Marketa smiled at Sirius's tilting of his head. "See? Dat's where de dog shows."
Remus snapped to attention. "Someone talking about me? I heard the word genius and my ears started buzzing."

Wendy turned back to Remus, smirking. "Haha, who else could I possibly have meant?"

Remus put a thoughtful hand on his chin, trying to think of something quick-witted to say. Not coming up with anything, he just said "I suppose you're right. But Prongs and Padfoot are the naturally smart ones. It's like they learn through osmosis or something!"

"Maybe they've mastered the art of sucking some of your smartness out of the air around you so that they appear naturally smart, as well," she said with mock seriousness, furrowing her brow as though considering the possibilities. Then she dropped the act as she always did before it even took full effect.

"I see," he said, lowering his voice. "Do I smell bad, as well?"

Mar snorted and burrowed her face into his shoulder, inhaling. "Nope, you're fine," she said approvingly.

Electricity. Lightning Bolts. Adrenaline. Shivers. Sparks. Stop that! If you don't quit, you're going to go mad! Be mature - you can't go about this like you would any other girl.
And yet, somehow, that delightful tingle where her face nuzzled his shoulder would not go away. Even if he tried to jinx it out of his mind. "Okay - I was worried there for a minute."

Mar knew that she was testing all sorts of limits, keeping her head on Sirius's shoulder with her arm wound around his. She thought she felt him shiver, and bit her lip so hard she had a nagging feeling she would start tasting blood soon. She felt that she should remove her arm, lift her head, and run in the opposite direction, but she wanted to stay here. She wanted Sirius.
A pair of big brown eyes formed in her mind's eye, and she tensed. No one wanted to go out with a girl with a baby. Sirius had shivered because she was being so inappropriate. She lifted her head, but didn't move her arm from him. "It is no problem."

Sirius looked down at her and noticed the look on her face - had he done something wrong? He thought about asking her... but decided against it; the moment was just too perfect.
He smiled wryly. "You smell quite delightful, yourself, you know - not at all like moss and swan poop..."

Mar couldn't help it; despite her weariness and hormonal confusion, she burst out laughing. There was a harsh, hiss-like "SHHHH!" that had possibly been louder than her laugh off to the side, and Marketa met Madam Pince's death-glare with wide surprised eyes.
"Maybe we should go..."

"I agree!" Sirius exclaimed, dropping his arm from around her shoulder and grabbing her hand instead. He pulled her along behind him as he tore out of the library, not pausing to say goodbye to Remus during his flight.

Wendy smiled after them as Sirius and Marketa tore out of the library. "Sirius is quite the womanizer, I've noticed," she said, smirking. "Is he like that with all girls?" she asked, thinking she knew the answer.

Remus nearly laughed. "Actually, he's quite the romantic at heart. He's just all goofy over her at the moment, because for some reason he can't have her."

"Ah, the lovers' downfall," Wendy said sagely. "As humans, we always want what we can't have." Wendy shook her head sadly, then brightened a bit. "Well, I hope he does get her, in the end."

Sasha just sat there, listening to the conversation. "So do I." She chimed in. Looks at Remus and smiles.
