Quehal I always keep their original names. And have you guys EVER noticed that in the past few FF games there has always been somebody that has a name related to the weather? For example: VII - Cloud VIII - Squall IX - (didn't play sweatdrop ) X - Tidus (like tidal as in tidal wave...?) Anybody else see that? Probably not.... sweatdrop Actually, i tihnk in a Japanese dialect, Tidus means sun. And in IX, the main character's name is Zidane.

I usually keep the default names the first time I play and then I have some fun with names my second time through
My favorites for each character are:
Cloud- Mr. Dude
Barret- Lenny
Tifa- I'm a man
Aeris- Zealot!
Red XIII- Meowzerz
Cait Sith- Bat Fitch
Yuffie- Pig Benis
Vincent- Sex Fiend

I used to name my characters after family members but then took it personal after they died or got captured, lol. blaugh

I always named Cloud after me, since we share almost everything `cept the hair (which used to be as blonde as his XD). I named them different each time, usually naming Aeris after my crush (oh fleeting youth) and Cait Sith after my cat. I usually keep Aeris, Cid, Vincent, and Tifa's name the same for personal reasons. I still change Cloud's name to whatever my nickname is (currently Raver) and I name Barrett something black-sounding and Yuffie something Asian-sounding.

my first time playing it, i called cloud raptor or something stupid like that, i called barret mr. T (heh) and tifa, i called her padme cause at the time i had just seen star wars episode one....then, i realized the names were dumb, restarted the game, and left in the default names.

Aeries- Abagail
Barrett- Armand
Cait Sith- Mr. Bliss ( a character in a children's book by JRR Tolkien)
Vincent- Armand
Cid- Wellington
Red XIII- Sigmund

Tifa: dead
Aeris:Bodies
Red:in
Yuffie: his
vincent: closet
Cid and cait sith aren't on there becuase i already completed the sentence.
I did this after the 2nd time I beat ff7
