House turned his nose up at this, "Well, I'm not sure I'd be very helpful saving a drowning lion, but you obviously know more than I do, which makes you worthy or all my attention," he drawled, giving an awkward bow and then turning to Daniel. "You might as well keep this one. She's better than any other lioness you've brought to me. They've all been sick."
Daniel blushed and glanced away, "Yes. Well," he said shortly, looking anywhere but at the other two. "Maybe you shouldn't be as rude to her as you were to them. They owed you patience, she does not."
House raised a brow, "Me? Rude? Never~"

Umicho just looked at House feeling frustrated. His sarcastic tone was getting on her nerves now. Her composure left her when the big lion mentioned other lionesses. In the corner of her eye, she saw Daniel look away from her. She instantly felt a need to comfort him then. For the moment she forgot House as she walked over to Daniel and gently nuzzled her cheek against his. "Daniel..? I.." She backed away a little and watched his face to see how he reacted. "I..love you..."

Daniel's jaw dropped, and he heard a muffled exclamation out of his dad, too. His face was immediately burning, and he looked away. That was sudden, he thought, and didn't know how to respond. Did he feel the same way? The thought hadn't really crossed his mind... They'd met a little while ago, but... After a moment, he looked back down at her, recovering himself rather quickly. "I love you, too," he said, though it felt unnatural rolling off his tongue. He'd never said it before, not to his parents or any of the other lionesses he had ever met. It was... odd, to say it and know it was true.

Umicho blushed when she heard him return what she had said. She could tell he meant it as well. Her heart, already beating fast, began feeling as if it would pop out of her chest. She had completaly forgotten the other lion was there by now. When he spoke those words, she moved closer to him, looking into his eyes, her own moistening. Nobody had ever said they loved her before. Not that she could remember at least. She waited, hoping he would move.

Daniel let out a breath he wasn't aware he had been holding, and bent over and nuzzled her.
House let out a loud chortle, then limped back to the pile of opium remains, where he had been lying earlier. Now he'd certainly seen everything....

Umicho purred softly as he nuzzled her. She nuzzled back in return, smiling warmly.

Daniel smiled, then looked over to his dad with a bit of a goofy grin on his face. He was standing close to Umicho, and seeking his dad's thoughts.
House, however, had his head on his paws and was already lightly dozing.

With a playful smile across her face, Umicho licked Daniel's nose. She looked over at his father and had to force herself not to giggle.

Daniel grinned, "He doesn't have much interest in personal relationships, so he's not particularly amused." He looked back down at her and raised his brows, "But he obviously doesn't object, hm?"

"I'd have to agree with you on that." She giggled then. His father was somewhat strange, but in a likeable manner. "I don't think he does either."

Daniel let his eyes wander back to his dad, expecting him to catch him with an eye open, but alas, nothing. He raised a brow and returned his gaze back to his new mate, the smile returning under a chuckle. "Mmmm..." he said, as if pondering something beneath that smile.

Umicho smiled at her new mate. He was so handsome and sweet. She moved closer and nuzzled his cheek as she purred happily.

Daniel's brows raised as he was snapped out of his daze, and he nuzzled her back, "Well, where should we go, or what should we do now, hm?" As far as Daniel knew, wandering was a risky business, and while that was how he was raised, he didn't know what Umicho would want to do. Settling down in a pride was an option, but he was leaving the choice up to her. Either way, as long as he was with her, he was happy.
(this is in reference to them having cubs later, and if they'll be raised wandering or if the pair will settle down, but it's not really relevant right now. Daniel just always thinks ahead... sweatdrop )

Umicho looked up at him, smiling warmly. "We should find a place we can call home. Perhaps wander for a while until we find some place that is safe and warm." She stayed close to her mate, happy she had met him in the first place.
