"The Emperor's blessing makes me above your dark sorcerery foul creature. Focus fire on the worms!"

Despite the fear created by Ixpath, the word of Alexander was more of an influence then even fear. The Blessing of the Emperor gave Alexander a voice to his soldiers that made them fight no matter the odds, the enemy, or anything else. Soldiers that resisted Alexander were shot down by their regiment commanders; no one was to disobey the word of their commander. The soldiers fought on, screaming as they charged into battle, their devotion was great enough to have them think their death was in the name of a greater cause: The cause of the High Arch. Soldiers were equipped with iron armor and steel sword, while ones far back were equipped with leather armor and crossbows. Lighting their crossbows using the torches attached to the catapults, they feared a barrage of lit bolts that blocked out part of the sun. A regiment for the High Arch was fifty or so soldiers, meaning one hundred and fifty were willing to charge into battle for the cause of the High Arch. As the soldiers ran forward towards the man of worms, they screamed alloud.

"For the High Arch!"

Rock Jaw had longed used this distraction in order to escape. There were far too many enemies to fight for just one Orc, no matter how tough he was. It was most likely Alexander would tire the enemy with wave after wave of his soldiers and then send in the heavy stuff or retreat. The High Arch numbers seemed almost unlimited and equally devoted to their cause.

((Sujidu gave me permission, so...))

Korsu stood in shock, trying to puzzle out what had just happened. He felt much stronger now, and his mind felt more than whole. It was almost as if...
Suddenly, he noticed Andy collapsed on the ground, with a thin trail of smoke leading to him. It must have been him! He realized that the extra substance in his mind was probably, in fact, Andy's mind. Suddenly, he heard Andy's voice in his head. Hey, I'm as confused as you are. We might as well do what we can. Cursing quietly as Rock Jaw scampered away, 'they' turned towards Ixpath, who was starting to fight a regiment of soldiers. Without even knowing what they were doing, they charged towards the enemy. Roaring a mighty battle cry, they swung their giant blade at the futile armor of the soldiers. With each blow, one more soldier was ripped apart like paper. Even with the might of Alexander behind them, the army was devastated by this unexpected onslaught. However, the ranged units in the back were marking their targets, and it was only a matter of time...

"Fire the catapults at the half-breed; no impure race shall mock our cause!"

The catapult engineers took precise calculations, which took time and as long as soldier were running to their dooms against the enemy, they were far too distracted to be able to launch any attacks on the crossbow men and catapults. The blood of their fallen comrades didn't shake them, to see them fall to the ground by a non-human's hands only made them more determined to fight for the High Arch. Each one of these soldiers were just regular men with no powers or supreme abilities, just regular humans that each have been effected by the taint of the other races. The Orcs raid their farms; the Elves sit back as human settlements fall, and corrupted people once humans lay waste to all humanity stood for. Each one of these men fought a hopeless fight against an enemy because they had nothing left for themselves elsewhere, most of them anyway. The few that did have something left fought for those exact things: To save their families, to protect their heritage, and to stop taints of evil spreading through the land past the Arch Gate.

"Don't give up gentlemen, remember what creatures like these took from you, remember what there is still to protect from their foul hands!"

Alexander himself didn't like the idea of slaughtering every non-human that came close to the gate, but the sad part of this was what the Emperor envisioned, it was the only way to ensure humanity's survival in this world over the other races. This had to be done, as said by the will of High Arch.

Aansalath gave a wicked smile, Alexander wouldn't like it, but oh well. He turned to Alora, and gave her a small bow. "In a moment, Lady Alora." He dug his cane into the ground and took off his coat. He set it on the cane, and the coat was soon followed by his top hat. He unbuttoned a few buttons on his shirt and he began to fight along with the Half-Giant.

He caught one soldier with his right hand and pulled it to his mouth. His growl was feral, but his thrist was being quenched. Yes, he would have to thank Alexander for this meal, even if it was less than satisfactory as there were no women in his army. He threw aside his soldier, then went after another with a speed equal to Andy and Korsu.

Alora kept watching the fight to see if anyone was hurt. Apparently not. At the moment, there were multiple enemies. They weren't orc's, but they were strong. Alora looked at Aansalath as he fought. She couldn't really see what fighting style he was using, but it looked like he was doing something to their necks. It can't be, a vampire? Alora thought considering the possibility. Suddenly, an arrow flew towards her. Luckily, she had fast reflexes allowing her to jump to the side just in time, and the arrow flew right past her head. Alora was so startled by the arrow, that she had forgotten about the shield. But it's probably best to not abuse it's power. I don't know how strong it is. She thought, ready for any sudden attacks.

