Television Memories by Courtney Richardson
From the car to garage, From garage to house From house to the couch In front of the TV
I sit and ponder The days gone by, Blending one to another, Melding to a blur.
Once was the day When children would Play and romp Outside in the sun.
Now is the day When children sit And stare at colored Screens before them.
Where are the flowers, The trees and the dirt, The scrapes and bumps, Jump-ropes and swings?
Instead, are computers, Xbox and Playstations, Game-boys and Wiis, PSPs and Nintendo DS
The flowers and plain toys Have gone to silver screens Where children may watch, But never may touch.
Gone is the imagination, The mystery and magic, Replaced by the mush Of programmed minds
As I ponder and brood My blank eyes to the screen I take a sip from my emptying cup.
The liquid drains And my thoughts, too Until I forget all But colored lights and nothings.

Just something I wrote a while back. :3 The Ghosts of Auschwitz
The buildings gray and solemn stand upon the fields of blood soaked lands, Where the living once walked and the dead turned to ashy sand.
Eternal blackness colors the sky, where the ash of so many lie. Where before the sun once shone, now only lingering cries of terror groan
Before the war the land was lush, green fields and pure, but now hatred and death is all that lurks, even though the dead are long since passed
Barbed wire holds their souls to this world, where they haunt the buildings, figures uncurled. Grey silhouettes lurking in shadow, dark eyes now blank and hollow. They are the dead, the murdered, laying in graves too shallow a testimony to deeds done and those sure to follow
The air there still reeks of death and Zyklon B The gas used to kill the many who laughed, loved and cried who lived, worked and died whose voices and screams can still be heard. They are the ghosts of Auschwitz.

here's something I put in the arena it's called we are words of... We are words of mystery, We are words of hate, We are words of fate. Behind mask, Behind wall, We are hidden. Never touched, Never helped, We are all alone. Break the wall, Set us free, Let us run. Remove the mask, See our faces, Love us as we are. Touch us, Help us, Do not let us be alone. We are words of mystery, We are words of hate, We are words of fate.

Wrote this for a description for my avitar arena entry. So its based on this avi: Cursed to a dove On her wedding day By a jealous rival Content to make her pay With the flock she flies On sorrow'd wings of white Yet human she becomes When the day turns night For the silver band Reflected part the spell Back upon the caster Now he pays as well.

Crystal Tear
A lone crystal tear creeps away room my eye And watches you leave while watching me die. Silently it rolls down Over skin you used to touch And burns it away You used to love me so much. A shadow slinks over Like a dark black sea The closer you get towards the light The more your shadow covers me.
The tear hits the ground and shatters like glass You turn around to see me. . .Only to look past

Wrote this sad poem while ago for LA so here:
Shattered
Shattered hearts, shattered glass, One of them always seems to last, Glass is fixed, good as new, My shattered heart, found peices so few.
My wings are shattered, my heart is broken Falling fast, barely awoken With an impact, I hit the ground, And still I never make a sound.
