleeved shirt and tan pants, the whole process may have taken ten, fifteen minutes max.
And then, she dashed back across Bowl, unerring in her direction. After all, how could she deny where her heart was? Popping back up near Ceylith, Kallista was pleased to see Astarteth engaged in games and C'ren watching the pair of them. "Much better. I almost wish I had been timed."
Good! Now you are clean and now you can feed me! Astarteth pulled away from Ceylith and waddled over to her rider. Up please!
"I appreciate everything you and Ceylith have done for me, for us. Somehow, I think it's not a duty you normally perform." Kallista didn't realize that that comment could easily be misinterpreted.

Only if the Bronzes have any actual taste. Many of them do not. At least that was Ceylith’s experience. Not many Bronzes chased her, she had to admit. Maybe it was just C’ren… he wasn’t exactly pleasant in the mornings as she well knew. Still, she knew he was a good man deep down. If some stupid Bronzerider couldn’t see that, that was his own fault.
It didn’t occur to Ceylith that some men might actually prefer women.
While waiting for Kallista to return, Ceylith started up a small game with Astar, a game that appeared to be mostly comprised of Ceylith attempting to nuzzle Astar or maybe it was the other way around. Either way, it was absolutely adorable.
Well, C’ren was willing to watch the cute show while he polished off the food he had snagged from the tables. Some part of his mind wondered where Vox was, but he wasn’t overly concerned about the fat firelizard; he was probably sleeping somewhere, as he normally did at this hour. He perched on a rock as well, simply waiting for Kallista to return, looking oddly at peace with the world. Or at least somewhat content.
“No worries. I like this sort of thing,” he said idly once Kallista had returned. “It’s very soothing.” Not to mention, Ceylith loved to play with younger dragons, making her a natural baby-sitter. ~.~
Aha! There they were! Elae put a finger to her mouth and gestured over to the pair when she finally caught sight of Kallista. A… slightly sweaty Kallista, she noticed. Who was panting softly. And saying something about how grateful she was to C’ren. Not only that, but she was wearing different clothes. Elae’s eyes went wide at the sight and she clapped a hand over her own mouth, utterly unable to believe this.
For one thing, she had been pretty convinced that C’ren was gayer than… than… well, a Greenrider, when you got right down to it. Sure, he didn’t act like it, but that was obviously just a cover! Lots of men were ashamed to admit an attraction to other men. Quite silly, as far as she was concerned.
When she finally got over her sheer surprise, she whispered to Nan, “Wow… did I just hear what I think I heard?”

"He's gotta get used to it," Nandeli put her hands on her hips, grinning cheekily. "One day a pretty girl is going to fall in his lap and he's going to let her pass him by!" It was sad but true. And if the perfect girl did fall in his lap and he did nothing, let's just say that he'd get more than just a tug on the ear from The Nose. After which, of course, she'd try and re-set them up so that they could fall hopelessly in love and live happily ever after. It didn't matter that those kinds of relationships didn't seem to exist in real life. She could always hope, couldn't she?
She couldn't help but giggle as she was pulled along willingly by Elae, brown eyes darting about in search of C'ren. She had seen the greenrider maybe once or twice, but she didn't know him very well. There were a lot of greenriders who were so testy even when their greens weren't about to Rise that it was practically tradition to just avoid them all. But she wasn't going to avoid this one, not when he was potentially courting a girl from the Weyr dorms. And one who had just Impressed, no less! Clearly, scandal was afoot.
Nodding as her friend told her about C'ren and his green Ceylith, she considered the information quietly. "Maybe he's looking for a stand in for when she Rises? Though why he would Impress a green and not have his eye on any of the blues or browns seems a little off. How old is he anyways? Maybe he wasn't Weyrborn so he's not used to the way things are." C'ym was a prime example of that philosophy. Honestly, still blushing about boys in dark corners? Just some of the stuff she'd seem by accident (no really, by accident) would be enough to make his head implode.
"Don't know much about Kallista though, other than she just Impressed that pretty little green." Talk of 'celebration' made her grin widely. "Ooooh, I think you may be onto something Elae!" And things only got better. The girl in question had arrived, and Nandeli quickly quieted, eyes focused sharply on Kallista. Was she… in different clothes? And… by the first egg! She was panting and sweaty too! And grateful to C'ren? Ohohoho! If this wasn't a secret relationship in the making then Nandeli didn't know what was.
She nodded eagerly to her friend, having to bite her tongue to stop from giggling and giving them away. "Not a duty he normally performs, eh? And he thinks it's soothing? Must not be a runnerbeast in bed." Nandeli waggled her eyebrows. "What should we do?"
