The door opened and Giovanni stepped through. "Ah, Kilik. Good work." The Leader went over to the President.
"Thank you, sir," He stood up, the pen dropping to the floor, and saluted. Giovanni smiled and approached the young Rocket.
"A simple task, none the less." He pulled something from his pocket. Kilik watched his movements, "Now. This man has something I want."
"And what would that be?" Kilik asked, quickly adding in 'sir' before getting scolded.
"Silph is creating an experimental item known as the 'Master Ball' and I want it," the tall man handed Kilik the item he pulled from his pockets. Kilik gasped, along with Flareon. Koffing loked at it intently.
"What do you want me to do with this?" he asked, lifting up the gun Giovanni handed him.
"Persuade him to give me the Master Ball..." the head Rocket threw a dark look over to the President, "Or resort to having to use force..." Kilik gulped. His mind raced with thoughts. The gun in his hand seemed to get heavier and heavier. Slowly, the boy approached the President.
"Give me...the Master Ball..." he gulped once more. The President shook with fear. Kilik tightened his grip on the gun, "Give me the Master Ball!" he barked, feeling a rush of adrenaline.

The two trainers burst through the doors of the Pokemon Center, still laughing their heads off. They had been reenacting the scene since it happened, and it only got funnier every time they did it. As they approached the desk, their faces both became silent as they handed over seven Pokeballs between them, then silently walked over to an empty couch and burst out laughing again. Several other trainers looked at them funny, but they only returned the funny looks and laughed harder.

Nina showed her train ticket, and quickly climbed into the train, taking a seat. She muttered, "The day that Mihoshi evolves I'm never taking a train again..."
"Nina, tell me what you saw!" Anna said to her as the train took off down the tracks. Nina shook her head a little bit. "It didn't make any sense," she replied. "I saw a bunch of images in my head-- Sabrina, Saffron City, the Silph building, and this man whose face was darkened. I couldn't identify him." She let out a quick sigh. "And... I saw Kilik's face too... I really didn't understand that." Anna tilted her head. "Well, you also saw that man, and that doesn't make sense either..."
Nina stared out the window, holding Mihoshi close to her, and she could feel herself shaking again. I just hope Sabrina's alright... she thought.

Kilik's finger shook on the trigger. Flareon barked at the President, while Koffing began to laugh and spin in a circle. The President didn't move. "Come on, old man! Give me the ball!" Kilik roared, pushing the gun closer to the President.
"Don't hesitate to pull that trigger, Kilik," Giovanni whispered. The boy's teeth clenched and he shut his eyes tightly. Slowly, the President stood up and walked over to a safe in the back. Kilik opened his eyes and pointed the gun to the man.
"Don't shoot! I'm getting it..." the man turned the dial. The safe clicked and opened. Inside sat a single ball. White on the bottom, purple on the top and with pink circles on the top of it. The man handed it to Giovanni. "Here, now...don't kill me, please!" he begged, falling to his knees and pulling on the Rocket's pant leg. Giovanni was too busy looking at the Pokeball with a smile on his face.
"I'm leaving now, Kilik. Feel free to do what you wish..." And with that, Giovanni left with the other two Rocket goons he brought with him. Flareon growled at the President, who was now on the floor crying.
"Koffing..." Kilik said quietly, his eyes covering his face darkly, "Smog attack..." The Pokemon released a fog of black smoke. A gun shot echoed through out the room. Swiftly, Kilik ran out of the room, slipping the gun into his pocket. Flareon and Koffing followed him closely. "Wait up, Giovanni!" Kilik said, running into the elevator with the leader.

After what felt like hours, the train finally stopped, and Nina exited, finding herself back in the ghostly Lavender Town. She let out a nervous breath as she pet Mihoshi on her head.
"We're going to have to go through the sewer again to get to Saffron," Anna said. Nina shook her head. "No. Not this time. We're going through its east gate." Anna gave her a strange look and then said, "All right... it's your choice."
Nina sprinted off in the western direction. Her feet didn't even seem to touch the ground.

Their Pokemon fully healed, the two stepped outside into the dusky atmosphere, the sun setting behind a cloudy horizion.
"Beautiful," Kasiya sighed, looking at it dreamily. Her hand was clenched tightly around the Moon Stone in her pocket.
Not as beautiful as someone I know, Jaeshan thought, watching Kasiya. The sun''s rays seemed to highlight her in all the right spots, and he felt his knees growing weak. "How about dinner?" he asked suddenly, before he could stop himself.
"What?" Kasiya asked, coming out of her dreamy trance.
"Uh, well, I''m hungry, and I''m sure you are too, so I''m offering to take us all for dinner. My treat," he added.
"You mean to a restaurant? Not Pokemon Center cooking?" her eyes showed no real emotion.
"Um, yeah?" Jaeshan swallowed the lump in his throat, unsure of what to say next.
"Great! I''m sick of eating that stuff," she said happily. "Let''s go find somewhere to eat, then I''ll call Mike!"
"Great," Jaeshan said, his voice feigning excitement. Then I''ll call Mike, he mouthed the words behind her. Togther they headed off in search of the ever elusive dinner.

