Realin looked around the den and moved even closer to her mother. Her eyes closed again. It was scary, this big world, all of these scary wolves that could beat her up. Her red paws looked blood stained, but she got the colour from her daddy, she wanted to be strong like him. Her nose was now burried into her mother's fur as she sighed quietly.
Taking a deep breath, she would snuggle into her mother a bit more. She wanted to be a strong wolf when she grew up. Enough for not to be picked on. Snuggling even deeper, she would give a small whimper. She was slightly hungry, but not enough just to move.
Seeing her brothers leave, she stumbled out after them. She would roll her eyes at them, how boyish. Ploping her butt in the snow, she gave her wolfish grin.

((Whoo! Just in time, I hear! XD *waves to all*))
((Here's the start of a compressed RP I did with Thayne/Luce last night, hee- ^_^))Hige's return (The day that the pups were born and also the day AFTER Feanaro's first visit) The soft sound of brush scratching against brush sounded as the young wolf emerged from the snow covered foilage. He let a long, tired huff escape his lips, coiling in puffs of white small clouds. Just being in Feanaro's presence too long could be extremely tiring, let alone running all the way back to the packlands to give news of his wearabouts.
He eyed the familiar territory, ears half cocked and one paw forward, as if he wasn't sure if proceeding was wise. Hige was worried. Feanaro had come here alone to deliver the news, so there was no telling what he'd said to their packmates. There was also the fact that the brown male absolutely reeked(!) of Feanaro, Shilah, Kaya, and Hinto. (Pup, human girl, human boy in that order) The entire pack might just drive him off before he even had a chance to open his maw in defense! With Selia expecting- ... No, wait... scratch that. The scents of blood and new life were faintly wafting into his nostrils, which meant that Selia had already delivered the pups...! A momentary thrill filled the wolf. Happy for his adopted parents...
Silently he crept forward, pushing aside his doubts. At least Loki and Thayne would greet him...Thayne rose to his feet, ears pricked. Something -- or someone -- with a familiar scent was coming this way... but it was nearly masked by other scents. An older wolf's, a younger wolf's... and humans. It took him a minute to discover what the main scent was. Hige! Hige had returned! ...but wait. Did he bring those wolves with him? And the humans, too? Thayne glanced back at the den. His tail wagged once or twice, unsure of what to do. Hige slowed to a pause at the inner border of the territory, rearing his head back to give a greeting howl. It resonated shortly in a rich tone, then faded out again shortly after. This was to let the others know that he was back...!
How could Feanaro stand it? He'd spent one night away from Loki and the others and it practically made him itch. Feanaro hadn't seen Khalaria in a WEEK.
"Yo! ... Anyone home?" He called ahead, loping into the territory and pausing near the center, looking about. There was a new scent here as well, that of Issac's though Hige didn't know this at the time.Thayne let out a short, happy bark and trotted forward a few steps, his tail wagging furiously. He stopped just short of Hige, sniffing the air again. The foreign scents were there, but not as strong as they should have been if the owners were actually there. Realizing that, he loped up to Hige and butted his brother's shoulder playfully, prancing around in glee. "Where y' been?" Hige buffed, taking the hit easily and turning to take a playful n** at Thayne, not actually clasping his jaws around any part of his younger brother. "Out?" He chuckled, watching the tricolored "pup" trot about, then allowing his tail to wag a bit showing he felt the comforts of the familiars of home settling in. "I went back to the freelands, but I ended up getting stuck there overnight." He admitted sheepishly. ^_x;;Thayne woofed softly, laughing, and nipped back at the tan male. "Y' were 'oot' fer quite soom time," he replied, then out of earshot of the rest of the pack, "Y' might wanna set some time 'side fer a talk 'tween y' an' Loki. She's been worried 'boot y' -- said she's got soom thin's t' talk wi' y' 'boot, 'sides."He'd swear that Thayne's dialect got more strange everyday! XD (actually it's more like it becomes more audible to Hige everyday XD especially after hanging around fea and balan,)
"I hope I'm not going to end up sleeping outside of the den again!" Hige laughed a bit more nervous now. XD;; You don't test a female's patience. Ever. "What've you been up to while I was off?" He could detect the scents of rabbit on the younger wolf, had he been out practicing his solo hunting skills?
He circled him, smirking a bit.
"Why Thayne! It seems you grew some in the short hours I was gone!" He teased, falling right back into the lighthearted spirit that had been absent when he left. The younger male stood still but for his tail and ears, the former wagging still while the latter swiveled to home in on the circling Hige. "Aye, I got a bit bigger," he said with a half-smirk. "Been huntin' most o' t'day... Selia had th' pups while I was gone. Gave m' rabbit t' Loki; sh' looked like sh' needed somethin'." The tricolored male still wondered if Loki was actually better, or if the sickness was simply dormant, but it wasn't as if he could tell."I was out hunting for her..." Hige came to a stop, lowering his voice so that just Thayne could hear for now... "when I ran into some two leggers."Thayne nudged Hige's muzzle lightly, a signal to keep it quiet. "Y' can tell us 'boot it later," he said, "later" meaning "without the others here." The mention of two-leggers made him supremely uncomfortable, and he didn't want the rest of the pack getting any other funny ideas about Hige's past whereabouts beyond what the overlaid scents would do."Feanaro already came here with the intention of talking to Devvyl about it," Hige muttered, obviously a little less than pleased at that. He was still worried about what Feanaro might or might not try to do, to anyone in the pack, especially his parents and Loki. "I can smell him faintly... Did he cause any trouble?" He did wisely drop the humans topic, however."Not that I know o'," Thayne replied, a hard edge to his voice. Course, I wasn' 'ere... an' dammit, I should've been... "Well, it probably would've been obvious if he had, and thinking about it, he wouldn't have made it back in one piece if at all, if he had." Hige replied in a tone that insinuated amusement, but for the grim underlying of his voice.
Hige's thoughts mirrored Thayne's. Had trouble broken out after all, Hige would never have forgiven himself. He should have been there instead of letting Feanaro come to their pack lands...
He returned Thayne's previous butt to his shoulder, he did want to talk to the others and see Loki before thinking anything else about the situation.
Turning his figure, expecting Thayne would or would not follow, the 'older brother' sauntered off in the direction of his alpha's scent... especially since it seemed to be where Loki's came from as well. He'd congratulate his parents and see how Loki was...
A few moments later his unmistakable, husky furred form appeared in view, drawing closer with his tail and head held level.

