Soul Burst

The one problem with Vahn's diversion tactics was that, he had underestimated his opponents strengths and weaknesses. That would prove to be a mistake that might cost him some serious damage, because Soul Method 2 was not an attack enhancer only, it was actually for defense if used correctly.

Even though Sil Mei couldn't see, he could feel, and it should have crossed the man's mind that this was indeed another diversion tactic. His target had not been Vahn himself knowing it would be futile to try and hit this man directly. His Blossoms of energy gathered at where the man would hit, because they would directly feel the man's fighting intentions. They themsleves were fighting spirit so it would be like trying to lie to a mirror, it just isn't possible no matter how hard you try. They swarmed like bee's at where the man would kick. They ignored the illusions and focused on the point of attack.

Before Vahn made contact though Sil slammed his fist into the ground causing it to splinter and crack. He sent his energy through the ground and pretty much flushed the whole area with his energy causing it to crack and split. What he lost in speed in this form, he made up in sheer power. He had now become the battle field, and that meant he could follow this man in energy if not in body, but then all of a sudden his cherry blossoms swarmed and he knew there would be an attack at his chin, but then all of the sudden it came form the right and he winced as the after image split and dissipated.

Sil knew that the blossoms would know where the true attack would come from, but it was till unnerving having a copy of an attack come at you. The next two images happened so quickly, he hadn't had time to prepare as his left arm grabbed the ground to stop his fall, and it did because of the sheer muscle and power he had now. Then all of the sudden the ture attack came. A flame encrusted foot slamming at unbelievable speeds came up and shot at the cluster of blossoms. Then the effect of his Soul Method 2 would come into play.

Since the blossoms had no mass they could not 'block' in a traditional manner, but their method was much more ffeicient and effective. It took no time at all for them too register with the attack and absorb it's energy and send it rght back at the opponent. So in fact was that the man would be kicking his own kick's force because on object in motion stays in motion unless acted upon by another force and Newton's third law also came into play, for every force there is an opposite reactionary force, thus cancelling eachother out. It was an almost perfect defense except for some weaknesses which this man would figure out eventually.

It was now time for Sil Mei's counter attack the Soul of the Nidhogg, a creature that Sil himself had defeated when he had died and gone to the next realm of life. He had aquired the beasts soul in one of his gem's. The one on his left fore-arm to be precise. It glowed furiously as he activated the attack. He had sent his enrgy out along the ground rupturing the earth for about a distance of 3 quarters of a kilometer. There was no way Vahn was fast enough to outrun this next attack, because in fact it had begun when he had let out the Soul Burst. The Nidhogg's attack was it's sheer ferocity of it's enrgy attack. It was unmatched in power because the Nidhogg was the mortality of the world, and that force was so great only immortals can parallel it's intensity.

A torrent of energy released from the ground erupting into the air. This was not Sil Mei's power now, but the Nidhogg's because Sil Mei could never achieve this power in his form. The latice work of energy that Sil Mei had sent out had served as the base for the attack. All 3 quarters of the kilometer literally exploded, the ground literally lifted up and then dintegrated in the sheer ferocity of the energy. Even Sil Mei would be damaged by this attack, but not too a high degree because he was somewhat protected from the Soul of the Nidhogg and Sil Mei's were now one, but the forces would still buffet Sil's body and since this was his attack the blossom's would not react to the forces. The massive attack would cause a crater 3/8 of a kilometer deep. He would not be able to use this attack for about four months now because the Nidhogg's Soul would be drained, and even though they were one they did not use eachother's powers because that is impossible with out a catalyst. Sil Mei whispered back too Vahn as the ground was disintegrateing around them.

No I don't.

Sil Mei was ripped away by the forces and flung directly outwards because they were at the epicenter of the attack. The problem now was that he had drained his Soul's energy by creating the lattice work that large, and his Nidhogg's Soul was now drained. If Vahn somehow was able to be in a state to fight, Sil was would not be. He now only had his physical strength and his jewels plus the two Soul Methods because their energy was already used and kept them in existance. The other problem was that he was being flung quite forcefully towards the tree which was not part of his plan.

