Aya shrugged and stood. It was better than doing nothing, although she didn't mind either of the two. She brushed her clothes off, making sure to comb her hair this time with her hand. She got as much sand out of it as she could, then looked up. She didn't know there was an orientation, but she kind of guessed there would be. She looked him over. He did look pretty light. She laughed at the irony of his weight and his real name. She looked down at her own figure and shrugged.
"Well have you eaten yet? They have a cafeteria. Would you like to go get something to eat?" she asked, though she herself wasn't hungry. She never was. She would eat anything you put in front of her, but that was just because it was what she was supposed to do. She'd gone a week once without eating in The Cell. But that only made her unable to fight back when they wanted to test. So she always made sure to at least eat twice a day.
She stared at him for a response.

((Aya doesn't know that he's already eaten.))

Harmony couldn't help but start laughing when he said that. It wasn't a big laugh, just a small soft laugh. The sentence was just so strange to hear, something not normal. " These mutations make the weirdest accidents that I never thought were possible in the real world." Harmony said once she calmed down. Even though she was one of these 'mutants' herself, the whole idea just seemed so unrealistic. It was like some comic book storyline. "Sometimes I just can't really get myself to think this whole situation is real." Harmony said in a quieter tone.

"It's fine. I have a feeling not many people came here of their own free will," said Lois with a smile.

He looked at Aki. It was obvious she had gone through many schools. Lois had to admit, he'd been a bit of a suck-up. He'd always beent he smart one in class, but surprisingly, he was never bullied. People actually respected him.

"Yeah. But I think I believed it when I found myself in Illinois after picking up a refrigerator two days earlier," smiled Riley.

Riley's glance traveled to the ocean behind them. Where he had lived, the ocean was only talk. He'd never actually seen it. To see its blue wonder now was amazing, and breath-taking. He managed to pull his gaze away from it.

"I do wonder, what was the point in brining us here? Yes, it gets us away from the normal people and discrimination and crap and puts us all together, but don't you think it's strange? That it's one place, not severaL I mean, they could convince us to do just about anything. Age-wise we're all unstable cause of hormones, and most of us want to be normal and accepted..." Aki trailed off, feeling like one of the government conspiracy theorists.

Harmony smiled and shrugged. "It'll finally hit me sooner or later." She said watching him as he turned his gaze. She too turned her head, trying to figure out what he was looking at. Probably the ocean, she decided turning back to look at Riley. Harmony silently stood there, having run out of things to say. Sticking her hands back into her sweatshirt pocket she blew a small bubble with her gum but quickly popped it before it grew any bigger. " Is this your first time at this school or have you been her before?" Harmony asked realizing that she really didn't know that. It seemed like this was his first year, but she wasn't sure.

Arkell cocked her head to the side as she watched Erin sit down next to her on the floor. She listened to her and then merely shrugged. "I remember somebody saying 'forget about me' and thats it. I don't know who said it or anything. I just ran back to my room because there was something important I had to write down." She opened up her diary, carefully avoiding showing any of the pages that had real entries on them.

She looked down and showed her where she had written "Aaron Leerup" in her diary as well as her room number. "I just remember the name, really thats it." She closed the diary quickly her hands twitching as she scratched at her forearm looking away from her. "I must sound really desperate huh...I mean I write down somebodies name and then try to find them..." Her hair turned pink again and started to fizzle. She started to itch her arm a little faster not even realizing she was doing it really.

"Who knows. It really doesn't matter to me."

Lois sighed, leaning against the tree. He crossed his arms across his chest and looked at Aki. He wasn't surprised she didn't get why they were there. The guy was pretty sure not a lot of kids understood it. Like him for instance.

"Yup, first year here. You," smiled Riley.

He had to admit he was impressed. The school was already feeling like home, not that he liked being here or anything. But it was better than with his fueding mom and dad, and the chance that he might get mad again.

"Same," Harmony replied with a nod. "It's not that bad here though. Quite interesting acctually." She said looking around at their surroundings. Even with all of the students and faculty walking around and talking, the island seemed calm to her. It was probably the fact that was no tense feelings about people with mutations here. Harmony smiled at the thought as she continued to look around.

Lite looked down at his stomach, then back up to Aya. He had probably already decided it was time for another helping of lunch. "To the cafeteria we go then! I've got the munchies something awful, man. But uh, I don't remember the way back, so it might take a while navigating through the rough rain forests of... uh, where are we again?" Lite's absentmindedness was becoming rather frustrating to himself, though he didn't pay much attention to it. He started to lead the way and in doing so decided that some small talk was in order. "So, eh, you met your roommates yet? If you have them, I mean. I haven't met mine yet, but I bet he's cool cause after all, they always pair me up with cool kids. Of course, that's why my folks sent me here from my home. They couldn't deal with how chill everyone was. Where are you from?" Lite went on and on, not knowing when to stop for air or anything.

((Um, mutants are world-wide, not just a phenomenon in the United States. The academy was ordered to be built by the United Nations after all...))

Sam wandered aimlessly around the island, staring absently at a wallet-size photograph. He was heading for the south side, after poking around the cafeteria and auditorium. The building had been much more spacious than the size would lead you to believe. The cafeteria was quite empty, chairs and tables lined up neatly in lovely rows and columns. It was probably the nicest-looking building Sam had seen in quite a while. No matter how many times he saw it, he was always impressed.