She smirked at her daughter, and would nuzzle her lightly, licking her forehead. Bumping her own muzzle against the pup's rear to push her out a bit, she looked up as the form of her adopted son came into view. Smirking towards him, she eyed Yin and Yang. "Boys, calm down." She snickered, and watched Yin bolt away from his brother, who was trying to chase him down into the snow as he had done in the first place.
Yelping when he was forced onto his stomach into the snow, he whimpered, and would bat backwards in an aimless attack to get his brother off of him. Feeling the weight being pulled off, he noted his mother having picked Yang up and setting him down away from him. Sniffling, he'd stand up, and shake off his thick white coat...stumbling over to his sister to sit down in front of her.
"No fair," he wrinkled his nose at being sat down away from his brother, who had just been insulting him...whining a bit up at his mother, she eyed him with a stern face. Sighing, he stood up to look towards the brown form coming towards them. Wagging his tail automatically, he stumbled towards'em, before tripping over his own feet and down into the snow he went.

Realin stared up at her mother, and moved to sit next to her. Smiling, she would move a bit closer. Scary wolfehs. But, she wanted to be just like her mother, so she had to be strong. Sighing, she would stock her tongue out at Ying and Yang. The two.. boys were so childish sometimes.
Seeing the brownish figure, she would cower a bit, running to sit behind Yang. She decided she like him best. He wasn't that bad. Smiling to him, she would give him a small nod. Would he help her if something went wrong?

He stopped in his tracks, one paw still raised in preperation for his next step forward. A lively grin filled his eyes, tail wagging instinctively as he resumed his pace again. Quiet at first, he gave Loki a nuzzle, only a slight bit hesitant. "Hey," He mumbled happily, licking at her ear. "sorry for disappearing..."
The reason he kept his voice low was to avoid alarming the pups, or the parents for that matter. It was difficult though, not to greet her more enthusiastically.
He whined a soft greeting to show how much he HAD in fact missed her, settling onto his haunches, then lowering his head a bit. He owed an apology to them, or so he felt... to his parents, for wandering off on two occassions now. "Mom..." He said carefully, then ducked a bit more until he was partially bowed. "Sorry for taking off on you guys, I'm back home now..."
Poor Hige was fighting to keep his eyes level, and eventually he lost, eyes darting to the pups. He hadn't taken a good look at them yet.

