As soon as the muscles in Shinro's arms twitched, Ken was ready. When he shot the lightning at them, the shield was up. The lightning bolt directed at Ken hit the cloud, and some of it ricocheted off, while the rest was absorbed. Yin, with no available defence, simply jumped backward, twisting around in midair as she did. When she landed a few feet from the charred hole, she had two tanto in her hands.
Xai, a little slower on the uptake than his team, did a few seals. "Raiton, Yaiba no Jutsu." he said, and a blade similar to the one Ken was training with earlier appeared between his fingers.
"We haven't exactly laughed at your past, from the fact we don't know your past." Ken said slowly, ready for anything. "We know a small section. Xai is an a**, so don't mind him-" Xai shot him a look but said nothing. "For one who protects people in fights, you where damn fast in trying to fry us." he added.

"Damn well to warn us next time." Xai said angrily, as Yin simply glared at Shinro. Ken brought his food down hard on the snake's head, crushing the tiny skull almost instantly.
Under cover from the opaque shield between him and Shinro, he flipped Shinro off, before lowering his hand again, then the shield.

"Bullshit." Yin said quietly. "He's just trying to scare us." she added.
Ken and Xai continued to glare at the man, and repeated what Yin said, but louder. "Bullshit."
"If you where going to attack the snakes, you wouldn't have used something that could possibly have some good collateral damage, IE, our lives." he said, putting emphasis on the word lives. Of course, all three of them had taken electricity resistance training, so the shock would be lessened, but it would still scorch them and hurt like hell.

Ken read the man's lips, and laughed. "Imbeciles?" he repeated. "Lightning arcs, and crackles in different directions as it goes. Control it all you like, but that part is uncontrollable by anyone." he said.
The others remained quiet, weapons out, Xai's lightning blade crackling faintly, and almost to illustrate Ken's point, every now and again part of the blade would fork off, just for a moment, before reforming completely again.

The cloud in front of Ken twirled around at the comment, and Yin spun her daggers quickly.
"You did." Yin said, annoyed, looking at the scorch mark on the ground. Had she not moved, the bolt would have struck her dead on, not the snake behind her.

"My, he is an obstinate one, isn't he?" Xai said under his breath, so low that Ken, right beside him, barely heard.
"Whatever you say." Ken said, adding the word Paladin in the same extremely low voice as Xai.
