Hope things look up for you. ^^ Personal drama always does one of two things for me: either it kills my writing dead, or it inspires the ******** out of me. If there must be personal drama for you, I'm rooting for Option #2.

Things are looking up! And frankly, I honestly feel better about that thing with my ex than I did before. Everyone has been so supportive.
And, well, let me tell all of you a story.
I would not be working on my novel if not for what happened with my ex. I lost all of my savings and the love of my life and I was amazingly depressed for an amazingly long time. I spent days in my room making doll kimono and avoiding talking to people. Sometimes, I watched Law and Order with my cat or surfed 4chan.
I saw no reason to do anything else. I figured that having no purpose was obviously my destiny. I would sit around and do things that made me feel less crappy. And if that was all I ever accomplished- well, fine.
I don't really remember what triggered it, but one day I started to think: "You know what would really make me happy? To write a really horrible, crass, out-there book. Of course, I'm made of fail and I'll never be able to do that, but maybe it would also make me happy to try."
And, well, I am 166K into trying as of tonight!

4chan is a portal to the semi-secret tenth level of hell. It's where memes and Anonymous come from. Manifested on the internet, it looks like an image board. I am hesitant to provide a link considering the content of some of the sections, but if you want to look, I would say your e-life has not been complete until you have done so.

I got the dollmore thing sorted out. They replaced the wrong/busted items. Didn't get the shipping overcharge back AND they deleted my account so I couldn't buy from then again if I was crazy enough to try. What can I do but laugh?
I've been super busy at work, but I'm back spending time with the Doorstop again. The wrong is starting to come together! I think if I can just get over the chapter after the next one, I'll be pretty well off and things will move downhill on their own. So, I am hoping to finish by early October so I can do a Halloween special again this year.
Err. Finish last year's. It ran long. I'm also getting requests that I finish this one fanfic I had running before the Era of the Doorstop. I really need a beta for it though. Added to this quandary, I realized recently that it would be possible to morph one of my old outlines into a pretty kickass Twilight condemnation.

I'm going to give the outline that could get all AntiTwi (is that like AntiFolk?) a good, hard look this weekend. I think I may be on to something.
But, I seriously just had someone offer to lick my toes if I finish my own old fanfics. Hully CRAP, I didn't even think it was that good! Well, that's what you get for being slightly above mediocre in a small fandom I guess.
I'm still in purely theoretical land as far as finishing the Doorstop in time to do a Halloween special goes, but that is my major post-finishing concern. I left a lot of people hanging last year, and frankly, the last sex scene needed more work! So it was hanging on a bad note no less. *guilt*
Speaking of naughty, I finally picked out some music for the WTF-inducing climactic naked romp in the Doorstop. "No Time to Cry" by The Sisters of Mercy. Oh great gods of non-g-rated fiction, please let the porn be as epic in the file as it is in my head...
I haven't really "picked' most music for this book. I just listen to what I feel like listening to. Seems to work well. The characters don't even have theme songs in my brain.

I was flattered, mostly. You write porn, you get strange offers. It's the way of the world. Also- *hugs!*.
So, umm... don't think the Twilight sendup is going to work, darnit. I think I could still write the book, but if I get the SMeyer mockery up in there yet, it would end up WAY too complicated and the narrative itself would suffer.
I say we all mock her by writing better! That'll show her!
I swear, Twilight has given me more hope to be published than aught else in the universe. Seriously.
Anyway- good news! I was finally able to calculate roughly how much I have left and how long it will take me to turn out.
I have about 100 pages / 50K words left.
I could be done in nine weeks.
I would LIKE to be done before that so I can have more time to turn out some Halloween guro. We shall see! Onward I go...

So I passed 180K yesterday.
I don't know what's wrong with me either!

I've been very busy at work and busy with my draft files. Sort of drifting between punching in numbers and writing surreal humor for a strange combination of never knowing quite where I am or what I'm doing. But I'm happy.
I had an idea while punching some policy numbers in this morning. I think I could do a Twlight sendup! Not with the old outline, but with a book that has no other purpose. Still trying to put my ideas into a usable form, but I might be getting distracted from my Nakama story. Ah well. That needs works too.

This busy patch at work is just not ending! Well, hopefully, it will be better soon. We have a new back room person- a fifty-year-old lady who wears Urban Decay makeup and stands on her desk in her bare feet XD.
Actually, it hasn't been just work. It's also been having the roof fixed, bad allergy attacks, the car breaking down and dolls. :X Ah, these things. They all happen at once, don't they? XD
I'm currently writing one of the first scene I imagined. It feels most creepy, but in a good way. I think maybe I am being a little overenthusiastic with the characters celebrating though, but it's hard not to be on account of my own happiness.