"Hige," she smiled, and looked to Realin as she bolted behind Yang. Yin followed suit and stood by his brother, who was panting and staring at Hige curiously. "Glad you're home," she nodded to him, and stood up herself, moving to nuzzle his neck affectionately. Looking to Loki, she gave her a light nod of friendship. "I'm glad you're both safe.." She added, and nipped Hige's ear, before looking to the pups. "These are three of your new siblings, Hige. Realin, the one behind Yin and Yang. Yin is the white one, Yang is the black."
He would look back at his sister, his tail wagging a bit in curiosity. Sniffing slightly, he'd jump up a bit when Hige came closer to them. He would break out a light, high pitched bark towards his old 'brother' or sorts--but he had yet to know this. Blinking, he was mauled to the ground by his brother, flailing his tiny ebony paws. "GET OFF." He snapped, and flailed wildly. "Realin!" He bawled out for help, and looked to her as Yin bit at his ears and face lightly.
"Stop being a wuss," he snickered and would latch on to one ear, being shoved at to get off of his brother. He smirked wickedly, and would bounce further up onto his brother's stomach and chest, while he was kicked at and whined to about getting off. He eyed his sister when Yang called for her, arching a brow.

Realin growled and tackled him off Yang. "Stop leave him alone!" Growling slightly, she would pin him for a moment. Of course, she was slightly afraid, because Yin was very much stronger than her. "Yang, yagatta run to mummy!" Trying to n** at Yin playfully, she would roll around in the snow with him.
Looking up to the brown wolf and her mother, she would til her head. Was he their older brother? Huh? She was kind of lost for a moment.

"Rowdy little guys, aren't they?" Hige chuckled, relaxing finally as Selia let him know that things were alright. He gave a lopsided grin, looking to Selia for inverbal permission, then he lowered onto his stomach before the pups and scooched closer, snickering. He shot a mometary look back at Loki, grinning.
His tail wagging was the only give away that it was an invite to play, and not a sign of utter submission so soon.
"So me n' Yero are big brothers again, huh?" He was sure Thayne would also be thrilled. O.o;; wait, did that make him a half-brother? XD Bah. Silly details. They were all family in the pack, right?
He smirked to the pups, more than amused by their behavior as he left himself at their mercy, wanting to play.

Yang was released, and he bolted towards his mother, before stopping in his tracks to look at Hige. Ears swiveled a bit, and he would move closer to him, tail wagging wildly...making his rear swivel with his walk. "You're our brother, too?" He questioned, and would plop down in a puppy sit before the large male before him. He gave a smile to him, and batted at Hige's muzzle with a tiny paw...before setting the paw to Hige's nose, seeing how large this wolf truly was. "You're big!" He squealed, and would leap up atop the wolf's head, and lay there for a moment, then scooching up to Hige's neck.
"OI!" He called as he was tackled from his brother. Rolling them over, he was soon sat atop his sister stomach. Staring down at her, he blinked, then focused on his brother, who was sitting on the large male wolf's neck...who was claimed to be their brother. He whuffed, and would bat at Realin's muzzle with soft paws playfully...his little sister would have to be quicker than that to get him down!

Growling playfully, the pup would roll around trying to get her brother from atop her. "You're gonna get it, Yin!" Giggling, she would n** at his paws, trying to get him off. Snaping, she would tackle him backwards into the snow. "I beat you. You were beat by a girl Nyah, nyah." Teasing him, she would poke him with her paw, before moving to sit next to her mother again.

Nikui Yang was released, and he bolted towards his mother, before stopping in his tracks to look at Hige. He questioned, and would plop down in a puppy sit before the large male before him. He squealed, and would leap up atop the wolf's head, and lay there for a moment, then scooching up to Hige's neck. Hige chuckled, letting his eyes roll to the tops to try to follow Yang's movements. "Guilty as accused." Hige said with a mirthful tone, snuffing lightly against Yant's paw once it was planted on his nose. It was an odd feeling, having a pup crawling all over his head. XD He held still to keep Yang balanced, though, ears twitching now and then atuned to his surroundings. He shifted his weight, moving forward as his back legs pushed up, following his rear legs came his forelegs. Hige was now standing carefully, with Yang balanced on his neck, somewhere between his shoulders. He angled his head just the slightest bit, glancing at Yang from the corners of his eyes. "Welcome to the pack." He grinned a bit, ear twitching.

She would smirk at her pups, and sigh heavily. Looking towards the sky, she would then move towards Hige and Yang. "Well, guys, we need to get inside. It'll get colder soon, and you three have had enough of the outside.." She picked Yang up by the scruff, and allowed him down to run into the den, Yin following. "C'mon, Realin," she smiled, and herded them back into the den, looking to Hige. "They'll be back later to play with their big brother." She nodded, licked his forehead, and moved back into the den to set them up again, and see her mate once more.

