"Well, as I remember it, my previous dates were of that nature and were rather dull. But then, moonlit walks, rich meals and romantic evenings do tend to lose their appeal when you're spending them with unpleasant people." Riot said, rolling his eyes at the memory. That was one of the reasons he didn't date much. "As for endings, I usually did end things formally, though I've gotten yelled at for that on occasion."

Tal just smiled and sighed.
"Me too." He stood up then and walked around the table, giving Riot a kiss on the cheek.
"Now neither of us will have to."

"That's good." the neko said, smiling a bit. "I like how you think, Tal."

"Good. I do too."

About a day or three later - Riot never did pay much attention - he closed up shop early so he could head over to spend the evening with Tal. After he'd locked up and made sure everything was secure, he went to the home of the elf.
He'd decided seven would be a reasonable time for closing early and going to see Tal, so now he just had to hope the elf was in and available for their date. They hadn't exactly specifically PLANNED anything.

Tal often closed before dark. Dark was the most calming, beautiful time to be where he was, and he preferred to spend it without nagging customers and 'new-age' young women who pretend to know everything about tea and every herb known to man.
That being said, Tal was back in his living room in a window that jutted toward the woods, sitting in the seat it made. He had a cup of tea (with cream, of course!) and was staring out at the trees.

Riot, finding the place closed, looked around a bit for a doorbell and rung it once he found one. Because, after all, he didn't exactly do well just walking right into people's homes.

Tal shuffled out in his bathrobe and bare feet, standing in the doorway and waving Riot in. He had to get changed!

Riot entered, now having been actually invited and went back towards the house portion to wait for Tal.

Tal came out in...A PAIR OF JEANS! He often had little phases with his wardrobe. Said jeans were not tight, of course, and hung a bit low, but they were still pants!
"Do you have any plans for our date?"

"Not particularly. I'm not much for planning. I just mostly wanted to see if you were available at all first and figured we'd go from there-huh. I do not believe I have ever seen you in pants before. Looks nice." Riot's original calm tone had been altered to one of slight surprise as he'd turned around to see Tal in a garment that wasn't a robe of some sort.

Tal turned and showed off his bum. It was...vaguely flattered by the pants, yes. At least not shapeless like in a robe.
"Well, I've made no plans either. Perhaps I can bring you for a tour of the wood?"

And, of course, Riot fluffed up a bit. Tal seemed to have that effect on him a lot.
"Fine by me. I haven't left the city very much so I know very little about the wood."

"When's the last time you saw a sprite?" Tal asked, opening the window he had been sitting in. See? No back door. Just the window. He slid out feet-first.
