With a tremendous roar of the engine the truck would plow into the central field from the corn maize. Caesar finally flicked the vehicle's rows of lights on, making an illuminated arc ahead of the vehicle with clearly defined edges in the snowfall.

He also turned on the heater.

The truck would skirt the field at a slow pace, staying away from the wandering robozombies.

Caesar took a breath before speaking, deeply breathing to calm himself. "So, we've got a moment. Who are you people?"

Lah was watching the sky, but he did hear Caesar's words, and a thin grin crossed his face. "Lahren Shadris, and by the looks of this I'm a professional idiot. You?"

He'd take advantage of this time to reload his crossbows, before returning them to their straps. That would be followed by him taking a drink out of his hip flask, only to find the contents frozen.

Oh right. It was <******** cold."

"Gambion."

He said quickly enough to be interrupted by Lahren. That was fine though, he was still looking out the windows for signs of the robo-zombie death that was probably following them at a slower pace.

"We're here to find out what happened to the people, and see if we can fix things." Though that second part was probably just his personal agenda.

"Of course, zombie apocalypse shot that plan to hell. Right now I think the best course of action is to not get dead."

Hopefully Mozz’s allies would spot the giant Cocoon floating in the giant puddle. Maybe they’d think it was a giant cigar? Or perhaps a clue to where one of their missing allies may have washed up. Perhaps they’d detect the distress beacon emanating from inside of it.

One could only hope.

"Caesar Coriando; much the same."

He fished a logbook from one of the duster's pockets, marked clearly as from 'Happy Resting.' He held it for a moment in clear view before returning it to the pocket.

"And I'm trying to figure out what's going on here and live through the experience. Equalmente again." He didn't state, 'and get filthy rich.'

"So, mi amigos, where to next? Bailing now won't earn us any answers."

The earth jerked suddenly, and one things went still again, everything was slightly tilted towards the Palace Dome.

Amongst the corn stalks that had not been run over by any craft that had passed through this field, the captain plodded along. He could see the truck little farther ahead of him and around it were three travelers who he assumed had just come from within. That or they were going to enter, no other reason to stand around in this cold.

The captain would draw closer and closer, before exiting the stalk just a few yards away from them. Once out in the open he would not try to conceal his presence but rather to make it known. Instead of stepping lightly through the snow as he had while amongst the corn, the captain would slam his boot down hard causing the snow beneath to make a clear crunching sound.

"Ahoy mates!,"
he would say just before the earth shifted beneath his feet.

Jacknife swung his shotgun to point at the noise. He stared down the middle of both barrels at some guy standing near the truck.

"You aren't a robot zombie." He said.

"Get in the back."

Screw suspicions. This guy didn't look like one of those black ops people who were trying to kill them, and right now sticking together was the way to survive. There was way too much s**t trying to kill everyone.

"You can explain yourself there."

He turned to the guy in the driver's seat.

"I don't know but I want to get somewhere were the ground isn't tilting."

Lah would have his own crossbows unstrapped and aimed at the Captain the second he took his first step, and the guy was probably lucky he didn't have to dodge a couple bolts.

It was a man. Jacknife handled exactly what he would've done, so Lah had nothing to add.

Caesar shrugged at the new arrival. He wasn't in the mood to argue either. And then he stared at Jackknife, eye to eye.

"...Ok."

They weren't leaving, and the ground would only be level one place now. Caesar waited for 'the captain' to load before speaking over his shoulder, "What's your name, stranger?"

The captain had questions but he was also on edge because of all kind confused with all the freaky s**t going on. So he just hopped on when he was told to hop on, earthquakes were never a good thing.

Once inside the body of the cab. He gave a quick introduction interrogation.

"Name is Taro. Just touched down here not too long ago and I want some damn answers. For one, what the hell are these metal humaniods I've been seeing around these parts?"
PostPosted: Sun Jun 08, 2008 3:03 pm

"No damn clue. We're not the ones to ask for answers, even if we're supposed to be.

Lahren leaned back a bit more, trying to stretch his back a bit from his current position. "So, where to?"

He revved the engine loudly and turned the car with a sudden jerk once everyone was aboard; quite possibly cutting Taro off. The vehicle rotated 180 degrees in a footprint barely larger than its wheelbase, spraying mud, snow, and bits of charred corn around it. It had been taking a slow rotation around the field-- now it was moving decidedly east. And downhill.

The 4x4 spun and begun moving at a rapid pace, tearing up the charred remains of corn covered with snow under its wheels as it hopped paths; darting through a barrier of intact stocks in taking a short cut from one road to another. Caesar had obviously been here before.

The truck had just begun to pick up some real speed when he shoved heavily onto its brakes and turned the vehicle hard to the side, stopping at the side of the road. His headlights were illuminating a lightly pulsing green blob of plant matter, which was rolling ever-so-slowly down the rode/slope. It was obviously not corn. Caesar wouldn't speak for a moment.

"...Aliens? We've got aliens now? Es loco!"

It was not that hard for Taro able to stay upright as the truck began to move, he weighed quite a bit thanks to his false legs and that gave him the inertia he needed to maintain a seat position. The abrupt stop did jolt him a little and he quickly arose to see what the hell they were stopping for. He’d just got here, but he could already tell they were in a hurry to be not here. Something important must have come up for a quick stop like that.

Walking around the driver’s side he found something like quickly brightened his mood. There was a very large match of marijuana out front, all cut down and read to be rolled. It was surely a good find and he was going to be the first to enjoy it. He gave the driver’s door a pat of approval as he went over for a closer took.

“Good job my man, that a good match of weed you found. I’m beginning to like you already.”

Stopping down, Taro bent with his knees allowing his powerful legs to raise the weed into the air for his arms to carry back to the rear of jeep. He bounded back in with one leap, landing with the knocked out Mozz in his arms. He dropped his load down and then patted down his pockets as if searching.
'Damn,' he thought to himself. 'I’ve left my rolling paper and lighter back on the ship.'

“Anybody got a lite and some paper? I’d like to try some of this s**t.”

If it hadn’t been for the cold, the sticky Green lichen might’ve investigated whatever creature had just picked it up. Mother didn’t like being trifled with, but it also didn’t like it here, it couldn’t keep Mozz warm forever and wherever they were headed was probably better then here. However the man would most likely of felt the body several layers under as he carried the 200lb sack of green into the back of the truck.

As it landed with a thud, the outer layers of the mold began to thaw. In a few moments the individual fibers would be wriggling like mad. This place was nice. Mother approves.

edit: The medic Bot seemed to recognize the green pile of goop and began doing some pulmonary scanning. The medi-bot sliced through the several layers of mold, eventually revealing a mold shaped body in the center. More scanning would begin to ping on all of Mozz’s injuries, broken legs, broken kneecaps, several bullet wounds. It could help a little, but this in all would require long term care.