It was too early for him to be there and he knew it, but he felt he should be doing something rather than sitting and watching flies devoir his kill while the man-pups and their alpha shivered along with Balan in his former cave. It wasn't fair to the young ones to wait that long for their fates to be decided. Had Hige not been so insistant Feanaro would never think to put the man-pups' fates in the hands of the demonic alpha... the wolf was a blind fool as far as Feanaro was concerned. He no longer longed to kill the red male, rather he wished him to be out of his life completely and to go on without aknowlagement to his existance. That was the extent of the grudge. Perhaps in time it would erode away further.
After the long run he returned to the boulder just on the border of the crimson pack's lands and laid himself down upon it. His muscles thanked him for the rest and he found it easy to find comfort in simply laying there, his golden eyes watching the inside of the packlands quietly. His crows circled around him a few times before finding their own perches here and there- Suuru's of course was upon the male's shoulder. He took a deep breath and laid his head down onto his paws. It would be at least another sun before they had expected him. A bit of a smirk came to his face to think of the turmoil his scent in the land would bring to the pack members.

((Woah.. uh, so much to include... o.o))
Loki thanked Thayne and set to work eating the rabbit he had brought, looking up only to scoot closer to the den when Selia let everyone see her pups. Grinning to herself, she scooted back down to her rabbit and finished eating it. Soon after, she could smell something coming.. it smelled very faintly of Hige.. but also of Faenaro, and.. and humans. Growling deep down in her throat, she laid waiting, deciding she wouldn't be shaken from her alphas densite for anything. She watched as Thayne ran off to investigate.
She shifted her position a bit to watch Thayne and Hige walk back to where everyone was gathered, and gave him a return nuzzle, deciding to wait for later to freak out about his disappearance - she didn't want to frighten the pups either.
A constant grin played over her maw as the cute little balls of fluff wrestled and tumbled around as the adults watched them. Her heart swelled as Hige played along with them, and was sad to see them go when their mother corraled them back into the den.
She gathered herself to stand, and walked over to Hige, a bit stiff legged. "Hun?" she grabbed his attention and motioned with her head for him to follow as she headed back to their den.

((So much for downtime. stare ))
He simply watched quietly as the pups were gathered, nuzzling Selia in return before the family disappeared into their den. Turning to Loki at her call Hige was both all too happy and all too tense to comply. He met her eyes, uncertain if she would be angry or not.
He really hadn't meant to be away overnight, but most of it was on Feanaro's insistance, and Balan's refusal to leave the three pup's side. Hige couldn't abandon a packmate, and he couldn't leave the human pups to be 'tamed' by the unpredictable.
Before going, however, a familiar scent drifted into the area, carried by a chilly wind. (As if to proove Selia right the moment they were within the comforts of their den.)
"... Feanaro.... He must've followed me back." Hige actually gave a deep throated growl. He didn't like the idea of the brown male coming near his family unannounced. Knowing he was there was one thing, but this was another. The fact that he didn't announce himself also put Hige on edge. ~What's that guy thinking, slinking around the territory?~
The gamma turned his head back towards the alpha's den and gave a soft call inside.
"Dad," he called back to the red male. "he's here."
That's all he said. Devvyl would know who "he" was, if not by the scent, then by the tone.
Hige turned to Loki, now wondering. "I didn't realize that he followed me back here..." He paused, trying to surpress the instinctive outrage that he felt by Feanaro's tresspassing. It wasn't working. Man-pups or not, he was tired of all the anger and pain that the older male brought with each apperance. He was starting to understand finally, for himself, why Garaa and Lexi would leave. Also, if they had done anything of what Fenaro said it was only because Fenaro himself had taught them to hate. "I'm... I'm sick of all the trouble that he's causing to Selia and Devvyl, and now showing up here unnannounced, slinking around..."
What if this was all a trick, was Feanaro mad enough to try attacking, or spying on the pack alone? What was he planning? He was acting like one of those damn birds that he seemed to take to hanging around. Somehow his behavior just bent and gnawed at Hige's innards so badly that he felt like something might SNAP.
Loki, Thayne, and the toddler pups in their parents den all needed protecting. ~This is MY pack too, that guy has a lot of gaul to come around here uninvited.~
"That's right." Hige muttered, bristling slightly.
~This is MY family that this guy is snooping around now. This is my mate and those are my siblings that he's slinking around.~
"I don't make pacts of loyalty lightly. I'm gonna stand by Devvyl this time, and see what's really going on here. He'd better have a damn good reason for showing up here before he said he would."
((I might not be OL by the time a reply is posted. I'm not doing anything more until Loki, Devvyl, and possibly Selia have had a chance to reply. If I do, Stormy or one of my other friends might be posting for me. If not. Goodnight.))