Needless to say- there would be no summoning of Nidhogg.

Sil Mei
Before Vahn made contact though Sil slammed his fist into the ground causing it to splinter and crack. He sent his energy through the ground and pretty much flushed the whole area with his energy causing it to crack and split.

The ground was breaking in on itself, and Vahn had been in this warped world long enough to know that since the ground they were on was nothing more than a bonified floating platform, Amodeus only knows where the hell someone would end up if they fell off, and into apparent oblivion. He had learned this the hard way, in his short bout with Sun. What happened next was pure instict... and righteous timing on Vahn's end.

Sil Mei
The next two images happened so quickly, he hadn't had time to prepare as his left arm grabbed the ground to stop his fall...

Vahn the Devil
Vahn's right arm was outstretched...

Vahn's arm, already- coveniently in position, all he had to do was reach out, and latch his seemingly small hand to the beefy trunk that was the swordsmans left arm. Vahn wasn't about to end up falling, and if he was going to he would bring the idiot along with him. Who in there right mind destroys the only thing keeping them afloat?!

Sil Mei
A flame encrusted foot slamming at unbelievable speeds came up and shot at the cluster of blossoms.

Vahn's kick struck home, lifting the bulking body straight up, even as the ground began break up around them both, brumbling to nothing. Vahn's right hand still clung tightly to his opponent's arm at this point...

Sil Mei
It took no time at all for them too register with the attack and absorb it's energy and send it rght back at the opponent. So in fact was that the man would be kicking his own kick's force because on object in motion stays in motion unless acted upon by another force and Newton's third law also came into play, for every force there is an opposite reactionary force, thus cancelling eachother out. It was an almost perfect defense except for some weaknesses which this man would figure out eventually.

"Tch!" Vahn's turned, both bodies now would begint os uccumb to gravity itself, as they literally would be having no ground to stand on. Exuding heat, giving him enough lift to turn his right foot felt lodged, but he didn't feel any real effect. This wasn't Dragon Ball Z... Vahn didn't have any type of material 'energy'. The Black Flame was unnatural, elemental flame at best. And thats describing it lightly. Vahn was unaffected by heat and flames, including his own, even when part of him is aflame and the rest of him is not. His flesh cannot be scalded or burned by any heat source whose level is below that of his maximum output. Being a man with this flame running through his very blood- it stands to reason that he would be unaffected by something as his own attack, I mean what kind of an idiotic fire elemental gets injured by fire?

Vahn's left foot would come swinging, angled mid-air as Vahn's body continued turning, using his opponents arm like a 'pole', to send his left foot hopefully smashing into the side of the swordsmans face as a reward for taking the ground they stood on.

Sil Mei
It was now time for Sil Mei's counter attack the Soul of the Nidhogg, a creature that Sil himself had defeated when he had died and gone to the next realm of life. He had aquired the beasts soul in one of his gem's. The one on his left fore-arm to be precise.

"Damn you! Go straight to HELL!"
Left arm? It was funny you should mention, a left arm. Why- Vahn's right hand was clutching onto a left arm! Vahn's right arm had been aflame ever since stopping that 'energy bubble' a few moments ago! And the heat about Vahn and anyone in the vincinity, had slowly, steadily- been increasing. The sweat on his opponent's body might have indeed been something of a neon sign flashing- saying 'Danger! Danger!' But of course... No one ever worries about careless things such as body sweat.

But why was this so important?

Ordinarily, when using the black flame, he can only focus it about his left arm, which is enveloped by a low intensity flame of low level heat (jet black, approximately 780 Fahrenheit), which ranges from 1 to 5 inches from his body. He generates the black flame whenever his blood is directly exposed to oxygen, so therefore, his very blood is a weapon in of itself. He can, however, generate much higher levels and flames about himself as well as disperse it onto other body parts, as he sees fit. He can also reduce objects' temperatures (if they are in a normal range for existing on Earth's surface) to about 30 F, raise them to several hundred degrees, or extinguish open flames. His radius of influence is about 80 feet. And it was safe to say that his opponent was withing that range.

