you would be surprised how many semi ganguro people are running around in hawaii! there is an equal amount of fair, tanned, and dark skinned people here, in my opinion, and it is the fair skinned and tanned people who have recently taken to dying their hair blonde or orangey [yes! when lightbrown is applied to black hair, it looks orange! D:]. i don't know what in the seven hells they are thinking, but when i saw the pictures of ganguro it instantly reminded my of that! perms are in fashion now, too. [for all hair colors] however, white make up is only seen on very fair skinned people with black hair.

ganguro update!
haha aahaahahahaaa..... there's now five girls that ride my bus everyday to school and they are all ganguro! they are all exchange students from japan, this is their first adn second year at the university. they are all orangey, permed haired. they wear white eye makeup and pink glitter lipstick. and they only wear white with a little bit of black. and they usually have high heels OR cowboy boots.
i haven't talked to them much, yet, but i'll definately take some pics.

Ganguro in anime is great, but in real life it's just scary to say the least.

I don't mind Ganguro. just as long as they don't try and force it onto me their free to wear whatever they want.

I just hope for their health that all the tan came from a bottle. o_O

Well they definately don't have the appeal of lolitas but I applaud the time they take to maintain their trends... Yikes, I wonder about their skin cancer risk. I'd say I do like the makeup though. I have tan skin and wear bright makeup and bright colors sometimes and I find that appealing. Peach Girl looks like a ganguro but I don't think she necessarily is one, I love Momo Adachi though ^.^

im not one for ganguro... i dont like how their skin looks... so unnatural, i say if you have dark skin, go for it... for me, the best look growing up was lolita, just because it was one of the styles that looked best on me, so just go with what you got heart
