Haha, oh Varos, you are so overdramatic as always. Its harmless fun, and even if it weren't I was always told that spirits can't hurt you. You can't be serious about the people who "know what they're doing." When it comes to a topic as vast and unpredictable as the human psyche, which is exactly what a spirit is, a free flowing, unkept human psyche, no one can possibly know what they are doing.

Wednesday some friends and I are going to bust it out and try and do some extraspiritual contacting. I don't see what the big deal is, but then again I fear next to nothing and my will, which some would call spirit, is stronger than most so yeah, not afraid of a witch board either. Mind you, my friend, a wiccan, placed literally tens of spells on me years ago for protection, I think mainly to keep me from getting depressed but still, I hardly think those have an expiration date, haha.

Maybe that's why, despite actively looking for one, people always avoid fighting me? Oh well, I still blame my intimidating appearance on that one, even though I used to be a pagan witch, a performed a number of rituals which yielded a number of different things, I still hardly believe in the paranormal. However, it gives me goosebumps and scares me a little, so for now Ouija is nothing more than a fun game!

Damn it, Lion, listen to me! Granted, you know more than me in some respects, but in this, please, hear me!

Spells last only so long as they are fed energy. Ten year old spells are lo-ong gone. There are many ways to be hurt, Lion, and physical hurt is the least of them. You are a greater fool than I if you don't hold credence to the paranormal, especially provoked. You're playing with fire, Lion, and you know it. In some corner of your soul, you know that it isn't just a game, adn it isn't just nonsense. Listen to the voice, and keep away from such things!

Look, I know what I'm talking about, trust me. Trust me, and stay the hell away from those demon-blasted boards!

Please Varos, I am neither entirely dim witted, nor am I entirely ignorant.

I don't give stock to things I know can't hurt me, but I do give stock to things that can hurt others, physically and mentally. I do this with others because there is an insatiably primal belief within me, more or less sparked from my term as a witch, that say that witch boards can be dangerous if used alone. I know that I am not an entirely good person, I can be tricked, I can be bribed, so I use others as a centre for this new found interest I have. It keeps me good.

I am of the strong belief that one should learn from mistakes, and being an avid learner I enjoy making mistakes. I won't promise that I'm going to stay away from a Ouija, because frankly I'm not. I do know, or rather, I have a feeling, that Ouija isn't just a game. That's why I don't treat it as a game, why in that respect would I whisper a spell that would let spirits know to use only my energy and will as a portal to make contact? I'm not the gambling type of guy, especailly not with other people, I have a lot on my conscience, I don't need more ^_^.

I figured spells wouldn't last as long as believed, but regardless, I am heavily spelled marked. And the best defense is believing in one's self, and you know that is the only thing I believe in.

Oh, Lion. *sigh* I wish you would come to believe in those who care about your well-being, as well. You might find that to be an entirely different kind of strength, should you choose to seek it.

I don't have the ability to draw strength from other people Varos, I merely lean on others when I don't have any strength left of my own.

Getting back to the topic of this thread, today was s**t, woke up feeling like hell, had a hard time focusing on my training and school. the only thing I've enjoyed doing today was reading my new book Fulgrim, a novel about the Emperor's Children Space Marines before their decent into Chaos. Quite the page turner, but then again its right up my alley and appeals to my male ego on just about every level.

Because I love you guys (or perhaps in spite of it) I'm sharing the Halloween collaboration my friend Lains and I did over the past two days.
Its Terrance and Phillip of South Park fame.
Why?
Because I'm a Canadian too. Haha.

"But Phillip, we're not gay!"
"We're not?"

Had an interesting day today.
~~~~~
Short clip:
In Latin class, we got on the topic of Henson dying of his own stubborn refusal to quit his poison (dip, of all things), and what he wanted on his headstone--as it turns out, "A fortress of one" and a red fist.
Then, we talked about visualization. He said the word "mountain" but I only heard "mount". All the other kids, minus one, visualized a snowy mountain top. I head "mount" and thought of those letters, in caps, in red. I said I thought it was "to mount" something, as in a command. Everyone laughed--sick class that Latin IV is--and I was left wondering why I had said anything at all.
Later, I told Henson not to worry, that I felt that I would die before he did. He asked me why I felt that, and I said, well, people like me...we don't live long. People like you? he asked me, a little surprised, and I was surprised, seeing as how I've told him the like so many times. I replied, people who see the change and not the mountain. We don't live so long. And for the record, I want a tree planted over my grave with a stone in front that has "Love and Vale" carved into it.
~~~~~
And for the record, I dreamt of Mama last night. In full color and full sound. This can't be healthy, but I'm glad for it anyway.

