"That makes you the nerd," Sorin replied without missing a beat. He flashed a cheeky grin at his twin.
Korai frowned, processing the information for a few moments. "She's female, so she can not be one of ours..." he said slowly, reasoning aloud. "Though it's possible a turned male may have tried to convert her but those vampiresses are usually deranged and kill children..."

She smiled. "You'll love this little twist even more. My father wasn't a carpathian, but rather a creature they tend too....respect. My father was a dragon. and my mother is fully capable of thinking clearly. I'm alive still and so are two of my sisters, only because my father came for us. I went to one herd, one sister stayed with dad and the other was given to another herd. I've drifted into the nightmare valley, in hopes of seeing my brother again but nothing yet...."
Irvine stuck his tongue out. "better smart then stupid. at least I'll be able to outwit a vampire..."
"Korai would best you in that, Irvine." Arron pointed out.

"Yeah but then what's Korai gonna do?" Sorin asked laughing. "Splash some water on it? I'm melting! I'm melting!" he cried flailing his arms. "Oh what a world..."
"That's why you were in the forest," Korai suddenly understood. "But you're free of her, aren't you? And if she stays in the area it's only a matter of time before the hunters - well, find her..."

Arron arched a brow. "I will laugh if he shows you up in battle. Our gifts are meaningless if we can't use them properly..."

"Oh please, I got news for you little brother, when they were passing out 'gifts,' Korai was at the back of the line. That's why the three of us have all of Dad's awesomeness and he spends his time playing in the kiddie pool. All you have to do to beat him is take away the water..."

Irvine frowned. "Then I'll laugh if he finds his mate first before the three of us..."
Arron shook his head even more. "We all have our strengths and weaknesses. I'm closer to Korai's abilities then I am yours and even I bare more of gifts...But that's not the point."

"Oh mate - smate - come on, Irv, have you looked around?" Sorin gestured to the valley. "There's a whole lot of single ladies out there, a couple of good looking guys - or you know, one good looking guy and a couple of average guys - won't have any problems finding a girl."
Korai frowned again, "And she's here? That's impossible. If she were evil the elders would have dealt with her by now..."

"She like mother, likes to hide until she wants to play....though I think another's been keeping her attentions." She shrugged. "As far as I know, my sister Zarina's just greedy for power and that's about it."
"But there is only One girl for us, Sorin." Irvine murmured. That he took to heart. Yea he could be a bumbling idiot and romp around creating trouble, but he did take lessons on life to heart.

"And you don't take things seriously. Your lifemate should be taken seriously. You are a carpathian male, Sorin. With these gifts comes a price for us that may not affect Korai the same as us..." He pointed out. Yea he knew how to goof off but even he knew seriousness was in order.
"I'm more worried about my brother then my sister..." Last she remembered him, they were both small and she and Scarlett would play with him together whenever mother permitted it. So what was he up to now? Did he grow like her and her sisters? Or was he a late bloomer like some of the other male dragons?