His thoughts were so focused on the little picture in his hand that he didn't look up in time to see the student he bumped into, nearly knocking over. His thoughts shifted almost immediately upon impact, at which point he said, "Oh, sorry! I wasn't paying attention! Are you alright?"

((Tana, the student in this post was you.))

Marie sprinted across the grass barefoot, holding her sandals tightly in her hands to contain her excitement. Legs wobbling under her slightly due to the still hovering effect of the sea, she knew they would hold against the strong thrusting against the ground. Marie’s excitement was all do to the map she had glance at in the dormitories while taking her things to her room. She had flung her items excitedly into her room before bolting back to the map, making sure her destination and being on her way to the auditorium.

Marie caught her breath a bit before entering the building, since the first floor was the cafeteria. Blushing a bit and pushing her dark hair behind her ears, she slipped swiftly to the stairs once spotting them after a moment. She climbed, Marie’s face breaking into a smile and growing larger with each step before pushing against the heavier auditorium doors and entering heaven. The countless seats and sloping walls and floors, the deep burgundy enveloping it all with mahogany wooding and specks of gold from number plates and discrete but elegant decoration, the amazing lighting and sound booths place in away but all knowing places, and of course: the stage.

Marie breathed outward and a quick and prideful step toward the lip of the stage which had the working to be lowered and work as an orchestra pit. She climbed up the lip gracefully, being careful of her skirt and spinning up to her feet. Dropping her shoes, she felt the stage beneath her feet. It was made for anything and everything. She slipped each foot in front of the other, glancing the soles of her feet against the stage in sweeps, bending her back knee and letting her arms reach out. Marie smiled and began a long deserved dance. Bangles jiggled lightly on her ankles and wrist as she laughed to herself. She spun and leapt in her long flowing skirt, reaching to the sky and to things unknown with her arms.

Marie came to a standstill at center stage, letting her skirt, long hair, and bangles settle before lifting her head in an intention to lift her voice. She wanted to fill the large empty room with her sound, but Marie withdrew.
She cleared her throat and simply looked off stage wanting to explore further. She saw covered piano off stage left. Rolling the piano out of stage left slightly, Marie undercover the grand, running her fingers across the ivory keys.

She sat. And Marie did fill that auditorium with her sound. It may not be her voice, but she knew she must wait for that. But this sound was also that of her own, and hopefully would be enough to show what words she could not speak.

There had been a collision between Lite and another student, whom Lite felt he had recognized, but had never met before. After recomposing himself and making sure Aya was alright, he rotated his head towards the new person. "Woah man, that was a close one haha! I'm glad I didn't fall or that could have been pretty messy, right? Are you sure you're alright, man? Cause I'm just fine. My name is Lite, but everyone calls me Smokey, like Smokey the Bear haha! Oh! And this is Aya." He pointed towards the girl next to him. "We were just on our way to the cafeteria, man, gotta calm the munchies before they eat my stomach, then to the auditorium or wherever we find ourselves. Join us!" Lite insisted, not even taking no for an answer he started pushing the two in jest towards wherever he thought the cafeteria even was. He paused only for a moment, to take out a f** ((that's what we call cigarettes here)) and light it, making sure the smoke and the smell wouldn't reach the other two. "Sorry, bad habit, but it's hard to stop when you're around smoke constantly."

Sam smiled. He put the picture in his pocket and said, "Oh, yeah. I'm alright. I've felt worse pain than this." He smiled at Aya and introduced himself. "It's nice to meet you two! The name's Sam. Sam O'Reilly. As for the cafeteria, I just came from there, but I'll join you! It's more fun when you're not travelling alone, anyway." He began walking toward the cafeteria once more, not waiting for the others to catch up. "You guys'll have to move faster than that, though!" he called over his shoulder. "At this rate, I'll get there five minutes before ya!"

Once she was done packing Terra realized how hungry she was. She could feel her stomach acids burn into the sides of her stomach. She decided to go to the cafeteria, and since she didn’t know if they charged you for food like most schools did, she pulled out a little less than a thousand yen from her messenger bag. Her parents had supplied her with plenty of money just in case. She was about to leave her room when she remembered something. She went back over to her brown messenger bag and took out Hamlet by William Shakespeare. She didn’t particularly like the book, but her parents wanted her to read some ‘classic literature’ so she had promised to read it.

She took in a deep breath once she was outside. It was a nice day, and Terra was tempted to kick off her shoes and run to all the way to the woods on the southern part of the island and just spend the whole day relaxing. Of course she didn’t act on that impulse, instead she headed towards the cafeteria. She watched as other students passed her, most of them chatting with friends. Because of her quite nature she had never really had any friends, and she envied the people that could so easily pick up friends.

Once she reached the cafeteria she heard singing, or more like humming coming from the auditorium on the second floor. For some reason or another, she liked the noise. She forgot all about her hunger and climbed the stairs to the second floor. She sat down in the back row as discreetly as possible; hoping the girl humming would take no notice of her. She only looked at the girl for a moment before opening her book to a dog-eared page and beginning to read from where she had left off.
