"Every time you come here, and every time you leave," Armus replied with a grin. "So for now ... pretty much every day. Actually we might do it every day even once you're here to stay, too ... it works on your breathing and your muscles, so it's good for you, it will make you stronger and faster while your endurance increases."
She smiled down at Kanis. "Don't worry, it's not the only thing we'll be doing. Once we get up to where we'll be staying there will be beds to prepare, fires to build, dinner to make ... survival first, fighting second, but it's all training and it's all necessary."
Aras followed after Kanis and Armus. She wasn't as fast as either of them, mostly because she was looking around at everything so that she wouldn't get lost ... but she said nothing, following after them silently.
Corrah stared patiently at Ruran, his eyes never changing, his grip never faltering, even for a second.

Kanis nods listening. It did make sense that to train to be a knight or warrior one must also learn to survive in the wild alone. She was so excited to start her training. She was going to get her dream and she would not let anything stop her. Even if her siblings learned quicker or better than her she would not give up.
"Yes it makes sense. There is so much to learn...I will try my very best ma'am."
A smirk drew across Ruran's face as his pictured how Corrah would look with his mother. He would be so stiff and cold. He started to laugh at the thought of them.

Armus grinned at Kanis. "And that's all that anyone can do," she agreed. "Aras, keep up, we don't want to lose you."
Aras looked up at Armus and nodded, picking up her pace a little bit so that she was walking next to her sister. The ground was getting steeper and steeper as they went, but she refused to let the ground conquer her. She would dominate this mountain!
Still Corrah did not flinch. "I am glad you're enjoying yourself," he said in a bored tone. "Though I'm sure I don't care to know what you're thinking about."
Something twisted from the look on his face.

Kanis smiled brightly and looked at her sister. She knew that she should not suggest a run because the steepness of the walk was also doing a good job on her legs and lungs. She could feel her body already working hard.
Ruran turned to look at Corrah, "Yes it is not so bad here. And no..you would not find it funny...you have no sense of humor. Or if you do, like the rest of you, it is probably messed up or warped." He smirked his mind going back to amuse the idea and the clumsyness of them but then he got tired of thinking of Corrah naked and went back to hanging there his eyes now looking into the blue eyes of a killer.

"You're doing fine," Armus smiled at both of the girls. "Just remember ... breathe evenly. Even if you want to gasp or pant or whatever ... take slow even breaths, and you'll last a lot longer, and your muscles will thank you for it."
Aras nodded seriously. "Slow and even," she muttered to herself. "Got it."
And she took a deep breath, letting it out slowly as she trudged along. After a few moments, she looked up at Armus and pouted, "It's harder than it sounds."
"I know," Armus smiled, "but you'll get used to it. I promise."
Corrah didn't look away, didn't even blink. "I do have a sense of humour, though I doubt that you will ever be on the receiving end of it," he replied in the same bored tone. "But you will grow hungry soon enough. How long can you go without food?"
Now his tone was taunting, mocking.

Kanis looked up at Armus watching how the woman breathed evenly even wail talking. She tried to even her breath and breath slowly but she started to feel a bit lightly headed. Her breaths a bit too mix on the inhale. She started to breath a bit harder because of it and grew tired quickly from getting a bit too much oxygen.
Ruran raised a brow. "I am sure Armus is the only one who will get any humor from you." thinking of Armus and Corrach in the 'trawls of passion' or lack there of. "Well then I will just pass out in your hands of starvation."

Armus paused, looking down at Kanis.
"Ah ... Kanis dear ... are you all right?" she asked softly, kneeling beside her and putting one hand out to stop her. "Aras hold up ..."
She picked up Kanis and lay her down on the ground. "Just lay still, breathe," she instructed. "Get your air back."
She had completely forgotten about elevation sickness ... was that what was happening? That wouldn't be good.
Corrah did not rise to his bait. "Well, I won't complain," he said evenly. "One less problem for me to take care of. Starve if you want to. But I will tell you one thing: you are the only being I have ever met that does not have a fiercely strong survival instinct."

