It was following silent as the wind. Then it's claw scrapped along the ground. It wasn't very audible but the creature stopped.

Strider stopped and stiffened and knew that it was there. He gulped.

The creature began to slink forward knowing that the one in red knew he was here.

Strider quickly turned and put up a barrier just as the Raylore lunged for Oliver bursting into fiery visibility. It hit the barrier and flew back. Snarling and growling it stalked back and forth eyeing Strider. Strider began to move again. "Come on it'll take some time for the barrier to disperse. We must go quickly." Strider kept running down the tunnel until they came out to a circular room with several tunnels leading in different directions. Near the center was a nest of sorts made of bones and stone. "This is it. The Deamrit Maze." Strider looked in the nest and found a small necklace. It had magical properties of protection. He put it into his pocket. "Okay we must go...this way." He ran into the furthest tunnel on the right.

"Norie-worie, how much farther are you going to pull me?" Skollozeir interrupted his laughter to ask the demon in front of him. She was still leading him. "I'm getting impatient, I want to meet this group that chased you off earlier. Especially these gods."

Oliver was almost glad that he wasn't able to see the Raylore. But for what is was worth, a small part of him wanted to see it. He let Gue guide him past the nest of bones, though he slipped one or two times. They followed the man into the farthest right hand tunnel. The panther avoided bumps and things jutting out from various places, but Oliver's foot got stuck on a rock. He tugged at his pant leg and fell backward, Gue coming up to keep him from hitting the ground. He stood up and continued further, soon hearing a rumbling sound from the ceiling. "What's that?" He asked as a giant boulder fell from the entrance of the tunnel and began to roll down the sloped floor.

Strider turned and saw the boulder. "Gah! Duck!" Strider lifted his hand to it and lightning shot out from the tips of his fingers making the large boulder shatter into pieces closing the gap behind them. "I really didn't want to do that. Now they know we didn't go through the other way. No time to worry about it now. We still have that thing to worry about. My barrier won't hold for much longer." Strider turned back and began running again.

((Sorry I hasn't posted in this for a while, I was trying to wait for Dragon and see if she'd add anything. Guess not.))

At Noreen's silence, Skollozeir went on, taunting her. "They'd have to be powerful indeed to send Norie-worie, demon from Hell, of Hell, running away like a little coward." He frowned as he thought. "But if they're being chased by something dangerous, able to kill them, and they're willingly running away, then they can't be too powerful can they?" Indeed, It spoke, but didn't elaborate. Noreen was still silent also, and they'd come back to Wraitholme. The undead stared at them unblinkingly, malice in their eyes. They began to advance on them, but suddenly stopped as soon as Skollozeir felt the rock in his hand turn colder. He and Noreen walked past them to where the passageway into the crypts were, then through that gateway, following the group they were after without a hassle.

Oliver gave a long sigh when he heard the renewed sound of running feet ahead of him. "What's with all the running?" He asked Gue, climbing onto his back so he could run to catch up. "If you run, then there's a more than likely chance that you'll spring a trap or something. Like I did." As he said that, the panther stepped lightly on a fake stone underneath. Whooshing sounds were heard near the ceiling as feathered arrows flew out from slits in the wall. Gue gave a huff annoyance, narrowing its eyes angrily. "Exactly my point." He muttered to himself. "You may want to duck." He called up ahead.

"Strider put up his hand and a barrier stopped all the arrows. "Well if you would keep up you wouldn't have to worry about these traps now would you?" Strider was beggining to get annoyed with this boy. "Just come on!" Strider stiffened. The barrier stopping the Raylore had been broken. "No time to explain my young friend. It is time to run!" Strider started to run again. Behind a loud roar could be heard and lights could be seen.

Skollozeir quickly gave up trying to talk to the silent Noreen. She must have her thoughts elsewhere, he thought. They went on for a while through the dark and musty crypts. Soon the loud sounds of an angry creature began to echo in the small space, coming from up ahead. "What is that, Norie, do you think?" He spoke out and his voice seemed oddly noisy in the still air. "You think that's the thing that's chasing the group?" They turned a corner then, but saw nothing but blackness. "That's odd..." The rock in his hand went even colder, burning the skin of his palm.

