Addy looked around. It didn't look like most libraries she'd been to. It was way darker. Wait, was Uncle Sekenre expecting her to read, then? That'd be an odd way to learn how to hone her psionic abilities.
She made no attempt to hide her thoughts, more out of habit than a lack of desire to cover them up. Though she certainly had no such desire at the moment.

"You're on the right track Lilly," Krillo was a little concerned that she had not figured out how her abilities worked. If she hasn't pushed herself that far, then it can be assumed that she has not pushed herself to she her limit or to see what else her ability may grant her. "but not quite there. Care to try again? I want you to make this plant grow," he pointed to a flower that had sprouted by his feet "but this time, I want you to focus on what is happening between you and the plant."

"No child, you are not to read...yet. Most of these tombs contain sorcerous information and have no relevance to you. I bring you here to be away from the distraction of Gaia and your home. You're mother knows how to get here so we can be reached if necessary." He motioned to the table, snapped, and the table was consumed in blue flame. The flame lost the shape of a table and condensed to the middle of the floor and manifested into a large sitting pillow. He then motioned for Addy to take a seat. He remained silent for the questions that he knew where coming.

Nodding, Lilly looked at the little flower. She thought about what it was she normally did to get the flower to grow, wanting to make sure she could pay attention to what she was about to do. She looked up at Uncle Krillo once more, who nodded.
Then she gave the flower her energy--her life energy--and it grew. She didn't quite understand it, but she knew that if she asked the flower to use it in a certain way, it would. She was telling it how to use her life energy, with the energy itself.
The flower grew longer, sprouting an extra bud and blooming, growing extra leaves to gather the sunlight Lilly knew it would need to sustain it's new growth. Daddy had told her why flowers and other plants needed sunlight, but that wasn't why she knew it. The flower showed her what it needed, even though she knew she could tell it not to grow that way. She didn't want it to die like that. She knew it would die like that, not because she was taught, but because the flower told her.

Addy sat down without a word, but that didn't last long.
"What am I supposed to do here?" she thought the question before she said it, but decided it was better to say it aloud, though not for any particular reason.

Krillo crouched down next to Lilly when she was finished. "So, what did you learn? What is it that you do to make our little friend here grow so?" He touched the new bud with his Treant arm and watched it bloom.
Sekenre failed at suppressing a laugh and as quick as a moment, his composure changed all together. "DEFEND YOURSELF GIRL!" He made a gesture and the candle light turned blue. Each candle's flame divided and what where seven flames, there were twenty one. Seven flames remained but candle light, the other fourteen became blue butterflies and began fluttering toward her.

Lilly nodded. She knew Uncle Krillo was trying to teach her with this. He probably already knew exactly where her power came from. But she understood and tried to pick through what she had done.
"Well, I'm giving it what it needs to grow," she paused, trying to give it the right words. "It's from a part of me, like my energy." She didn't quite understand how that could work though. She'd never gotten fatigued when she grew her plants. So she told Uncle Krillo so. "I don't get tired though."
"How do you make things grow, Uncle Krillo?"

Addy was shocked for a second when Uncle Sekenre issued his threat, but she didn't have long to react. Her first instinct was to duck and cover, so she did exactly that, sort of.
She ducked behind one of the candles and shoved another toward the flaming butterflies with telekinesis. Maybe Uncle Sekenre had forgotten about that part of her ability. If she could only be so lucky. How on earth was she supposed to defend herself? Her mother was no where near able to save her now.
Her Uncle had gone completely mad.

The butterfly she swatted with the candle flickered out of existence. "Crude, but effective." His composure became more gentle. "Addy remember your last experience with the butterflies; their attack is not physical - block them out." Shield yourself and will them out of existence.
If she was watching him, it was almost obvious that he was at war with himself over this test.

"Well Lilly", Krillo turned on his knee to face her at eye level, "we are druids, creatures of nature for nature." With his treant arm, he touched her forehead. A vibrant pulsating green aura engulfed her.
"We contain an over abundance of life energy so that we may help Mother's creatures as we see fit. Typically speaking, young druids - such as yourself - can only manipulate plants with their own life force. As we grow into our powers, and our powers into us, we each have a different adaptation to our abilities and calling."
Krillo stood up.
"Some druids are able to speak with animals and command them while others are able to share the shape of the creatures around them. Once I became of age, I became a manipulator of life force itself. I can utilize my own to heal comrades, make plants grow, and if needed, absorb life from others to enhance my own abilities. If all else fails, as a last measure, I may borrow life force from Mother."
"In the case of this flower," Krillo waved his treant arm over it to make it grow five times its size, "I have lent it my own life force to bloom into what you see now. Its a pact between the plant and I, and as cyclical nature is, the plant knows that I may call on its life force to enhance myself or others."
Krillo again waved his treant arm over the plant. This time it withered. He then touched Lilly on her forehead again and watched her reaction as she became more energize, alert, and attentive.

Addy was certainly confused by her Uncle's behavior, but she had little time to deal with it. Instead she had to think of a new way to direct her mental energies and fast.
Usually Addy closed her eyes to blot out things, but this time she didn't really have that luxury. Maybe if she concentrated hard enough instead of clearing her mind, she might be able to snuff one out like that.
She made her attempt, closing out all but one of the flaming butterflies. If it was possible, she was determined to do it.

The death of the flower before her would have been depressing to Lilly, had she had the time to react to it. The rush of energy she felt was astonishing.
"Can I do that too?" she asked Uncle Krillo in amazement.

One by one the butterflies stopped moving closer to Addy and just fluttered aimlessly. The only on that stayed on target was the one that she did not block out. Good she's learning to control...and on command. She didn't have to shut her eyes this time either. Interesting. She's allowing one to sense her; what's she planning?
Sekenre felt a burst of pride and admiration for her niece.

Krillo chuckled. "In time child. In time. For now, lets concentrate controlling your ability to lend our brothers and sisters here your energy. The fact of the matter is you are constantly doing it, thus allowing anything around you to grow. The problem with this is there are creatures and spirits that would take advantage of this and leech off of you without consent. Think of them as weeds or parasites; they are not good for you."
Krillo stretched. "So Lilly, how would we keep that from happening?"
Krillo's ear twitched. He heard something off to his right. "Perhaps your mother has the answer to that question." He turned to Japi who was standing in the doorway to the back yard and garden. He tapped his ear, "Not sneaky enough Japi." He chuckled softly and jovially.

Japi laughed. "Your ears are too big," she teased. "It's not fair."
She walked from the covered Lanai to the garden. "Lilly's always had a problem with weeds," Japi explained. "She and Lith are constantly pulling them, but that means that Lilly knows which ones are which now." She turned to her daugher. "I bet if you practice, you can keep your energy from them."