Love and Vale,

Oh come now Little'Varos, is such melodrama really necessary? Honestly, not everyone has my fortitude and constitution to make light of the weary. Some day someone is going to catch you on your grief and there'll be problems you won't want to face.

Don't let the other students bug you, making mistakes is part of learning, if they can't be serious when the situation calls for it then that is their own undoing.

A fortress of one... there's something in that phrase I don't like. The red fist is a powerful symboly of strength and passion, but it doesn't go at all with that phrase. Kind of like pouring water on fire, sure you can do it, but both are at constant odds with the other, the byproduct of such a union hardly anything good or beautiful. Perhaps, A Fortress of One complete with a masculine silver crown? I still don't like the phrase, after all, and yes my hypocracy can be stifling Varos, no man is an island, or fortress in this case. Such a blatant admittance to loneliness...

In other news, today, though still a might early, has been going well, my own latin class took part in acting out a small latin story of a ghost in chains and a philosopher by the name of Athenodorous. It was a nice little story, perfectly suited for what halloween is. Very fun!

Well, talking about good days and bad days, today has actually been pretty good. My 2 classes i had in the morning were both cancelled so i slept in until like 12 but mainly cause i was up until 2:30 last night. I wanted to go to a movie with my parents but my mom wasn't able to get out of work quick enough, so my dad and i went to subway for lunch. I'm just sitting here now listening to some techno/ trance mix, (well Tiesto to be exact), and waiting until I have to get ready to go to work. Speaking of that i didn't have to go in early today, which was an added bonus as well.

Now for the bad... So my cousin invited me last month to go to a gaming party up in Rose Park, (part of SLC) but my mom doesn't like the area so I can't go, now he's upset about that and I feel like I'm on a leash; but i really don't mind, I need a day to relax any way without anything on my mind, so i'll probably work on one of my books.

And lol, LD, that's just the teenage mind for yeah, some mature more quickly than others do...

On the subject of the teenage mind, some never mature at all.

And then some mature, but are able to maintain the ability to be immature on a whim. Like me. XD

Did anyone click the link I posted? XD

My god LD, do you honestly think they everyone wants to see that???
PostPosted: Sat Nov 03, 2007 6:08 pm

The censorship bar is there because a) I can't draw one of those right, and b) its supposed to be ridiculously silly. Lains and I thought it was sufficiently hilarious. Especially the quote I came up with at the top of the picture.

On the subject of censorship, however, I agree with Lea. Censorship is actually a step in the opposite direction for a country that claims freedom, not only of speech, but in most other respects as well. Why should I have to censor what I say in a place that says I'm allowed to say what I want?

On that note, as well, I'm rather mortified with the levels of prudishness displayed in North America. And we call the Brits prudish? Jeez. How is it that you can see someone maimed brutally on TV, and thats alright for everyone, but as soon as someone takes off their clothing (and therefore descends into one of the most natural states in human existence, we're born naked, for chrissakes) its shameful and kids can't see it, and it has to be blurred? Or when someone says ********, or something of the like on television, its bleeped/muted out, when words only hold the power you allot them?

The entire concept of censorship pisses me off beyond a doubt. Which is one of the reasons I love South Park, and the South Park Movie as much as I do. Because they don't care, they aren't afraid, they've got a lot of the same ideas as I do about how society is. They'll poke fun at literally anything without fear. Because they are only teasing, they don't mean it. And they know that, regardless of if everyone else knows it.
Matt Stone and Trey Parker are, honestly, geniuses, if not damned close.

I stray, but alas, truth need be spoke, and so I'll speak it.

Read Barbara Kingsolver's essay "Taming the Beast with Two Backs" from her book Small Wonder on censorship and today's mores for details (and an excellent and hilarious read).