Oliver covered his ears with both his hands at the earthshaking roar the Raylore gave out. He pressed himself against Gue's back as the panther gave an answering roar of defiance. "I'd guess we haven't been running this whole time then." He muttered quietly to himself. "Alright Gue, he sounds oddly impatient." The panther nodded it's head and sped up, quickly overtaking the lost ground and passing by the running man a little. "It's not too far off now, just a few turns, right?"

"Afraid not. We still have many miles to go. This place wasn't built as an easy way out. It was made to make it hard for those who didn't know the way." Strider saw a left turn and took it. "This way. It's to small for the raylore to follow." Strider slowed down a little to catch his breath. Carrying Brianne was starting to get tiring.

The Raylore sped forward furiously. His prey was proving hard to catch. He sped after them and had caught up just in time to see them duck into a passage way to small for it to follow through. It roared loudly into the passag and sped off to try and block their exit of the small passage.

((Gomennasai. I got blocked. crying ))

The roar from the Raylore ultimately woke up the half goddess. Eyes snapping open, Brianna looked up from Strider's shoulder to see it illuminated by the hell beast's flame. "Wha...?" She murmured unintelligibly. She just woke up after all.

What Skollozeir assumed was correct; Noreen was currently off in her own little word, blissfully unaware of the stupid nickname she despises so along with the insult. She knew of what resided in the the maze. And, since she herself was a hell demon, she would most likely be heard by the beast of shadow and flame. At his question, she turned with a smirk. "Indeed. That, dear Skollozeir, was the Raylore. A demon of both shadow and flame."

Strider looked at Brianna as she awoke. "Ahh. Your awake now are you? Good thing to." Strider lowered her to her feet. "Maybe now our speed through the maze will be swifter. Now while we have some time let me explain what that thing was. That was a Raylore. The most powerful demonic entity in the western empire. Don't wanna get caught by that thing. This place is the Deamrit Maze. I chose this way over being caught by enemies with injured people in our party. So that pretty much puts you up to speed. So sit and rest. I'm going to go and scout ahead. If I'm right we will be able to follow this passage and be able to stay on our couse out. I will return." Strider stood and crouched low as he went as quick and silent as wind. He went some way until he came to the exit and no sooner had he came to it did he smell an acrid smell and when he poked his head out around he jumpped back in as the Raylore clawed at him. "Yikes. Not gonna get me so easy."

The Raylore snarled and stood up on two legs and blowed up it's chest and it's fires intensified. It made a few hand gestures and it cast a spell of immense dark power at Strider as he was walking away.

Strider turned just in time to see the bolt of dark energy hit him..but do nothing. He had closed his eyes and when he reopened them he saw the Raylore snarling and growling at him. Strider looked down and saw the spell sparking around him. He looked at it and smelt it. "Hmmm. A very powerful dark curse you have here. Wonder why..." Then he had looked down and saw a light from his pocket. He took it out and found it was the necklace from the Raylore's bed. "Ahhh. You know what this is don't you?"

The Raylore just snarled more as Strider replaced the necklace and walked away. It roared when he was out of sight.

"Oooh, a Raylore, huh?" Skollozeir laughed eagerly, the sound echoing in the tunnel. He'd heard briefly of it from Desdion. They'd made it to the actual maze part now, heading down the tunnel where the beast had gone was easy enough. "This is going to be interesting, wonderful, I'm so happy, I can barely wait!" He giggled to himself, pressing a hand to his mouth. Then they caught sight of the said beast, and it looked fairly ticked off. "Let me take care of this!" He said suddenly springing forward to meet the Raylore, a few feet of space between them. "Hello, Raylie-Raylie! How are you doing this fine day?!" He watched as it turned to him, and he waved at it friendily.