About five minutes later, Nina arrived near the gate, completely out of breath. She hid behind a tree and tried to regain her composure, and she held Mihoshi closer to herself than ever before. Anna was faithfully and almost protectively at her side.
"Okay," Nina whispered, "We're going to approach the gate and attempt to walk through. The guard's going to tell us that we're not allowed into the city, and that's when we'll make our move." Anna nodded. "All right, then."
A few moments later, Nina walked toward Saffron's east gate, but was stopped by a somewhat tall female guard, who was dressed in entirely black, and had a tonfa baton at her side. A security guard's hat covered her eyes and ears. The only parts of the guard's body that weren't covered by clothing were her nose and mouth, and her somewhat long hair.
"Hey, kid," the guard said, in a rather cool and soft tone. "Nobody's allowed into Saffron City. Orders from our boss." Nina began, "But, we really need to get into the city." She getsured to Anna and Mihoshi. "We're worried about someone that's in there."
The guard shook her head and sighed. "I'm sorry, but there's nothing I can do about it. I was given orders and I am to carry them out." Nina's gaze shifted to Anna for a moment. Get ready. Anna nodded.
"But... please?" Nina asked one last time. The guard's response was not at all what Nina was expecting. "All right. You can go into the city, however if you get caught and get into trouble, it's your own fault. And, we never had this conversation."
Although Nina couldn't see her eyes, she was sure that the guard winked at her. "All... all right, then..." Nina replied, rather astonished. "Thank you very much." The guard moved out of the way, and Nina passed through a small checkpoint-like building.
As Nina entered, a small smile appeared on the left corner of the guard's mouth.

Kilik was silent the entire elevator ride down. "Did you do it?" Giovanni asked, not making eye contact. The Master Ball was clenched in his ringed fingers.
"Yes...sir," the boy whispered. Flareon nudged against his owner. Giovanni smiled.
"Good. I knew you'd remain loyal to me, boy." The door opened and they were in the lobby. The four humans and two Pokemon left the elevator. Kilik stared at his shoes as he pulled out the gun and handed it to Giovanni, "Thank you," he said, putting it back in his pocket.
"You're welcome, sir," Kilik looked up, smiling brightly. The head Rocket nodded.
"I will call you if I need you. For now, go on and do as you wish." The man left the building swiftly, along with the two goons. Outside of Silph was Giovanni's limosuine. Kilik saluted as he left.
"Come on, guys," the boy said as he heard the wheels screech off. They exited the building and stood with their backs to the door.
"Flareon, Flare Flare eon."
"Koff! Koffing Koff Fing." Kilik laughed to himself.
"If I only knew what you two were saying..." he whispered.

Nina entered the city, and something did not feel right to her, at all. Looking toward the Silph Co. building, she noticed three figures-- one was a small floating ball, one was a doglike creature, and the other was a boy.
"Kilik!" she cried out, running towards him.

The boy heard his name called. In unison, Kilik, Flareon, and Koffing looked over to where it had come from. Nina was running toward him. "Nina?" he said, shifting his position.
"Flareon!!" it barked happily.
"Koffing?" it was very confused. The ball had never known Nina.

They found an inexpensive looking little restaurant and sat down, both suddenly aware that they were still in their swimwear. That prompted another bought of laughter until a waiter came along and silenced them to take their orders. After their food was on the way, they took turns changing into regular clothes, then just sat and talked about their hometowns.
"Littleroot was really boring," Jaeshan said, stirring his root beer with a straw. "Nothing ever happened. It was so quiet and peaceful. Until I met Poochyena. That was the day I knew I wanted to be a trainer. I spoke with Professor Birch, he gave me a Pokedex and a few Pokeballs, and out I went."
"What brought you to Kanto?" she asked, putting her elbows on the table and her head in her hands, listening intently.
"I'm not sure," he said, loving the shade of her eyes. "I was looking at a map one day, and I saw the Kanto region. I got a train ticket from my dad, and headed to Viridian City. A fresh, new start in fresh, new region."
"That's so neat," she said, sipping on her milkshake. "I never thought of going to the other regions. At least, not until I'd won all the badges here in Kanto." She was quiet for a minute, but looked up at him and smiled. "What do you suppose happens next?" she asked.
"Well, first, we eat," Jaeshan said as their food arrived. "Then after that, who knows?"

Nina skidded to a halt when she got close to Kilik. "Kilik, I'm very glad to see you!" She gave him a one-armed hug, as the other arm held Mihoshi, and smiled, letting go a few moments later. "I got the most horrid feeling when I was in Hoenn. Something is not right in this city, and I came to investigate."
Anna nodded. "Yes, Nina was very scared because she received a few visions of this place. I've never seen her so worried before."

Kilik hugged her back. Then he gulped, quickly taking the 'R' badge off of his jacket and putting it in his pocket. "Really?" he said calmly, "L...like what?" he blinked. Flareon looked up at his trainer and tilted its head.

"To be honest," she replied, "I'm not sure. I saw flashes of images in my mind-- my sister, this city, Silph, you... and this very tall, strong man... b-but his face in my vision was blacked out and I couldn't identify him."
She let out a sharp breath. "I'm afraid that someone in this city is in danger. My only hope is that I'm not too late to save them." Mihoshi patted Nina's hand.

Beads of sweat began to form on Kilik's forehead. "I'm...sure whoever you're looking for is perfectly fine." He sighed and smiled, calming down slightly, "It's good to see you again, Nina."
