Raine had finished, finally the bridge was done. The wood placed securley and safely. He felt a sense of pride as Raine stood, holding propped arms on his hips. Raine took a deep breath, What's next! He turned quick on his heels and headed back to the tree. Shaking his dripped head. Jasmine was now sitting with the old man sharing a discussion and practicing her kanji on a crumpled piece of paper with a stick. She smiled when Raine walked back smiling wider than the gap that used to be in the bridge. "Finished!" he said sitting beside them and grabbing the white coat which he used to dry off his body. Still the bandage on his tummy wasn't cooperating and Raine rested a bit while trying to force is back onto his skin. He leaned back and took a nice deep breath. "Seems the little boy is happy." he said indirectly teasing Raine, "I like the rain, it smells good." Raine turned to look at him. "So what now?" the man sighed and looked down, his leathery skin wrinkling into an expression that told Raine he didn't want him to do any more work out in the cold. "I suppose you could clean up all the pots they smashed. But by quick about it, little boy. Your daddy isn't going to be happy if you get a cold." Raine was put off his good mood by the assumption he had a dad, so he stood up and paced slowly through the taller plants, grabbing chunks of clay, that once were molded into pots. As he walked he thought a bit, his smile leaving and in stead a solemn face, soon he had circled the entire garden. And had an arm full of broken pots. Raine dumped them in a metal trash can that had been brought for the clean up. After he had finished Raine didn't really feel like going back and found his own, smaller tree to sit on for a while.

Raine tinkered with his drying shorts, and chanced a glance back up at Jasmine and the man. She kept on looking back at him, and Raine just wanted to be alone for a little while. He grumpily lay on his belly, watching as the rain drops frightened the giant koi in the pond. Raine's eyes lifted to survey the garden. It didn't look as bad as it had before, there was still a small lantern that had been almost shattered though. It seemed that that was the only problem left. He pushed himself from the ground, cold grass cutting through the warmth of his fingers. Rane approached the small thing, next to the pond. Water had filled what was left of it and drowned the candle inside. He picked the lantern up an dumped out all the water to his side. Raine picked all the small pieces of the broken light and walked back to his small tree. As he sat to work on it Raine glanced back up to Jasmine, she was craning her neck to see what he had picked up so Raine stuck out his tongue and turned his back on her. She frowned at his rudeness and went back to her kanji. While Raine examined the broken light, it's small roof like piece had been smashed off and one a wooden support was gone. He stood leaving the lantern behind and grabbed some small wood pieces that had been broken off the planter.

Raine found some suitable chunks of wood, and grabbed some smaller nails from the box. Placing them in his pocket Raine grabbed a small container of glue. while running back to his own little tree, Raine picked up a small rock to use as a hammer that would better with this size of nails. He folded his legs under himself and set the lantern on his lap. Raine started nailing away at the small plank. Using the same care he had when finishing up the bridge, each hit was in had his full attention. So much of his attention in fact, Raine didn't even hear Jasmine run up behind him, holding her arms after running through the rain. She still stood under the pour because Raine had chosen a tree that would only fit a small person under it and she could get far enough under the protection of the branches to keep from being dowsed. "Raine!" she yelped, as he didn't even appear to notice her. "huh?" Raine said finally realizing her and pulling her down to the ground where he was sitting. Raine moves out into the water, "What?" he asked, "Why did you go and get wet?" Jasmine smiled at his manners and scooched so he could sit beside her. "I just came to ask why you left. You seemed angry or sad."

Raine blinked, "Oh cause that guy." he paused.."he keeps treating me like a baby, and saying stuff like "Your dad wouldn't like that, blah blah blah. I don't even have a dad!" he said toying with the lantern in his hands. He looked up at the grey sky, not really knowing what to say. "I don't know he just bothers me." Jasmine looked down at the broken light, "He didn't mean to make you feel bad, just tell him you don't like it when he calls you little boy" she giggled at the name and Raine shot jokingly grim face. He sighed, "I can't just tell him off." Jasmine looked back at the man through the rain, he was belting some song that sounded like it came from a pop diva. Raine and Jasmine were silent, before they both burst out laughing and filled the static white noise of the day, with a warm feeling. After a good laugh. They both stared out into the clouds, Raine broke the silence, "Why did you kiss me?" Jasmine didn't look at him but he glanced to her dark face, "Cause I wanted to make you feel funny and uncomfortable." she smiled and they both laughed again.