Oliver slipped off of Gue's back to the floor, letting the panther stretch a little. He put a hand against the wall and stood there, listening for any sounds of the Raylore somewhere outside.

((And it goes, "Ima firin mah lazer, BLAAAAAAAAR!!!!!!!!!!!!" rofl ))

Noreen yanked him back when he addressed the creature so informally. "What are you doing, you bumbling fool?! You can't just walk up to it and call it by one of your stupid little nicknames, then just wave at it! You have to treat it with major respect!" Pushing him back, she went up to the Raylore and bowed to it, as it it were her god. "Please forgive my companion. He has little respect towards his superiors." With a smirk, she looked back up at the creature. "If you want the trespassing god who has dared wandered into your maze, let me retrieve him and his companions for you."

Brianna nodded a bit, still out of it, before sitting on the ground. She has heard of the fearsome Raylore. But, for the moment, she was too sleepy to be afraid of the creature of fire. Suddenly, she remembered the man that she saved. He bit her and tried to drain her blood. A vampire... Walking over to the panther, she asked the man on the cat's back, "Are you well?"

The man seemed somewhat surprised that the woman he tried to kill (not of his free will, mind you) was asking him if he was okay. Looking down at the ground somewhat shamefully, he nodded. "Yes, I'm alright..." He replied.

The Raylore sniffed as Noreen bowed. A demon and a demi god. He stood on his back legs and towered over both of them and pointed down the small passage way. Then it turned and stalked off away from them exstinguishing it's flame as it went.

Strider had almost reached the others when he felt that his enemies had reached the maze. He stepped swiftly and found the others. "Come my friends it's time to move again. The Raylore found some friends and I expect them to be coming very soon. Come this way!" Strider exited the passage way, not running but with speed, and began walking down the passage they had traveled before the Raylore had come.

((Oh mah gerd! Shoopus mah whoopus!))

"Oh, Norie..." Skollozeir said, chuckling and stumbling back from her weak push. The rock in his hand flashed warm suddenly, and he thought he heard the invisible Raylore shift backwards a step as it walked away. The rock cooled back to its icy temperature, and he didn't hear anymore from the Raylore. "So polite and formal, all the time. It looks like you're trying to prove something, to yourself, to anyone, to everyone. I wonder why? There must be a reason, always a reason..." He trailed off, sensing the group ahead of them's power more fully now that he was closer in distance. "Either way, anyway, let's go Norie. I feel like I'll explode if we don't meet them soon!" He took out an ornately decorated knife from his belt and palmed it loosely in his hand, walking forward quickly with sudden purpose and taking the lead from Noreen. Hm hm, this shall be very...amusing..., It put in, if menace could be heard telepathically.

Oliver heard the woman he'd first heard's voice speaking, and he gathered that she was conscious again. He did feel a pang of sadness when she addressed the man still on Gue's back. But then the first man came back and announced they had to be moving on again. By Gue's semi-easy pace, he figured they were moving at a somewhat slower pace, though they were still rushing a bit. "Gue, how did this seem to happen?" He asked the panther quietly, a hand on the beast's neck and the other feeling along the passageway's wall. The panther didn't know how to respond, it still had many questions itself, though it did nuzzle the boy's hand with it's nose.

Noreen stood as soon as the Raylore was gone and went into the tunnel the creature indicated, leaving Skollozeir in her dust. She had a score to settle with this group, after all; having her run and make her team up with the most annoying demi-god she could ever encounter. That alone made her blood boil. But when she caught up to them, she smirked. "See, Skollozeir. You finally get to meet the vagabond group that you've been so eager about."

Skollozeir took stock of the group with his blue bloodshot eyes. A man in red, a bare chested man, a woman with a bow, a small boy, and a panther. He concluded that the man in red was the god Noreen had spoken about, and the woman was the half goddess. Then suddenly he laughed aloud insanely. "Oh, Norie. They don't look so tough, strong, powerful. But their auras do say different." He remarked with his quick manner of speech, twirling his knife in his hand and cocking his head to the side curiously. "Lord Desi will sure be interested in them, though."
