She paused, startled as she held the third to last ball of dough. She was working as he meditated. Her hand slowly lowered it to the sheet. "...I...only really...trust...two people..." She blushed, still not looking at him, hesitant and unsure about telling him even this small aspect about her. "My mother...and Raken. Alternating in raising me." Zana scrapped the last of the dough in the bowl to form a semi-big ball. She ripped it in half and set it on the sheet. "...so...I don't...think so."

"Look I know what it feels like to be alone and afraid of everyone, that's why Moon is even here" "My lonilness brought her to life and ended up making my life even worse, you can;t just make someone you trust, you have to learn to trust others"

"My 'lonliness' isn't going to make my shadow come after me." She spoke firmly putting on the last ball of dough and then quickly slipping the sheet into the oven. She closed the door and walked for the exit, keeping her head down as she passed him. "And you can't force trust." The female spoke quietly in passing, dissapearing into the hallway. She didn't even look at Tartara as she came into view. "Cookies are baking." Zana walked right on past.

He sighe dand shook his head slowly "That wasn't what I meant" He closed his eyes and sat there silently. Thinking about his past and seeing she was heading down the same path he did, something he knew she'd find out for herself one day.

eek "Za...na?" She watched wide eyed as the pink demonic stepped into their room and sighed. Oy vey...what happened now. She continued for the kitchen, knocking on the side of the wall. "Knock knock...am I interrupting?" She felt ill. She hated getting upset but...all at once she felt attacked. She had to get out of that room. The female closed the door behind her and curled up on the bed next to her slumbering sister Erylia, pulling her close. It calmed her...somewhat

He opened his eyes slowly and got up off the chair "No, please come in if you would like. He sighed and deeply and wondered if he should ask Tartara why Zana acted that way. It seemed something happened to her before to loss trust in everyone.

"good, was plannin to come in anyway." Tartara walked in, and opened the oven door to peek inside. "Ssssssooooo.....how are you? Were there any problems making the cookies- okay." She turned with a sigh, deep green eyes on him. "What happened with Zana?"

"Yes everything turned out okay, they should be done soon, she's a good cook" He sighed adn debated whether or to ask "I think she needs some time to herself, but I'm alittle worried" "She's like me and Moon loves to fill emptiness with lies and revenge, I don't want her to end like me..." He looked down and hoped she would trust him someday, expecially with doubt in her mind it would be hard to protect her from Moon.

She blinked slightly, stepping away from the oven. "What...do you mean? She fills her emptiness with lies and revenge?" Tartara spoke slowly, not understanding.

"Have you ever hated someone so much you'd do anything to make them pay...I think she hates me and Moon will use that to her advantage" He looked down "I trust your daughter, but I don't know if she'll follow my path, I don't want her to, I don't anyone to"

"She doesn't hate you." The red head spoke softly, shaking her head. "Zana...Zana...I guess its sort of my fault." Tartara stepped away from the oven to hop up on the counter, picking up the used wisk. "Zana has 4 brothers and 5 sisters. None of them by blood. Ontop of that, she has 2 nephews and 5 neices. One of her nephews has two girls and one boy. She has a big family, not including her siblings mates or their familes. But not one is close to her. She trusts Raken, the oldest sibling, because he took care of her moreso then me while growing up. I typically was busy trying to take care of the others so my time was often split. She trusts me because I'm her adoptive mother, taking her in as my own as a baby. It...must be hard...having so many close to you...physically...but not one of them...even in the slightest...emotionally. She just naturally became shut in, making it her choice that she was alone. And so when someone approches her...she runs. Because they are threatening the thing she relies on." She slowly fingered some dough off of the wisk to eat it, sighing softly. "So its not just that she hates you...she acts this way to everyone. She'll be fine in the morning again just...one has to be careful around her, else she'll run again. It isn't your fault, it isn't her fault...I'm just pretty much a failure of a mom." She smiled sadly at this, looking up at shadow

"I understand, I never knew she had so many people around her, but none close to her" He looked down feeling bad for jumping to a conclusion so fast "I had no one, no family, no home, no friends" He started to shiver just remembering the coldness in that feeling "I just wanted to be near someone that could never leave me and when I got my powers I saw that chance" "I used my powers to make my shadow real and someone that would never leave, it was perfect...until the shadow world and some other things" "When I learned to use my shadows to morph things so did she and she copied an elder's shadow" "When in the shadow world she became a real person and ceased being my shadow, taking on the mimicry form of the elder she copied..." He walked over to her and sighed "Don't blame yourself too much, I think there's only so much someone can do and you've done alot more then that"

She sighed again, reaching out to lightly brush some of his soft hair out of his eyes. "But it is my fault. Three days every other week I'm...inactive. thats roughly an entire week a month that I'm not around at all. Its no small wonder why only a few of my eldest visit anymore." Her hand fell back onto her lap as she slowly smiled. "She'll be fine though. I think she just really needs a friend, someone that wants to be around her in contrast to the usual have to be around her. Just hope she will find someone though that'll stick around long enough to get through that shy shell. You though..." Tartara's smile broadened slightly. "Sorta like me, its creepy. Course, I never created anything to be my friend, but I had no family, nor home, nor friends for the majority of my life. But maybe now...also like me...you can slowly start to gain it?"

"At least you tried, I don't think I could ever raise family so big and I'm sure Zana is happy you stayed" He looked at her when she moved his hair out of the way and smiled alittle "I want to be her friend, but it's hard to just know how to be one when I've enver even had one?" "I'm sorry, I don't mean to complain, I guess I'm just afraid to break out the old habit of only relying on myself sweatdrop "

"Mmm...well...its not exactly something that you actively do..." She slipped off of the counter. "I mean, it can't, concidering even toddlers have friends. It just sort of...happens over time. Talk to her, give her some space when she needs it, be nice and have some patience. Thats all really." Tartara picked up an oven mit and peeked inside the contraption. "aha! Done." The female grinned and reached in with the covered hand to pull it out, filling the room with a heavenly scent