Ixpath looked straight up in time to see a flaming crossbow bolt miss him by an inch. "Danm, religious fanatics! Ah well, sorry i have to do this Casuality. Time..... STOP!" With this, he waved his worm-fingers in the air in the shape of an hourglass. A solid blue material froze over all the other figures in the field. He knew that he would really just be moving impossibly fast, but it was a cool effect nonetheless. Walking calmly over to Alora, Ixpath picked her up, and moved her two feet away, where otherwise she would have been crushed by a falling boulder. "Hm hm hmmm." He treaded slowly over to the light vehicle. "Fareza!" A bolt of pale blue ice froze it's legs together and sealed the hatch shut. Calmly taking the sword from a soldiers hand, he beheaded said soldier, when upon the blue solid dissolved for it to fall onto the ground, bleeding. "Reth! Reth! RETH!" Fire exploded around the figures, frozen with the same blue material. "Windwall." Ixpath's hands fuzzed for a second, then turned back to their normal color. "Danm. Outta spells.... Other than this one....." A green bolt hit Korsu, causing him to awaken from the frozen state. "Congratulations. You are now moving ten times the equivalent of the speed of light, for the next one minute." Ixpath took the sword, and stood ready as the blue material started to crack.

((BTW, Minron, are the soldiers Imperial guard from WH40k, or humans from WHF? You reinspired me to start playing Dark Crusade again with Rock Jaw, who i'm sure is a WH40k ork. I just finished the Tau campaign on hard..... For the greater good!))

((Kind of a mix really, I first started them of when developing their concepts as quite similar to the Imperial Guard, but instead went with a more different medieval style of devotion and army. I'm recently starting the Chaos campaign after the Orkz and Necrons were finished. I don't know much about humans in WHF, I only played it with non-humans and my Lizardmen.))

"Damn sorcerer! Keep fighting men, there is no true hope left without our generators back at the gate! I must escape and prepare the forces, never surrender!"

Alexander knew he was beaten without the generators back at the Arch Gate to lessen the magic of the worm creature. Alexander needed to escape if the defensive effort at the Arch Gate was to have a greater success when these players reached it. It happened fast, but Alexander was prepared for a quick retaliation from the worm man. Using his gauntlets and the blessing he was given long ago, Alexander busted open the hatch and slashed the rest of the vehicle open for his escape. Being a lesser Reaper, Alexander had access to many short cuts due to his status. Speaking into his right gauntlet, Alexander spoke words that were most probably to mark his location.

"Level 1, forest area, recent burned area, sector 57, square 89."

From the skies, a thin strand of light struck from a hole created in the very fabric of the game's terrain. The light struck Alexander and his body shrunk with the light as it went back into the sky and disappeared. The soldiers kept fight, despite the invisible forces killing them one by one. They now started aiming towards the Elves and other members of the group not affected by the fast movement spell made by Ixpath.

Aansalath saw the blue material that landed over everyone, and wondered what it was. He paused for a moment, and let it fall over him. All of a sudden, everyone stopped. He looked around, apparently unaffected by the blue stuff. He smiled, now he could kill with even more speed if he wanted. He moved towards a frozen soldier with his normal speed...but...he was slower. He was moving at the speed of a mere mortal! Aansalath growled rather loudly, but he drained a soldier in his anger. He looked to Ixpath with a furrowed brow, he would go next, he didn't know how, but he would go after Alora did. He quelled his anger for the time being. He took it out on the soldeirs of Alexander, yes, he would have to thank him for the meal. He switched to just clawing the men, as a poignant thought about all the missed blood soaking in the ground crossed his mind. He saw the blue field start to break up, and he smiled wildly as he tore out the throat of another man.

(Wow...)

"Damn, not this way either." Chris muttered, racing back and forth through every door he found. Then he figured out the pattern. The rooms all rotated counter clockwise, and moved two spaces to the right. This meant that he only had to find a four way peice and wait for the exit tile to roatate and move to him. Then he'd be through the door and moving on to a more challenging world.

As the haste spell took effect, Andy posed a suggestion. Now that we're supersonic, we can get behind the enemy forces without resistance! Korsu agreed, and they started to circle around the army to the back. Lobbing a quick slash every so often, they hurried to where the ranged units were standing, seemingly frozen in time. Now, their work was easy. Swinging Korsu's blade with merciless fervor, they cut down archer after archer. Eventually, the blue energy surrounding the soldiers began to crack, but they weren't worried. After this battle, we'll have to thank Ixpath for that spell, Korsu thought. That guy's a real master at this.

Nah, Andy thought tiredly. He might seem tough, but he's just a big...a big...

Korsu gagged suddenly, and he stumbled forward. He started to cough, and the foul black smoke started to pour out of his orifices even faster. Collapsing on the ground, he felt Andy's presence fade from his mind. Now the smoke seemed to be floating away, back to Andy's body. Filled with fatigue, Korsu struggled to stand up, and saw that the soldiers were almost free of the spell...

"Ok, now to wait for the door..." He muttered, looking at each hole, watching for the right way. It sure was taking a while.