Kanis winced as she was stopped but she didn't complain as she was laid down she shut her eyes and tried to breath calmly. Though she was getting enough air she felt like she wasn't and in fact she was hyperventilating and getting even more oxygen that she needed.
Ruran laughs, "Not when I know you will not kill me because my parents will not like that. And my sister wont trust you if I died." He laughed and nods shaking or raising either though his anger started to build at the fact he was getting insulted again.

"Now," Armus murmured, putting one hand on Kanis's chest so that she wouldn't be able to take deep breaths, "slow it down ... close your eyes ..."
Aras looked up at Armus. "Is she going to be okay?" she asked softly.
Armus nodded, but her face was serious. "Unless she passes out from hyperventilation," she replied softly. "But I'm sure she'll be all right." And she took off her beret and held it over Kanis's mouth and nose to stop some of the oxygen flow.
Corrah laughed, a short barking laugh. "You're assuming that I care what they think!" he replied, his eyes glowing brighter now. "I don't care about people trusting me, or your parents liking me or what I do. They want me to train you, this is your training. Take it or leave it, kid. I don't care either way. It's your call."

Kanis tried to calm down. She felt the hat over her mouth and after a few minutes her breathing finally eases a bit and her body relaxed again. She blushed softly and once her breath was almost normal she sighed, "I...I am sorry ma'am."
Ruran shruged, "What ever your still a sick pervert. It doesn't matter. If your so bad and you don't care bout others than why take new trainies?" Well the laugh was new.

Armus smiled and relaxed, putting her beret back on her head and straightening it.
"Don't apologize," she replied firmly, "learn. You need to take slow breaths ... slow ... not constantly. Take a second or two between breaths. If you feel yourself getting too much oxygen, put something over your mouth - your shirt or something."
She blinked, looking at Kanis's almost non-existent shirt, and laughed.
"Or something."
"Am I so bad?" Corrah challenged. "You don't know anything about me. I never said that I do not care about others - I just do not care about your siblings or parents - or you. As for my reasons for accepting you as trainees ..."
He blinked slowly, though his arm did not move.
"They are my own, and not your business."
He still didn't see a reason why Ruran was calling him a sick pervert either, but to be honest he didn't particularly care. The child was nothing to him but an annoyance who needed to be dealt with. He could call him anything he wanted. It made no difference to him.

Kanis sat up slowly and looked down. She knew that both trainers would know of her breathing mishap. "Yes ma'am....I will try to remember. Slow breaths and cover if I feel like I am about to pass out breath into something.
Ruran laughed, "Oh I am sure we will find out why you allowed us to be trained by your amazing skills." he said emotionlessly. He sighed and lifted his arms to stretch them before allowing his weight to rest back on his shirt. "So the woman you trained lasted 4 days in your nasty hand...I guess I can beat that...She was just a girl after all."

Armus smiled and nodded at Kanis. "Exactly," she said brightly. "Excellent. I can tell you're going to be a star pupil!"
She paused, still grinning at Kanis. "Take your time, just let me know when you're ready to keep going."
Corrah was tempted to roll his eyes, but he stopped himself from doing so.
"She was a child then, but yes," he agreed, "she lasted about four days hanging like this."
It had been her surrender, not his tiredness, that had ended the ordeal - he knew he could last as long as he needed to for this. But she had also been through some training before that time - so she had been able to stand a bit of hunger and thirst ... and her body had been able to stand some of the torture of being suspended like that for so long.

Kanis still looked more embrassed even with the compliment. "Thank you ma'am...I will try to be."
She turned to look at Aras and sighed, "I am sorry I made us stop. Shall we start going again?" As she said the last one she looked from her sister to their trainer.
Ruran sighed and fidgeted again. He was started to get tired and very bored with his. He didn't know if he would make it this time. He didn't want a girl beating him holding over his head. But he was fading quickly. At least when the stupid girls were here there was something for him to look at.

Armus smiled. "Only if you're ready," she said softly. "We may have started your training now, but I won't have you collapse on my watch."
Aras skittered over to her sister and took one hand, trying to help her to her feet. "You're feeling better now, right?" she asked anxiously. "You're going to be okay?"
She didn't want to do this without her sister beside her every step of the way ...
Corrah was just getting comfortable in his position, with his one arm up, the other one behind his back. Even the craning of his neck didn't bother him, not in the least. He was more than prepared for this.
