Nova awoke, blinking as the sun hit her face. It seemed to be about noon. She sighed, picking up her book from where it had slipped out of her fingers and onto the grass. She flipped through the pages, finding her place and continueng to read from where she left off.

A maid bussled around in Lord Edwards chamber caring for Demetria. She had spiked a fever, which was unfortunately usual for the child. However, this was a bit higher than normal. The woman dabbed a cool cloth on her head, hoping it would help. Even though she knew she would be better when she woke she tried to make Demetria's recovery as smooth as possible.

Something strange is going on here. Maybe I should leave, but if I do that I'll never know who had the cow. I guess I could stay a bit longer. Leon thought while following behind Marie. While walking he just couldn't shake the feeling of being watched. Pulling out the cross, he twirled it around his finger and dismissed the feeling. Finally, getting to the room where the bloody cow was Leon turned his head. "I guess you were... telling the truth. About the cow at least."

Lila had obviously followed them and watched Leon closely, but when he took out a cross and started twirling it she paused and bit back a hiss. 'Edward, he's got a cross.' Lila thought disdainfully to her master. Edward at that time was just passing a inn and smelled something that made all of his senses tingle. 'The only thing I have to worry about is if he has faith, and I smell blood. Lots of blood.' Edward thought, fighting down his instinctive urge to follow the blood and rip apart whatever was the source. Ok, Edward only fought down the urge, not his curiosity.

Hissing? I don't think snakes are native to these parts. The residence must have a pet snake. Leon thought again after hear a snake. Looking down at the cow he sees bite marks. "What the... These aren't ordinary bite marks, not from another animal." Just then Leon realized a vampire was the culprit. "So, that's the reason, of how the cow was brought here. You, young woman why didn't you tell me? I'm perfectly capable of taking down a simple vampire. Why are you staying with a vampire anyway? "

(( Of course then you have the confusion of why a cow and not just one of the humans, there are plenty of them. ))
'Oh s**t, Edward this really is a hunter!' Lila thought quickly to him. Meanwhile Edward was looking for where all the blood he was smelling was coming from. All that was happening was a bit stressing, but nothing Edward couldn't handle, he had had to deal with hunters before. 'I give you permission to bite him then, but only if things get out of hand. Only then.' Edward told her, finally finding the one inn all the smell was coming from. If he didn't get all that blood cleaned up, or at least the smell covered up, then there would be a swarm of vampires. Yes, he may have forbidden any and all vampires from feeding in the city if they didn't have a Pomme, but they could still be curious just like him.

Rose smelled something odd. She took a whiff, and almost gagged as a result.
“Death,” she thought, scanning her eyes for the source. Through the open door she could see another room, and in that room was a trail of blood. She gasped, but covered her mouth quickly.
“What have I gotten myself into? This was stupid. Someone is dead, and I have no way of getting out of here.”
Suddenly, the muffled voices of a man and a girl touched her ears. They grew closer gradually, and after a moment she saw feet scuttle past the door. They had stopped, and the man was speaking. She could hear them clearly now, so they must have been just outside of the door.
“I guess you were... telling the truth. About the cow at least,” He said gruffly. "What the... These aren't ordinary bite marks, not from another animal. So, that's the reason, of how the cow was brought here. You, young woman why didn't you tell me? I'm perfectly capable of taking down a simple vampire. Why are you staying with a vampire anyway?"
Through that door was her only escape, but she had no chance of getting through it. With a deep breath, she acted without really thinking through what she was doing. She crawled out from under the table, walking into the other room to show herself.
“Some people don’t mind working for vampires,” Rose said as an answer to the man’s question. The cross in his hands told her that he was a hunter, an unwelcome visitor in a place like this. “Me and my friend needed a job and a place to stay. Lord Edward is very kind to us.” She wasn’t sure of how the vampire world worked, but she knew her answer was plausible. She put her hand on the girl’s shoulder, giving her a look that said ‘Just play along.’
But now she was out of ideas. A cow?
“Now, what’s such a big deal about a cow? I thought your job was to protect humans. Or are things not going well for hunters these days?” Her remark was sarcastic, but she smiled through it all, and her hand never left the girl’s shoulder.
As soon as this guy was gone, she was going to get out of here.

This time Lila couldn't help it and let her hiss out full, uh, full hiss. Edward, feeling Lila's anger and rage, was quite confused by it all. So he paused in his pursuit of the blood and focused on what was happening in the castle. 'Lila? What happened?' He asked quickly, Marie wasn't hurt, he knew that for a fact, so what could be making Lila feel the way she did? 'If I could speak I would cuss this brat out with such ferocity that she'd-she'd-she'd just UG!' Lila couldn't even think clearly now, Rose had pissed her off.
'Lila, who are you talking about?! Tell me, what's happening?' Edward had all but abandoned his search for the blood now and was all but running back to the castle, hell be damned if there was a hunter there. Lila forced herself to calm down, hiding in the shadows more now in fear of being found by the hunter. 'A girl, she just showed up out of nowhere and just all but reviled that you're a vampire to the hunter! Don't you dare come back now.' Lila warned, sneaking into a conveniently placed mouse hole just big enough for her to get through.
