"I won't say anything to him if you wish me not to." Dancer said quietly again as she let blue eyes drift shut in the cool shaded place they lay. Her head nudged his just a bit to be a pest and then she was still again. Two chiefs she thought. One for the muscle and one for the heart but both for the brain. Indeed one needed many things to become a good leader. Then there was the fin thing. Fins were like hair or eye color she supposed. A trate given to the child from the parent. It was all so interesting and yet she tried very hard not to ask to many questions at the moment.

"Good. Let them get their own ideas."
And, because he wanted to little doze a little, and the elftess seemed to want it, he uncurled his arms. He had to shift to properly get space to leverage Dancer onto his closest arm. Moving quickly to pull her on to his chest to rest (as lovemates did, more intimate then when Adir did) so he could once more get comfortable.
That she might notice his continued sickness didn't occur to him in the comfort she brought.
"So.. what else would you know? Because a very quiet you is very strange." It was a good natured teasing.

What could poor Dancer say but ::Giggle:: and bite her lip. Her face the lovely red color that seemed his favorite because he knew just what to do to make her turn it. His heart pounded in her ear as it rested against his chest. She heard every breath he took. It seemed like time had stopped and her brain felt underwater. Did he say something? she wondered. Yes he did, he asked her a question. Why was she quiet? The mind struggled for an answer and all she got out was. "What's a seal?" Oh she cursed in her head for saying that again. Feeling stupid it would take her a few moments to adjust. Still lying on his chest was not unpleasant and not un welcomed. Along with feeling suddenly like a silly child she felt safe and content. It seemed like a long moment before she spoke again. "How long can you stay out of the water? Must it be the salty waters of the vast deep? Dancer stopped herself not wanting to blabber on.

"I can be out of the water for hands and hands and hands of days," he admitted. "If it's hot and sunny I get dry skin. Sunburned? But we tend to live in the salty waters since the humans migrate along the clear waters."
A smile as his tired mind (basking, relaxing, fevered) tried to figure out how to describe a seal.

Dancer could tell he was tired and still not feeling quite himself yet. Tired was the last thing she was but she faked a little yawn patting her mouth lightly then setting her hand on his stomach. His heart beat and the rhythm of his breathing was all she needed to hear from him if he needed to rest more. *You can rest more if you like. The sun is warm and Fire Bright will alert us if anything is amiss.* Her send was gentle and caring. She only wanted him to be happy and healthy and if this didn't go away for good she would be a mess with worry.

Dancer let him drift off into dreams. To swim she hoped with his family and friends again. Maybe he even dreamed that Dancer had a tail and he could show her all of the vast deep. The thought made her chuckle softly. Blue eyes slipped shut as well and even though she wasn't tired she soon found herself drifting into the floating vastness of sleep. His heart the beat of a jungle drum and his breathing the sound of the wind through the plains. It was a lovey dream.

Adin Crosscurrent dreamed. He'd taken care of himself, as much as he could be himself. Still, it was a stubborn fever that made him recall the days he'd been burned by the daystar while he spied upon the humans.
Time flew as he and she napped on the sands. Unlike his brother he was used to sleeping without moving around. And centuries of lovemates had taught him to refine that to not tossing his partner off.

Dancer dreamed peacefully away in his arms hold. Long black hair lay over his arm as she stirred only a bit. Her body snuggled close to him as eyes opened just slightly in the bright sun. She wondered what time it was and lifted her head to look at Crosscurrent. A sleepy smile touched her lips and she nuzzled his neck lightly to see if he might wake. She didn't want to wake him but she also didn't want him to burn or sleep longer then was healthy.

A sigh that sounded like, "stop that," emerged although the Wavedancer didn't more then shift a few muscles in his arms and torso. More felt then heard as something tickled his throat. Not that he wanted to talk. Those two words brought an awareness of wanting a drink.
A disgruntled feeling when he ddin't want to move at all. But he wasn't like his lazy brother..
The arm closest to his partner reluctantly tugged them off to give him room. Gathering his will to curl upright without opening his eyes yet. Just feeling muscles, sunlight, and knowing it was time to work again. Far hand ruffling his bangs to convince himself he was awake.
A reflexive thought was that Kynl Waterknot was beside him. And prepared for the hand that woulbe be fisted aground his hair. A mild pleasure that she must have grabbed the end rather then around his head.

Dancer sat up and stretched. Shaking out her hair bit she looked at Crosscurrent. His eyes still closed and the rubbing of his head seemed clear he still wasn't feeling his best yet. "I wish we had a healer in the group." She sighed softly, almost to herself. A slender hand lifted and pulled his hair back lightly from his shoulder so that she might see him better. "Can I get you something?" Dancers soft smile didn't hide well the touch of worry that was in her blue eyes. As lovely as her trip under the water was she would give it all back if she could to see him well again.

Surprise, then recalling his current companion. Crosscurrent looked at her. Then a smile that often got him spoiled as he asked with a slightly hopeful question.
"A hairbrush? I just know it's full of knots by now," he admitted. Since Dancer had long hair too she should be able to understand. Besides, he loved it when others played with his hair. It was why he let it grow all the way to his calves: to get others to help.

After a light chuckle and a shake of her head Dancer spoke. "I don't think any of us has that. I can run my fingers through it if you like and do what I am able with it. Till something is made though I guess we are all out of luck." After pause she asked, "Are you hungry? I could eat something but if you aren't" She shrugged "I know I could wait." She picked up the little basket she brought and peered into it. Seems Crosscurrent cleaned it out. It made her chuckle softly again and set it back in the sand. "Shame I couldn't teach Fire Bright to fetch more of those berries for us huh?"

"True," he agreed with a regretful sigh and look at the big cat.
"If you bring food I'll bring something to brush with." Not that he was skilled in crafting. But if the round-ears could do it so could he. Fish bones were easy enough. Carving them would be a bother. However, he wasn't willing to go back to the small cave at the waterfalls to fetch the one he'd already made. It was too far away to fetch 'just because', so he didn't ask Dancer to.

That smile of his made hers brighter. His joy made her happy and a dressier to eat was always a good sign. "Deal" Said sweetly with a wink. Dancer stood and called for Fire Bright who was leaping about chasing scavenger birds on the beach. She leaned over and gave Crosscurrent a one armed hug and placed her head against his **I will be back sometime tonight if not then when the sun breaks over the waters tomorrow morning. Stay safe till then and feel better.** The send was dripping with fondness and concern and might have drown Crosscurrent if he had to swim through it. Then she turns him lose and moves to Fire Bright's side. "I will send to you when I am near the beach again. Keep yourself hungry and I will bring you new thing to try. Well... As far as I know they will be new to you." Chuckling that sounded like bird song, a toss of that midnight hair and she was on the great cat. One last pause to enjoy the site of him sitting there in the sand and she was off. Till all he saw was the tail vanishing in the distance.
