Perrian walked over to Djanni and examined the cylinder. "Interesting. I wonder what these markings mean." He rubbed his fingers along one side of the cylinder, feeling the markings with his fingers to see if he could maybe find out what they meant better by feeling them.

*Djanni points along the edge of the cylinder, gesturing as she speaks*
"I believe they may be grooves of some kind, as though the item were to be placed somewhere, like a puzzle piece or power source of some kind."

(Sorry for missing a post, I had guard duty and a mandatory study hall)
Other then the items listed you find nothing else of interest in the room.
The symbols on the cylinder do not really seem to match. While they are most definitely from the same language they are none of the symbols are the same.
Pressing the button on this door yields no results. The button is not red and nothing happens from pressing it.

Perrian sighs. "Seems like we need a new idea to think of a new idea to open this door." He examines the vials closely. "Could these vials possibly be used in some odd way to open this door, I wonder."

*Djanni frowns.*
"Why don't we go back and check out that other keypad? We may find some additional clues."

Veet, who has always favored the most direct route to approaching a problem, made the suggestion. “Perrain, why don’t you try melting or softening the door with a fireball and then Tobar can beat on it with his sword. There’s no rule that says we can’t try a little brute force to get past this.”

You can go try the other key pad or try to beat the door into submission. I’ve always been one to let the players do what they want.

*Djanni looks askance at Veet, and shakes her head* "We'll do both. You and Perrian and Tobar deal with the door; you'll need each other if you run into any unexpected surprises. I'll go outside and press the button; it's unlikely that I'll run into any trouble as it seemed pretty empty out there. This way, we can work both ends."
*Djanni turns and begins to head out the door*

“Wait” Veet says as she comes out after Djanni. “None of us should be alone. No matter how harmless the situation might seem. There wasn’t a corpse in there for no reason. You don’t know what might pop out of that door once you open it. Besides they don’t really need me in there. Tobar’s enough of a tank to stop whatever might come out that door. Together we should be able to stop whatever might come out of your door if there is indeed anything.”

Perrian nodded. "Agreed, Veet. Djanni, you and Veet go out to the other keypad and explore there, Tobar and I will explore in here. If we find anything you'll see a fireball or a singe shot into the sky, if you find something come get us, unless you can shoot something into the sky, too. Well, good luck Djanni and Veet."

(( For the purpose of speeding this up.))
Veet walks around with Djanni to the place she had visited before with Perrian. Upon seeing the same glowing light on the keypad she presses it as she did before. Veet stands in front of Djanni, mentally preparing herself for a number of possible scenarios. She waits, for the door to open growing more anxious with each passing moment.

*Djanni smiles at Veet* "Relax. You and I can handle anything that comes through that door, I am sure of it. Seek your inner calm and you can defeat any enemy."
*Djanni has to laugh at herself. Here she is, the berserker, preaching calmness. Though in truth, if she did not say it aloud, it would be twice as hard for her practice it herself.*

The door opens with the same hiss that the first one did as it opens into a passage way. The passageway itself is much like the last one. At the end you find a room that has a large wall in the center of it creating a sort of island in the middle room. In this center wall you find several glass doors inside of which are some odd cylinders (the same as you have). None of them have any glow to them. Some of the glass doors are broken and there are also a couple of the cylinders on the ground shattered. It looks like about five cylinders could be placed on each side of the wall for a total of 10.

*Djanni eyes the slots along the wall*
"Let's try this, Veet."
*carefully, she inserts the cylinder into one of the places along the wall*

Veet looks at the wall and nods at Djanni. It was clear they were thinking along the same lines. These items were power sources and it seemed they had just found the generator. However, Veet counted the slots and was bit dismayed. “Looks like we are short about 6 of them, I wonder if 4 will be enough to give us partial power.”
