"Good." He gave Carlos a little squeeze. "I will hurt anyone who takes advantage of you and I'm sure your dad would do the same." Adrian would end up hurting himself, by getting in fights, if he took advantage of the unicat. Not to mention, Jimi would kill him.
Adrian shook his head. "You remember that?" He will never live it down about the fact that he likes Jane Austen. It was his other secret pleasure. He was kind of touched, again, that Carlos remember that he liked Pride and Prejudice. "That movie is fine."

Carlos purred contentedly, tail flicking a little. There was something about Adrian displaying his sense of protectiveness that made anything they disagreed on all right. It did not matter if they had a difference in opinion on anything, nor how vehemently they disagreed, because they still cared for each other.
The unicat grinned toothily, pressing Play. "Of course I remember. I made sure to buy a copy of the movie and the book after I knew you liked them. I don't have the miniseries though and I still haven't seen it..." Was it weird that he had done that? He just wanted to see what it was Adrian liked so much. He thought he knew, but the story was so fascinating it was easy to forget to look for clues...

A small smile came across the rat's face, something that hadn't been seen in over a year and that had only ever been seen by Carlos. "You actually went out and bought the book and movie, just because I said I enjoyed them? You're one strange kid." At least, strange to Adrian, since no one has really done that before for him and he couldn't see himself doing that for Carlos, unless he was incredibly curious about it.

"Yup! That's what I did." In fact when he found out that Jane Austen had written other books, he had looked into getting those as well, but had not managed to before his home collapsed. So he had yet to do that... and as a result probably would not mention it unless it came up. He had no better reason to do these things than that Adrian was interested in them. There was no harm or shame in investigating someone's interests.
The opening credits were playing, so the unicat's attention drifted to the movie and setting the remote on the bed between them. As he listened to the movie, he also listened to the sound of Adrian's heart and purred happily.

When the movie started, Adrian leaned back against the pillows, moving into a more comfortable position, and pulled Carlos closer to him. The rat knew the movie was a chick flick, that and it also made him become some what of a sap as it goes on; he was glad that the unicat was lying on his shoulder, so the other couldn't really watch Adrian, without turning away from the movie.

Carlos moved to sit back with Adrian, quickly making himself comfortable again. He grinned and gave the rat a hug, curling his tail around his feet (that tuft is better than socks!). "Oh, I almost forgot. There's some tissues on the table near your beer." He didn't suggest outright that Adrian would need them... but the unicat definitely might...

Adrian glared at the unicat. "You trying to say I'm going to need them?" he asked. Carlos may not know that Adrian would probably use them during the movie, but that comment made him think that maybe the other anthro knew he had a soft spot for Jane Austen romances.

"Well I think I might need them..." His ears perked up and he looked up at Adrian. Something told him that it would be a very bad idea to say that it would be all right if the rat did too. "So, um... would you pass them to me...if I do?"

Adrian nodded. "Sure, fine, but be careful not to get my shirt wet, it's new and I don't want to explain why I have water marks on it," he said, joking, but in his normal voice. The rat actually enjoyed messing with the unicat, in a non-violent way, a very rare thing indeed.

Carlos peered up at him with a half-smirk. "So I can't smear them all over your shirt?" They had probably missed five or ten minutes of the movie so far and he did not really mind.

Adrian shook his head. "No, you can't. I don't want Carlos germs all over me." He smirked back at the unicat. The rat couldn't believe how comfortable he was around the younger anthro. Yeah, he was comfortable around him a year ago, but not really this comfortable, it was nice.

Carlos' grin widened. "No Carlos germs? Like these?" The unicat laughed and rubbed his cheek along the front of Adrian's shirt as he clutched at the material. Cat germs! He was purring up a storm, tail flopping lightly against their legs.

Adrian bopped Carlos on the head, gently. "Yes, like that, stop it!" The rat squirmed as his boyfriend was rubbing on him. "Now I have to go home and burn this shirt; it's covered with unicat germs!"

"If you don't want it anymore then give it to me," Carlos chuckled, nuzzling the side of the rat's jaw. But he did stop, just in case the light smack on the head was a warning.

"You want a sweaty, germy t-shirt?" Adrian kissed Carlos' forehead. "You really are a strange kid." He wrapped his arms back around the unicat, he had removed them when he had bopped Carlos on the head.
