"For one I do not drink blood. I must consume the flesh of the living, though I've found I can suppress it by eating certain human foods." He said to her. "Second, this form you see, is a product of years of practice to keep me in this. This is not my true appearance, not even Zack knows of what I truly look like. I do not know how I became, I was using a special technique to become true family to my former master... and something happened that made me this." He looked away for a moment. "And I can wield necromantic powers. I can do so with impunity... provided I wanted to. But I don't, I use my power to learn all that I can of magic and the world. To be a sentinel and watch over things." He looked back at her. "And there is no turning back from it."
Zack awoke slowly, he felt strange but it was an invigorating sort of strange. He stood up and stretched, he looked into a mirror. He noticed something different about him. His eyes blazed with a strange intensity. He walked down the stairs and saw Lucius and Mara seated in the living room. "Hey there!" He said announcing his presence. "Sorry about that." He said to Mara. "I didn't mean to doze off." He said brightly.

"Of course." Eve made her way to the door, till she stood beside the serpent, a serious look cast across her white face. It had been a great while since the wonderful salty fluid reached her tongue; the thought increased her craving. A deadly gleam built up in Eve's eyes, as she headed out into the cold night's air. "Are you coming Ollie?" she inquired. "You do drink blood, I'm sure. Bring your friend if you like."
She was ignoring all level of insecurities that had built over the years, allowing these strangers to participate in her most intimate of rituals; the hunt. This Naga moved with such a seductive, fluid motion, Eve was at no discomfort in her company. And surely, if the man was an acquaintance of her new half-ling friend, all was well.
Somni stared with intensity at the Naga, as she rose in height. Her gaze was intimidating, though he would not show it. He turned back to the young girl, who seemed just as much in awe at the creature as he. "Well Miss...Ollie? Is this the presence you mentioned before?" he spoke, now taking notice of the Nosferatu.

"Very interesting." Mara said leaving forward, her head still in her palm. "That is quite an amazing story." She hoped to still find out more about the situation.
Above her head she could sense Zack moving. "Thank you for the information Mr. Lucius." Mara said smiling, "I will not tell Zack what you have told me."
When Zack came down the stairs Mara stood up to face him. "Not a problem at all, I hope your rest was well. Lucius and I Have been having a very good discussion." Her eyes met his, "You look plenty rested.

Ollie nodded at the man named Somni. Still clueless as to why he followed her. She looked at Eve and cringed, noticing the hunger that raged on beyond her beautiful eyes. "I do, but I can survive off human food as well." She eyes the Naga, glancing at the child, which she barely noticed before. "I won't be joining you tonight. Thanks for the invitation." She gave a small wave, seeing they were both eager to leave.

"Oh, thanks!" He said with a grin. "I feel great." He said to her as he looked into her eyes. "What were you guys talking about?" He asked.
Without showing a single sign or skipping a beat Lucius smiled and said. "Oh, we were talking about how certain vampires are affected by sunlight in different ways than others." Lucius was secretly proud of his cover-up and sat cross legged in his chair.

Sairen curled her back, each vertebrae popping loudly as she did so. "Then we are off." She started forward, lowering herself to the ground and slithering quickly towards the city. She paused and turned her head back looking at those whom would join her.

"Very well. I shall meet you here again then, if you like." Eve smiled openly, the titillation of a fresh kill knocking closely at hand. She turned abruptly, and took off towards the city in stride, a soft breeze running through her dark hair. "I never did get your name, you know." she spoke to her serpentine friend.
"I'm afraid I don't require blood my dears. I will not be accompanying you this evening." Somni watched the snake wonder off, accompanied by a vampire. "An odd mix. Are they friends of yours?" he grinned at Ollie.

Mara looked over at Lucius smiling. "Yes, it's a delightful topic. I am different from some other vampires." She told Zack. "The sun affects many of us in different ways." Turning back to Zack she said with a grin, "You look great."

Somni ran his hands through his black hair and signed. "That's good. I hope it's not the snake though." he chuckled a bit before noticing her inquisitive face. "What am I? Well, that is complicated." he gazed upwards, seemingly waiting for the answer to come to him. "I am what we call a 'Soul Eater'. Simple name, yes? Ha. It carries a heavy burden. But promise you won't run away if I tell you?" he shot another smirk at the young girl. "I am the spawn of demon and vampire mating. I can take the life's essence directly from you, if I so wish." he spoke, almost with a saddened inflection, before eying her over. "And what might an adorable thing like you be? Certainly not a vampire." Somni gave a playful frown.

Her face brightened somewhat, a smile shone on her face despite the fear she felt when he said he could kill her if he wanted. She moved closer to him now. "I'm half vampire too! Except the other half isn't demon. I'm half human. 'Cept your heart beats faster than mine." She pressed her ear against his chest, without thinking. "Mine barely beats at all..."

Zack laughed and sat down on a chair near Mara's. "Thanks!" He said. "So do you know why it affects some vampires more than others?" He asked them, curiously.
"Well, from what I can determine, it seems to be based upon how much of the power of the Original vampires, has been transferred through the lesser generations." He explained, genuinely getting into his diversionary topic. "Some like Mara, do not seem to affected adversely by sunlight, while others cannot go into the under any circumstance. And my father for example, could venture into the long daylight hours, garbed in a hooded cloak." He said, folding his hands.
Zack nodded. "Hey, Lucius. You wouldn't happen to know a vampire named Cooro would you?" He asked his mentor.
Lucius frowned for a moment, and then nodded. "Yes... I know the one of which you speak." He said slowly. "Which isn't to say I know him personally. I've met him a few times at the hospital, and seen him in the library looking at medical books and magazines. I suppose I have spoken with him once or twice, but I don't really know him."
"Oh," Zack said, "What exactly would you be doing at the hospital?" He asked him.
Lucius gave Zack a dry look. "Where do you think I get the medical blood I keep for guests?" He said. "What made you bring that subject up?" He asked Zack, curiously.

Mara sat down again looking form one to the other. "Oh," she said brightly when they had finished, "Cooro is my adopted father! He saved me when I was much younger and he taught me his ways, and helped me change into a vegetarian."

Somni smiled at Ollie, daring to move so close. To humans, his strength was invisible, but to other preternatural, he was a fiend best left alone. "Ah well, that is a mystery I cannot explain, my dear. At least a beating heart allows me to walk among humans, without question. And you are half vampire? That is odd. To have a human copulate with a Nosferatu is almost unheard of, at least to produce a child." he laid a hand atop Ollie's head, ruffling her flaxen hair.

Ollie blushed slightly and moved her head away from him chest. She looks off to the side. "In school, when I was a lot younger, during a health exam, the teacher thought I was gonna die, because my heartbeat. I had to transfer schools. She was still nosy after that so we had to move away for a little bit." She glanced back at him and unsure as to why, she wraps her arms around him, since he seemed so comfortable with her being close before. She hesitated but asked, "Were your.. parents in love when they had you?"