As of right now- Vahn was done with the warm up. It was time to heat things up. The temperature of the fiery projections 'ribboning' off of his right arm, and engulfing his entire right hand, was around 2,989 F (the melting point of iron). This meant that in theory- his opponents left arm, as well as any other exposed flesh, was basically seared, and slagged severely. No amount of 'streghtened' muscle fiber could withstand such a point blank, 'flame-thrower' so to speak. Vahn bringing out the intensity of his black flames full force- to do what they did best- flame broil any poor sap in his way!

Aside from that, if the man was still alive - the unlucky swordsman would now be suffering from a totality of effects, aside from having lost an entire limb and what not:

Quote:
1.) Damage from Heat Inhalation:

True lung burn occurs only if you directly breathe in a hot air/flame source, or have high pressure force the heat into you. In most cases, thermal injury is confined to the upper airways, because the trachea usually shields the lung from thermal loads. However, secondary airway involvement can occur after inhalation of steam as it has a greater thermal capacity than dry air. When hot air enters the nose, damage to the mucous membranes can readily transpire as the upper airway acts as a cooling chamber.

2.) Damage from Systemic Toxins:

Systemic Toxins affect the ability to absorb oxygen. Toxin poisoning can cause permanent damage to organs including the brain.

3.) Damage from Third-degree Burns:

Third-degree burns affect the epidermis, dermis and hypodermis, causing charring of skin or a translucent white color, with coagulated vessels visible just below the skin surface. These burn areas may be numb, but the person may complain of pain. This pain is usually because of second-degree burns. Healing from third-degree burns is very slow due the skin tissue and structures being destroyed. Third-degree burns usually result in extensive scarring.

4.) Damage from Heatstroke:

The underlying cause of heatstroke is connected to the sometimes sudden inability to dissipate body heat through perspiration, especially after strenuous physical activity. This accounts for the excessive rise in body temperature, and it is the high fever which can cause permanent damage to internal organs and can result in death if not treated immediately. Recovery depends on heat duration and intensity.

When you play with fire... Your going to get burned.

Soul Burst

The heat was too much for the behemoth. Sil Mei realized his mistake now, he had forgotten that power is useless unless used correctly. He felt something, maybe regret or possibly fear. The flames rolled down the left side of his body and slowly devoured his flesh. As he inhaled the heat burned his esaphagous and caused permanent damage to his lungs. His hair simply dissolved as the heat increased. He felt his conciousness simply fade as his eyes were touched by the fire of this man. The Soul Retainer fell into a state of unconciousness, and his usually strong soul dwindled to a small flame.

The soul blossoms were now confused by the fact that they now had no host soul to use as a reference for their defence. One by one they also dissipated along with Soul Retainer's augmented body. The eight gems, which could with stand immense of amount of heat, on his burned body glowed a very faint azure blue as each of the souls that resided in them realized that without a host body, the gems would be useless. Each one decided to act in unison as they used pure energy to rip away the charred flesh that bound them. Then as the came free from the near dead Sil Mei, his body succumbed to the man's flames and heat and slowly disintegrated as they fell.

The eight gems then used pure energy enrgy to create a net of soerts, that would support the dwindling soul of Sil Mei. Each gem sprouted wings that loked similiar to those of a bat and began to ascend to another platform supported by the huge limbs of the Tree. One gem in particular had a very small red epicenter in it's light glow. It appeared to lead the other soul gems in their flight away from the dangerous man.

There in the shadows stood Zariel, he was tucked into the corner of the stadium with a marlboro light stuck in his lips, all that could be seen of him were his dimly glowing eyes and the burning cherry of his cigerette, and every now and then was a small puff of smoke that shot it's way skyward. He was bored, and he was hungry.

