Akemi swung her keyblade at the last heartless, halfheartedly. She then sighed and turned to face the newcomer.

"We're just getting new people everywhere, aren't we?" she said in a discouraged monotone. "Well, it doesn't seem to help, does it? My brother's gone, and I have no idea how to go after him, and make sure he's okay... He's after Akio, all alone, without me..."

In a sudden burst of anger she threw her keyblade on the sand, and turned her face back to the new person, unmoving, her expression angry and confused and worried.

"You're on Destiny Islands. We've just been attacked by our worst enemy. And now two of our group have gone after him, after the coward retreated. I have no idea where they've gone, I was too stupid and slow to go after them. One of them is Katsu, my brother, the true keyblade master, son of Sora. I don't know how much you know, but if you know how to travel between worlds...or anything that might help us..."

She trailed off and sat on the beach, frustrated.

Akemi tried her best not to snap at the boy. She tried to understand the confusion he must feel. After all, this sort of thing seemed to happen a lot, all because of these heartless...

So she took a deep breath, counted to three, and said, "My name's Akemi. This guy here is Ski."

She stood back up, realizing she must be making a fool of herself. After another second, Akemi was back in leader mode.

"So you're Kyle. Welcome to Destiny Islands. I see you have a keyblade. Very nice. It seems everyone's getting them now. Well, if you have a keyblade, that must mean you're supposed to come with us, or something similar. Sound good to you?"

She waited, inside thinking, Oy, how many people are we going to end up with? Quality over quantity, so this kid better at least be decent. She was still pretty irritable, as she had no idea how she was going to get to her brother.

Akemi's anger and frustration dissipated when Kyle suddenly dropped in front of her.

When he seemed to have come back to himself, she bent down, leaning on her heels, concerned. "Um...hey, you okay?" she asked, feeling awkward.

"Okay..." Akemi wondered whether she should push for a direct answer to her question. She decided to drop it and act like it didn't happen.

"Ahem...anyway, don't worry about it, kid, we get people like you all the time. Much appreciate the help, though. What would be of more help would be a way to get to Akio and Katsu, however..."

She turned away from all distractions and stared off into the horizon.

After a bit of thinking, Akemi soon found herself lost in the beauty of the day. Slightly warm, slightly breezy, and oh so comfy... She closed her eyes, reveling in the wind that wrapped around her with its warmth.

No, no. Must stay on topic. How--wasn't there like...a gummi ship somewhere or something....?

"Holy--" Akemi stuttered as she was suddenly lifted off her feet by the newcomer. Too lost in her thoughts to have had any notion of near-flattening, she only now looked behind them to see the huge monster.

"Here, now--put me down--" she sputtered out, very flustered. "I can run--or fight--"

"Well, Mr. Intuitive," Akemi said, straightening her clothes that had gotten so wrinkled, "what say you about this creature? Too tough to fight or no? Because if we can I say we go for it. And I do hope you don't need your memory to judge these things. Very important quality to have."

She was secretly pleased at being called important. That was something she hadn't really felt since Katsu had been named the true keyblade master.

While she waited for his answer, she scanned both the apporaching beast and for the location of Ski.

Akemi nodded happily. "Good answer." Without a further thought she jumped at the creature.

So it's not as big as say, Dad's Darkside, she thought excitedly. It's still a nice change from Shadows and Soldiers.

She launched into a flurry of attacks and combos learned from her father. Then she jumped back to prepare another assault. She heard growling.

"Ha! You're like a little poodle," she told the Thorn. Then she attacked it again, breathing heavily with adrenaline.

The beast was ready for her this time, though. It swung at her and packed a little harder punch than Akemi was expected. She landed on her bum a little ways away and glared at the thing.