Jasmine warmed his bare skin as then sat together, her head towering over his short hair which had started to poke up again. Raine worked quietly putting on the roof. The small nails clumsy in his fingers. He had fixed the broken section and now all the lantern needed was some protection from the rain, that seemed to endlessly pour over them. As if the whole ocean were being sucked up and dropped down to the ground again. The cool, calm air soothed the mood of the village. Each drip, drop sounded like the beating hearts of a thousand butterflies [b]"Finished!" Raine yelped standing up and out into the rain. Jasmine jumped next to him "Jeeze Raine!" she said. But he was already gone, running across the newly rebuilt bridge. To where the man sat. "Oh hello little boy." he smiled he freakish smile once more. "Hey you got a match?" he asked quickly. "Oh, little boy it's not good to play with fire. But I have one yes. Why do you need one little boy?" Raine rolled his eyes. "I need to light this lamp I lantern I just fixed. Please can I have the match." The man shook his head as if he were saying "no" "Fire is way to dangerous for a little boy like you." Jasmine could be heard giggling behind them both. I suppose if you want it lit that badly I could light it for you." Raine handed him the lantern "fine!". Slowly the man pulled out a small box of matches. And with a ridiculously slow movement struck the match. Raine was amazed that the match actually lit with how slow he was moving. It seemed like that man took minutes just to get his hand close to the lantern. Finally it was lit though. And Raine was carefully walking it back to it's place next to the pond. Jasmine was standing now, at the symbolism of setting down that lantern. Raine had finished his mission. He had finally earned his ramen. Raine set it down and allowed himself a hand pump! His belly growled, as he stood watching the small flame flicker in the wind. The small lantern gave off more light than he would have thought, but it had become so dark Raine couldn't even see the clouds from which all this pouring was coming from. "Good for you Raine, but I'm going to get home my mom will kill me if I stay out later." she waved form under the tree. "Bye!" Jasmine ran out the gate holding her hands up to shield her eyes. Raine found himself alone, with only the odd smile of the man. He stepped back and grabbed his shirt. Bowed to the man, "Bye" he said climbing over the fence and flailing at the top before falling to the other side. The old man sighed and stood himself, holding the white lab coat over his head.
Raine smashed into the soft bushes on the other side of the garden and stood with little damage. He looked like a wreck none the less though. He was shirtless, with cuts and bruises on his body from the previous day, and from behind someone would see a small stream of blood washing out of his hair and flowing down his bare back. The cut on his head had reopened a bit, and Raine could feel the sting in his scalp.

Though Xenon had long abandoned his dreams of becoming a doctor, he was still somewhat intrigued by this place. The various medical herbs and their countless uses sparked his inner mad scientist and made him spend a bit to much time searching the area than he needed to, a folly he regretted. The sun had set and it's dim glow was fading, giving way to the pale light of the moon.
Xen berated himself appropriately but didn't spend too much time doing so for fear of losing even more time. The Medical garden, like the rest, turning up no results in his search, he set out for the forest that itself was subject to a few alarming rumors... Kumo Forest...

Toshi slowly opened the front wooden gate. When he gazed upon the dock and the Koi pond. His heart swelled with joy. He had never seen something so beautiful, so peaceful. The sound of the water. The occasional fish jumping out of the water. The wind gently swirled around the garden. Gently pulling and brushing against the flowers and herbs. "I have truly found my solace. A place as beautiful as this...Has no equal." After centering himself he continued to focus on his training. He focused like Kasuke told them. He started feeling a tingly feeling building up inside. "Success!!!"

After his first success he focused himself. "I have to focus. That was just once. Beginners luck. Thats all. Nothing more." He relaxed a bit as the sounds of the nature around him surrounded him in the peaceful noise. Reassured he smiled and sat down on the dock before the water. He watched the waves ripple across the pool of water. He tried to build up his Chakra again, but at last to no avail. His frustration had unnerved him. He recovered his composure to begin again.

He smiled. "If it was as easy as I thought it would be everyone would be ninjas. This just shows that I'm no better then anyone else in the village at this point in time." He watched the fish swimming around under him. His breathing deepened as he tried again. After sitting there like an idiot for a minute he stopped and looked at the water. He slowly took another deep breath. "Another failure. I have to calm down or ill never be able to build up my Chakra."

He watched water ripple as it melded into his mind. His goal was to focus the water and make it still. He closed his eyes and focus in the blackness. "I have to do this. I have to protect this garden. If I can do nothing else i at least want to be able to protect my solace. His breathing deepened as his concentration increases. The rippling water slowly subsided to a pure flat dark blue disc. The electric feeling built up inside him. He smiled and slowly let the water in his mind become rippled once more.

He smiled and looked at the clouds. "The clouds look so far away. I miss their gentle mist as they cross through the village." He stuck his tongue out at the clouds and smiled even more. He slid his head back down toward the water and focused again. The more he focused the more the water began to tremble. "Another failure... I am determined to get this though." He looked back up at the clouds. "Please wind, clouds, air. Come to my aid. Please." He looked back down to the earth as he hoped his prayers were heard.

A bird gently floated down and landed on his shoulder. It had a dark red hood, black beak, white chest, black wings. Yet somehow the eyes reminded him of the birds that used to live in his village. He gently stroked its crest before he sent it on its way. "What a nice reprieve. Don't really see birds that friendly anymore. It's a shame." As his heart lifted he found new courage. He focused again this time the water didn't tremble as it did before but stilled. "Few more times and ill have it down flat." The wind blew against him. The wind cooled him down for the next round of training.

He tried the focus again. He had been sitting on his legs for the past hour or so. As a side effect when he tried to stand his legs buckled under him. He fell flat on his but as a huge shiver went up his spine. "OW OW OWWWWW!!!!! That really hurt!" As he rubbed his lower back he sighed. "It's time to try again" He tried with all his might but couldn't focus right from the pain and failed. He couldn't believe that he had been so careless. "I'm a ninja now. I must realize things. I must pay attention more to all the details. Even in my own body."

He sighed again after the failure. The sun was high in the sky and the wind had caused little relief from the heat. He rolled over to the edge of the dock and dunked his head in the pond. While his head was submerged he blew deeply into the water. He raised his head above the water and breathed deeply laughing. "That was just the cool down I needed" His smile was as bright as the sky as he focused again. This time he had been successful. His Chakra built up and infused with the wind creating little slashes against the water. His attention broke at the moment he heard the sound as did the wind. "At least it was a success this time! One more time and i should be finished...If i focus enough"