Vincent entered the stadium, seeing a man standing a corner and smoke drifting upward from him. He slowly walked closer, his lead boots alerting anyone with ears to his presence. Stopping several feet from the man, Vincent drew his sword from the claws which kept it held to the back of his coat. Clucthing the sword in his left hand, a twisted, sinewy, boney, clawed hand, he stared at the man, if he could tell only one thing about him, it was that he wouldn't need to initiate the fight he wanted...

He stared at the man who had the blade in hand, he took one last long drag off of his smoke and spit it out, along with one last jet of smoke. Then he grinned, a grin that resembled that of the cheshire cat. All that could be seen were his now radiantly glowing green eyes and his glowing white grin. He chuckled a bit."And what do you plan to do with that, little one?"

"I think we both know the answer to that," Vincent whispered to the man. Shadow was not a thing he cared about any longer, through his eyes shadows no longer existed and concepts of "light" and "dark" had long since been forgotten.

Vincent waved his left arm in front of him, shifting the grip on his sword to hold it in inversely with the blade extending out of the bottom of his hand. Then, he took a deep breath before he slowly advanced upon his opponent...

"Heh, I'll give you one free shot. Granted I'll stop it if it's lethal, but it's a free shot none the less."He said as he reached behind his back and pulled out a dagger sized razor blade. He stood there smiling and ready for any thing, his white shirt still stained with the blood of self sustained wounds. He stood with the blade loose in his hands and his smile still plastered on his face.

"Is that so?" Vincent whispered. "Well, I better make it worthwhile then, shouldn't I?" He wondered why one would give such an opportunity to an opponnet, but all the wonder in the world wouldn't keep him from exploiting the chance he got. He sheathed his blade and drew from his coat three needles, six inches long and made of lead. Gripping them between the fingers of his left hand, energy poured from within him into the needles.

Now filled to the brim with energy that would corrode living matter, the needles radiated a dark aura. A wicked grimace came upon Vincent's face before throwing the three needles at the man, one by one in quick succession. The first was aimed at the center of his chest, the second would find his left shoulder, while the third his right...

Zee wasn't born yesterday. When he said he'd stop a fatal attack he meant it. He wasn't strong by any means, but he was one of the faster beings that Hell could pop out. His razor was in his left hand, and it cought the first needle, knocking it away in a blur of motion, the second was batted away by one of his clawed hands, the third never hit his shoulder becaue of a quick pivot of his body.
"Tsk tsk tsk." He said as he shook his head slowly."Too slow my boy, much too slow."

As soon as the projectiles left his hand, Vincent drew a matchbox from a pocket in his coat. After removing a single match, he put the matchbox back and promptly struck the match against his left hand, transfering that same energy into the matchhead. He tossed the match to the ground in front of his opponent and watched as it would erupt violently in a column of fire beneath him, wide enough to consume him completely. Though, of course, with nothing to fuel the fire, it would die soon after...

Zariel was born from flame and pain. The firey column erupted beneath him, and it succesfully burned his clothes off, they remanifested themselves soon before the fire died down again. "Well......that was useless."

Vincent cursed in a foreign tongue, failing in dealing damage, though at least he had come a step closer to knowing his opponent better. Realizing that there must be a reason why his opponent wasn't attacking, Vincent chose a different tactic. He stomped his right foot on the ground and employed his ability to manipulate the gravity of the surrounding environment. Soon everything around him and his opponent would become much heavier, including both themselves. Although Vincent had undergone much training to resist his own ability, the stranger standing before him wasn't likely to have done the same...

Seeing his opponent's swift reaction Vincent made one of his own. He reached forward with his left hand, trying to touch any part of the man's body. Upon doing so, he would manipulate the stranger's inertia to change the direction of his movement to point away from himself as well as upward so as to lift him off the ground and send him in the other direction. After which, he would repeat the action he had tried before, despite his opponent's best efforts...
